Abstract

In a retail package for sewing needles, a flat backing (10) and a partially profiled covering (20) are used. Only one part (22) of the covering is firmly connected to the backing and, in contrast, the other part (21) of the covering serves as a flap part which can be spread from its stretched parallel position on the backing into an angular position relative to the backing. The needles located between the backing and the covering project from the package when the flap part is bent away and are accessible for removal. In order to retain the remaining needles reliably when a retail package has been broken open, it is proposed to design the free edge strip (29) of the flap part so that it can itself be folded back. When it is folded back, the apex of the fold overlaps the free ends of the needles while the limb which is folded back grips behind the end pieces of the exposed needles. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention is directed to a sales package of the type specified in the preamble of patent claim 1, which is primarily intended for sewing needles.

The known sales package (DE-U-89 07 589) contains numerous needles and consists of a flat carrier on the one hand and a profiled cover on the other. For easy removal of a needle, the cover is only attached to the carrier with its lower part, which will be referred to as "fixed part" below, while the remaining, upper part of the cover is unsecured and can be spread in an angular position to the carrier and therefore briefly below "Flap part" should be named. If the flap part is spread apart, the upper sections of the needles assigned to it are exposed and are easily accessible for removal. With their lower section, the needles are stored in a receptacle produced by the fixed part and the carrier.

With a sales package of this type, the user only needs a single needle, while the remaining needles are initially to remain in the packaging. However, if the known sales package had been broken open, the flap part could not be pressed so close to the carrier in order to securely hold back the remaining needles in the sales package. When moving the sales package, the needles could easily fall out and get lost. In the known sales package, a tab was provided on the carrier, which should overlap the flap part on the upper edge in such a case, but falling out the needles could not be prevented. This is because there is a free gap between the flap part and the carrier through which the needles remaining in the pack can fall out.

The invention has for its object to develop an inexpensive sales package of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1, in which the needles remaining in a opened package are reliably retained and the sales package is characterized by simple, convenient handling. This is achieved according to the invention by the measures specified in the characterizing part of claim 1, which have the following special significance.

The invention proposes to fold back the upper edge strip of the angled flap part when the package has been opened. The edge strip is folded back in the opposite direction to bend the flap part. It is sufficient to make the cover a little longer in the area of the flap part than is necessary to accommodate the needles. This excess length is used in the invention for refolding. When folding back, a folding parting is created, which can now reach over the front ends of the needles remaining in the package. From the edge strip, which initially runs in a stretched manner, a folded back leg now arises, which engages behind the end pieces of the exposed needle sections on the side facing the wearer. The flap part then returns to its extended position with the fold part. The fold-back leg is already held in its position behind the free needle ends by the wearer. There is a U-shaped overlap that retains the needles in the packaging. It is sufficient only to ensure that the fold-back leg is pivoted into the space between the needles and the carrier. Although there may be a gap between the fold-back leg and the carrier, the needles can no longer fall through the gap because of the U-shaped overlap of the cover.

Further measures and advantages of the invention result from the subclaims, the drawings and the following description.

The sales package consists of a flat carrier 10 made of cardboard material and a self-profiled cover 20 made of transparent plastic material. In the fully assembled state, the carrier 10 and the cover 20 form two sheet-shaped layers touching one another, which form receptacles 31, 32, 33 between them for a group of needles 30, which here consist of eye needles for the sewing technique. For this purpose, the cover 20 is profiled in a special way.

The cover 20 can be divided into an upper flap part 21 and a lower fixed part 22, which are in the finished pack in the parallel position 23 indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 2 to the carrier 10, but have a different connection to the carrier 10. The profiling of the cover 20, which leads to the receptacles 31, 32, 33 with the carrier 10, extends to the central piece 24 of the cover 20 shown in FIG. 1 and is enclosed in a frame-like manner by a flat flange 25. In the fixed part 22, this flange 25, as can be seen from the dashed lines at 26 in FIG. 1, is permanently fastened to the face of the support 10. In addition to this fastening surface 26, there are also parallel fastening lines that are spaced apart from one another 27 between the fixed part 22 and the carrier 10, on which, due to a profiling of the cover 20, the fixed part 22 comes into contact with the face of the carrier 10. This results in quivers 32 which are separate from one another in this area and are used for piece-by-piece storage of the individual needles 30. Only in the lower area of the fixed part 22 can there be a total space 33 in the pack for receiving the needle tips 34.

In the fully packaged state, there are only a few adhesive points 28 between the flap part 21 and the front side of the carrier 10, which are easy to tear open and therefore only act as seals which show whether the sales package has been opened unauthorizedly or not. These traps 28 are advantageously located in the outermost edge strip 29 of the cover 20, which forms the flat flange of the flap part 21 in this section. All other areas of the flange 25 or edge strip 29 are in the unbroken parallel position 23 of the flap part 21 with the carrier 10 only in loose contact. The traps 28 are sufficient to prevent the individual needles 30 from falling out of the pack on the unbroken, finished pack by longitudinal displacement in their quivers 32. The receptacle in the area of the flap part 31 consists of a continuous space 31, into which the individual needles protrude with their free section 35, which in the following will be referred to as "free section". The needles 30 are located with their remaining section 36 piece by piece in the already mentioned quiver 32 or with their needle tips 34 in the total space 33, this section 36 serving for the piece-by-piece storage of the needles, for which reason it will hereinafter be referred to for short as the "storage section".

At the transition 19 between the flap part 21 and the fixed part 22 there is a hinge which shows a spreading movement of the flap part 21 from its parallel position 23 into the angular position 23 'indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIGS. 2 and 3 as shown by the arrow 18 in FIGS. 1 and 3. allowed. FIG. 3 shows the full unfolded position of the flap part 21. As can also be seen from FIG. 3, the hinge 19 of the cover 20 is of the same height as the carrier 10 with a parallel crease line 16, which is embossed by an embossed stamping or the like. can be prepared in the cardboard material of the carrier 10. This allows, as Fig. 3 shows Transfer the upper support section 11 from a stretched position 12 indicated there by dash-dotted lines by an opposing bending movement 17 into the counter-angular position 12 'also indicated in FIG. 3. Now the needles 30 protrude with their above-described free sections 35 from the described remaining receptacles 32, 34, which are formed between the remaining carrier rest 13 and the fixed part 22 of the cover 20 attached to it. Now a single needle 30 can be selected, conveniently grasped on both sides by hand, and conveniently removed in the direction of arrow 37. So that the other needles 30 cannot fall out of the pack in an uncontrolled manner, the pack according to the invention is provided with a special closure device 40 which can be designed and handled in the following simple manner.

The flap part 21 has at the transition from the above-mentioned outer edge strip 29 to the central piece 24 profiled in the continuous receiving space 31 a dash-dotted line 41 indicated in FIG. As illustrated in FIG. 4, the edge strip 29 can thereby be folded back from a stretched position indicated there by dash-dotted lines in the direction of the arrow 42 into the position 29 'shown in solid lines, as a result of which a "fold-back leg" is created. As can be seen from FIG. 4, the resulting folding crest 43 overlaps the eyelet end 38 of the needles 30, while the folding leg 29 ′ engages behind the end pieces 39 of the remaining free sections 35 of the needles 30. This folded-back shape of the flap part 21 thus grips the needles 30 in a U-shaped manner in the height region of their end pieces 39. Now only the angled support section 11 needs to be folded back in the direction of the arrow 44 shown in FIG. 4, so that the fold-back leg 29 'comes to rest on the face of this support section 11. This fact is approximately illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6. In this contact position, the folding top 43 is fixed by a tab 14 provided on the carrier 10, which is designed in the following special way.

The flap 14 is located in the upper support section 11 in the same height range in which, as can be seen from FIG. 1, the fold line 41 of the flap part 21 is arranged. The tab 14 interrupts one in there Carrier provided fold line 45, because it ends at two tongues 15, which are embossed on both sides of the tab 14 in the carrier 10 and together with the tab create a mirror-image double-Z shape in the cardboard material of the carrier 10. The flap 14 runs antiparallel to its two tongues 15 delimiting it laterally. The two fold line halves 45 facilitate the bending of this support section 11 in itself, and are therefore not pushed through like the outlines of the flap 14 and the two tongues 15. This is shown in FIG. 4 and 5 can be seen where, by kinking the carrier end piece 46 on the fold line 45, the flap 14 formed thereon is also moved, and an opening closing mouth 48 can be created under the flap 14 with respect to the adjacent carrier zone 47. When the carrier end piece 46 is kinked, as can be seen from FIG. 5, the folded-back flap part 21 with its folding top 43 can be pushed into the closing mouth 48, after which the angled carrier end piece 46 again increasingly in its dash-dotted lines in FIGS. 5 and 6 indicated stretch position 49 in the sense of the indicated pivot arrow 50 of FIG. 6 is moved back about the fold line 45. The flap 14 is also pivoted and presses the folded-over apex 43 of the folded-over flap part 21, which it engages over, onto the carrier 10 again. As a result, the needles 30 remaining in the receptacles 31, 32, 33 in the makeshiftly sealed package are secured against falling out. The refolding 29 ', 43 forms, together with the tab 14, the mentioned closure device 40 of the packaging. For this, it is sufficient to arrange the cutouts for the tab 14, the tongues 15 and the embossments for the fold line 45, as shown in FIG. 1, in the height region of the foldable edge strip 29 of the cover 20. The handling for folding over, closing and opening this closing device 40 is very simple and sensible and can therefore be carried out by the pack owner without long instruction.

The carrier 10 of the sales pack is also provided in its aforementioned end piece 46 with a hanging hole 51, with which the finished sales pack can be positioned on hanging bars, not shown, of a self-service device. Due to the gravity of the goods and their packaging in this hanging state, all optional fold, fold and fold lines are secured in their extended position. This keeps the flat shape of the packaging. The Fold line 45 between the beam end piece 46 and the adjacent beam zone 47 as well as the continuous crease line 16 of the upper beam section 11 opposite the lower rest of the beam start from both longitudinal beam edges 52.
