Abstract

A package (10) and a method of production thereof are proposed for articles (14) which are to be introduced, in particular in a compressed state, into the package, such as layers of hygienic papers, nappies and the like. The package (10) consists of two package halves (16, 18) which each surround the articles (14) in the manner of a clasp, the clasp limbs (16', 18') of which package halves overlap one another and are fixedly connected to one another, the restoring forces acting in the direction of the clasp limbs in the packaged state of the articles. In this case, the connection of the overlapping clasp limbs brings about a wall reinforcement which absorbs the restoring forces of the compressed packaged product. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a packaging for a plurality of objects lying against one another in layers and pressed against one another, at least in the form of a sleeve. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for packaging such objects, such as compressible hygiene articles, for example diapers, pant diapers and tissue articles.

Objects of this type have so far been packaged in outer cartons, this being matched to a specific packaging volume. The objects are layered in layers and taken up by the packaging in an essentially uncompromising manner.

The invention has for its object to provide a packaging that can be made from cardboard material analogous to the known outer packaging, but is characterized by such strength that a significantly larger number of objects can be accommodated. This means that the objects have to be brought in compressed, whereby the packaging has to withstand the restoring forces.

This object is achieved by the characterized features of patent claim 1.

In such a packaging, the packaging parts can consist of relatively thin, conventional cardboard material, the longitudinal webs connecting the clasp legs to one another being stressed by the restoring forces. The firm connection of the overlapping clasp legs causes a wall reinforcement to absorb the restoring forces of the pressed packaged goods.

Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Verpackung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche 2 bis 9.Advantageous embodiments of the packaging are the subject of subclaims 2 to 9.

An advantageous packaging of the objects in a packaging according to the invention is possible with the aid of the methods according to patent claims 10 and 11. In the first case, the clasp-shaped packaging halves are transported from opposite sides of a batch of corresponding objects delivered to a packaging station in the direction of the stack, then their finally overlapping clasp legs are brought into contact with one another and finally firmly connected to one another, so that the batch is enclosed by the packaging in a band-like manner is.

In the second case, the clip-shaped packaging halves are first brought into mutual engagement and connected to one another with their clip legs, whereupon a stack of pressed objects lying in layers against one another is pushed into the packaging.

The packaging according to the invention offers the advantage of forming a simple and durable packaging for a number of pressed objects, which is considerably larger than the number usually contained in outer cartons, with low material expenditure. This in turn results in the advantage of saving space in warehousing.

The package designated as a whole in FIG. 1 by 10 forms a banderole, with the aid of which, for example, a stack 12 of hygiene articles 14 consisting of a predetermined number of objects lying against one another in layers and pressed on is held together. The packaging consists of two identical packaging halves 16 and 18, which are formed, for example, from cardboard blanks. They form U-shaped clasps, the clasp legs 16 ', 16' and 18 'or 18' are each connected to the back of the clasp 24 or 26 by a fold 20 or 22.

To form the package 10, the two packaging halves are fed to one another in such a way that the clasp legs 16 'and 18' or 16˝ and 18˝ overlap over the entire area.

In one embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3 it is provided that the clasp leg 18 'of the packaging half 18 is inserted between the clasp legs 16' and 16˝ of the packaging half 16, while the clasp leg 18˝ is outside the clasp leg 16 ', 16˝ located. Before mutual overlap, an adhesive layer 28 is applied to the inside of the clasp leg 16 'and to the outside of the clasp leg 16˝, after which the adjacent clasp legs 16', 18 'and 16˝, 18˝ are joined together.

As an alternative to the described connection of the two packaging halves 16, 18, these can, as shown in FIG. 5, also be assigned to one another such that both Clasp legs 18 ', 18˝ are located on the inside of the clasp legs 16', 16˝ of the other half of the packaging.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, the restoring forces of the compressed packaging material act in the direction of the double-walled wall parts of the packaging in the direction of the double arrow 30.

The packaging described can be equipped in the usual way with a fitted bottom and also a lid. The connection of the clasp legs 16 ', 18' or 16˝, 18˝ can also be made with a detachable adhesive connection.

For packaging corresponding objects 14, the two packaging halves 16, 18 are to be provided in a stationary manner, for example in a separate state, the objects being pressed together by grippers and inserted between the two packaging halves 16, 18. The packaging halves are then to be adjusted in the direction of the stack, whereby they come into mutual engagement and are connected to one another accordingly.

However, it is also conceivable to first firmly connect the two packaging halves 16, 18 to one another and then only to push the objects 14, which are very strongly compressed by means of grippers, into the packaging, the relaxation time of the stacked objects being greater than the time required for pushing them in .
