Definitions
- the invention is based on a belt buckle for conveyor belt restraint systems, comprising a locking mechanism and at least one belt strap end piece which can be inserted into it and can be ejected as a result of a push of a button, the end piece having a tongue which can be locked with the mechanism with the aid of a control member on the end piece, and the mechanism consisting of a U- Shaped metal frame with a locking member mounted in the lateral recesses for locking the tongue of the end piece, a spring-loaded, tongue-actuating ejector, a spring-loaded locking member support for securing at least the latching position of the locking member and a spring-loaded release button.
- a belt buckle of the aforementioned type is described in EP-OS 0 252 403.
- the locking member is relatively complicated and has a considerable Mass on, so that the locking member must be manufactured time-consuming and at high cost and also relatively high friction forces must be overcome when it is actuated.
- the locking member is a relatively large component and has an obliquely bent down latch for locking with the tongue part of the webbing end piece, which must be bent precisely to ensure the function of the buckle under all circumstances.
- the mass of this locking member is relatively high, so that considerable operating forces must be applied in connection with the considerable frictional resistances when operating the lock.
- the object of the invention is to improve a buckle of the type mentioned above in that the locking member, its storage and its actuation are further simplified in order to manufacture the buckle more cost-effectively and easily, and to operate it more easily.
- the locking member is an at least substantially flat plate-shaped component that the lateral recesses in the metal frame for holding and guiding the pin of the locking member consist of elongated holes that are extend parallel to the direction of movement of the tongue in the frame and are dimensioned such that the pin in Movement direction of the tongue movable, but perpendicular to it and at least in the locking position of the locking member are guided essentially free of play, that the web part of the U-shaped metal frame has a stop for fixing the locking position of the locking member, that the front upper region of the locking member has a stop for unlocking the locking member by Trigger button forms and that the locking member support is arranged behind the locking member above the ejector and is movable at least substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the ejector.
- This solution further simplifies the shape of the locking member. It can be produced by a single punching process and does not require any bending operations for further shaping. Its resulting smaller size leads to a smaller mass with the advantage that this link made of metal now requires less actuation forces. The latter also because it is exposed to smaller frictional forces when it is closed and opened, especially since, according to the invention, it is in principle stored in the elongated holes with a relatively large amount of play.
- a secure locking position of the locking member is achieved in any case, because on the one hand it is not movable in the transverse direction to the longitudinal extension of the lateral elongated holes, at least in the locking position, and on the other hand it is supported at the bottom on the metal frame of the buckle.
- the rear, correspondingly well sprung locking member support presses on the back of the locking member in order to prevent this link from falling out of its locked position.
- the locking element is opened by pressing the release button directly pushed back, so that the locking member moves back in the two elongated holes and thereby comes to an inclined position, such that it retracts from the tongue of the belt end piece, so that it is unlocked.
- the non-locking position of the substantially rectangular locking member is secured by a backward inclined inclined position thereof, which is achieved on the one hand by a rear raised contact of the inclined locking member on the locking member support and on the other hand by a lower front contact of the locking member on a housing part of the lock in connection with the upper one System of the pawl pin is secured to the elongated holes.
- the belt buckle consists mainly of a lock housing 1 with a be in it sensitive locking mechanism and two webbing end pieces 2 and 3. Of the one end piece 2, only the tongue 4, which is locked with its locking hole 5 with the mechanism, can be seen, while the other end piece 3 has a control element 6, which also with the mechanism engages. A single strap end piece can also be used, which then also has the control element 6. It is also possible to use more than two end pieces.
- the mechanism mentioned comprises a U-shaped metal frame 7, a locking member 8 mounted thereon for locking the tongue 4, a compression spring-loaded, common ejector 9 for the unlocked tongue, a locking member support 10 which acts on the rear of the locking member 8, and a compression spring-loaded release button 11, which engages the locking member at the top and is preferably movable parallel to the direction of movement of the tongue 4.
- a helical compression spring 12, 13 and 14 is preferably used for parts 9, 10 and 11.
- the web part of the metal frame 7 has a rear extension 15 with a hole 16, before a webbing (not shown) is attached in a known manner.
- the two opposite legs 17 of the U-shaped metal frame 7 each have a rectangular slot 18 for holding and guiding the locking member 8, which are arranged such that the two slots parallel to the direction of movement of the tongue 4 in the mechanism extend and are each provided in such an area of the leg 17, which is approximately above the Locking hole 5 of the tongue 4 is when it is snapped into the mechanism.
- the plate-shaped and essentially rectangular blocking member 8 (FIG. 4) has a pin 19 on each of its short sides, the pins being held and guided in the elongated holes 18, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 to 3.
- the locking member further has a lower central locking lug 20 which engages in the locking hole 5 of the tongue 4, and an upper stop 21 which serves to unlock the mechanism by the release button 11.
- the locking member 8 is preferably flat, but can also be slightly curved, for example in its upper region, and consists e.g. made of metal.
- the width of the pin 19 corresponds essentially to the height of the elongated holes 18, so that the locking member 8, when it is vertical, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, cannot move in the vertical direction, that is, it is fixed in this respect.
- the pins can move in the longitudinal direction of the elongated holes, because of the many times longer length of the elongated holes with respect to the thickness of the pins, so that the locking member according to FIGS. 1 and 3 is in an inclined position, which is the disengaged position of the locking member. can take.
- the metal frame 7 has in its web part 22 connecting the two legs 17 a conventional, elongated guide recess 23 for receiving and axially guiding the ejector 9 of known construction, which in conjunction with the compression spring 12 ejects the tongue 4 of the end piece 2 when the locking member 8 is unlocked.
- the ejector 9 is supported also the locking member 8 from when the latter is unlocked ( Figures 1 and 3).
- the front end of the recess 23 formed as a punched hole also serves as a stop 24 for the locking lug 20 of the locking member when the latter is engaged (FIG. 2), so that the locking position of the locking member is thereby also secured.
- the locking member support 10 is arranged, axially at least substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the ejector, so that the support 10 moves forward when the tongue 4 is locked due to the compression spring 13 and when the release button 11 is pressed the arrow 25 moved back.
- the support 10 engages at the rear approximately centrally on the locking member 8 and thus causes a locking moment on the locking member, since this is temporarily fixed in the region of its locking lug and during its unlocking time on an additional part 1a of the housing 1.
- Parts 1 and 1a are connected to one another in a positionally secure manner by means of a customary latching connection 26.
- the front end of the locking member support has a rounding 27 as an improved working surface for easier movement of the locking member.
- the locking member support 10 has two lateral arms 28 and 29, with which it is guided in elongated recesses 30 of the housing part 1a indicated by dashed lines, as is clear to the person skilled in the art without further explanation.
- the backward inclined position of the locking member 8, which represents an unlocking position, is secured in that the locking member on the one hand back is supported by the support 10 on an elevated area and on the other hand by a lower front contact on the housing part 1a and on the ejector 9 and by an upper contact of the locking pin 19 on the upper edge of the elongated holes 18.
- the unlocking position of the locking member can also be ensured in that the side elongated holes 18 for holding and guiding the pins of the locking member have such a length that instead of the rear locking member support 10, the rear limitation of the elongated holes on the one hand each has a rear stop for the pins Form inclined position of the disengaged locking member 8, and that the inclined position is given on the other hand by a front lower contact on the housing part 1a and on the ejector 9 and in connection with the upper contact of the locking member pins on the slot edges.
- the elongated holes 18 in the legs 17 of the metal frame 7 are preferably rectangular. However, they can also have a shape that widens somewhat towards the rear. It is also possible that the elongated holes 18 do not extend exactly parallel to the direction of movement of the tongue 4 of the corresponding webbing end piece 2, but instead have a somewhat inclined direction. However, it must be ensured that the locking member 8 can be moved into such an inclined position from which it can be brought securely into its locking position.
- the buckle described works in the following way.
- the two, previously put together webbing End pieces 2, 3 are inserted into the rest of the lock, the tongue 4 initially coming into contact solely with the ejector 9 and pushing it back against the spring force 12.
- the locking member 8, supported by the locking member support 10, falls on the tongue 4.
- the control member 6 of the end piece 3 comes to bear against the locking lug 20 of the locking member 8 and causes the locking member 8 to further support by the support 10, in the hole 23 of the frame 7 and comes to rest against the stop 24.
- the locking member 8 has thus moved from its inclined position according to FIG. 1 into its locking position according to FIG. 2.
- the locking member cannot automatically get out of this latter position because it is prevented from doing so in connection with the locking member support 10 by its pins 19, which abut the upper edge of the elongated holes 18. If the release button 11 is now pressed in the direction of the arrow 25 (FIG. 3), the locking member 8 is pushed backwards, the support 10 also being moved rearward against the force of the spring 13, as a result of which the locking lug 20 of the locking member 8 moves forward moved up and thus the tongue 4 of the corresponding end piece releases again. The ejector 9 then moves the tongue 4 out of the lock mechanism and itself reaches its starting position shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, in which the locking member 8 is also supported on the ejector 9.

Abstract
Description
The invention is based on a belt buckle for conveyor belt restraint systems, comprising a locking mechanism and at least one belt strap end piece which can be inserted into it and can be ejected as a result of a push of a button, the end piece having a tongue which can be locked with the mechanism with the aid of a control member on the end piece, and the mechanism consisting of a U- Shaped metal frame with a locking member mounted in the lateral recesses for locking the tongue of the end piece, a spring-loaded, tongue-actuating ejector, a spring-loaded locking member support for securing at least the latching position of the locking member and a spring-loaded release button.
A belt buckle of the aforementioned type is described in EP-OS 0 252 403. In this lock, the locking member is relatively complicated and has a considerable Mass on, so that the locking member must be manufactured time-consuming and at high cost and also relatively high friction forces must be overcome when it is actuated. The locking member is a relatively large component and has an obliquely bent down latch for locking with the tongue part of the webbing end piece, which must be bent precisely to ensure the function of the buckle under all circumstances. In addition, the mass of this locking member is relatively high, so that considerable operating forces must be applied in connection with the considerable frictional resistances when operating the lock.
A comparable belt buckle is disclosed in EP-OS 0 083 752. The above-mentioned disadvantages are also present in the locking member of this lock, the locking member being even more complicated.
The object of the invention is to improve a buckle of the type mentioned above in that the locking member, its storage and its actuation are further simplified in order to manufacture the buckle more cost-effectively and easily, and to operate it more easily.
The solution to this problem is based on the above-mentioned belt buckle and further characterized in that the locking member is an at least substantially flat plate-shaped component that the lateral recesses in the metal frame for holding and guiding the pin of the locking member consist of elongated holes that are extend parallel to the direction of movement of the tongue in the frame and are dimensioned such that the pin in Movement direction of the tongue movable, but perpendicular to it and at least in the locking position of the locking member are guided essentially free of play, that the web part of the U-shaped metal frame has a stop for fixing the locking position of the locking member, that the front upper region of the locking member has a stop for unlocking the locking member by Trigger button forms and that the locking member support is arranged behind the locking member above the ejector and is movable at least substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the ejector.
This solution further simplifies the shape of the locking member. However, a secure locking position of the locking member is achieved in any case, because on the one hand it is not movable in the transverse direction to the longitudinal extension of the lateral elongated holes, at least in the locking position, and on the other hand it is supported at the bottom on the metal frame of the buckle. The rear, correspondingly well sprung locking member support presses on the back of the locking member in order to prevent this link from falling out of its locked position. To open the belt buckle, the locking element is opened by pressing the release button directly pushed back, so that the locking member moves back in the two elongated holes and thereby comes to an inclined position, such that it retracts from the tongue of the belt end piece, so that it is unlocked.
The non-locking position of the substantially rectangular locking member is secured by a backward inclined inclined position thereof, which is achieved on the one hand by a rear raised contact of the inclined locking member on the locking member support and on the other hand by a lower front contact of the locking member on a housing part of the lock in connection with the upper one System of the pawl pin is secured to the elongated holes.
- FIGS. 1 to 3 each show longitudinal longitudinal sections through the exemplary embodiment, namely when inserting webbing end pieces, after locking the end pieces and when unlocking the end pieces, the latter already being ejected,
- FIG. 4 shows a simplified partial section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 2,
- Figure 5 is a plan view of an individual part of the embodiment.
According to Figures 1 to 3, the belt buckle consists mainly of a
The mechanism mentioned comprises a U-shaped
The two
The plate-shaped and essentially rectangular blocking member 8 (FIG. 4) has a
The width of the
The
Above the
As can be seen better from FIG. 5, the
Preferably, the backward inclined position of the
Alternatively, the unlocking position of the locking member can also be ensured in that the side elongated
The
The buckle described works in the following way. The two, previously put together
