- à sectionner ensuite axialement le pourtour extérieur de l'embout tronconique obtenu, par effet de cisaille-guillotine à coupe verticale par exemple,
- et à redresser ensuite, par un emboutissage final, la paroi latérale tronconique de cet embouti afin d'obtenir une coupelle à paroi coaxiale, le bord de cette coupelle étant alors muni d'un chanfrein extérieur.

Claims (4)
- A method of making an external chamfer (3) on a cylindrical shaped piece starting from a flat metal piece, characterised in that it comprises:- firstly making a conical preform (6) of the piece to be obtained, by using a punch (10), the end piece of which has the shape of a truncated cone of angle (a) substantially equal to that of the chamfer (3) to be obtained, which truncated cone extends into a plane peripheral edge;- then axially severing the rim of the truncated conical shape (6) obtained; and- trueing up the side wall (7) of this shape (6), which side wall is in the shape of a truncated cone, by final shaping, to obtain a core (1) with a coaxial wall, the edge of which has then been provided with an external chamfer (3).
- A method according to Claim 1, characterised in that the side or apothem (7) of the truncated cone (6) has a constant length approximately equal to the height (H) of the core (1) to be obtained, and that its small base (5) has a diameter equal to that of the bottom of the core (1).
- A method according to one of Claims 1 or 2, characterised in that the three stages of the method are carried out successively at three different stations, each comprising a punch and die tool, with a transfer operation each time from one station to the following station.
- A method according to Claim 3, characterised in that the first stage is effected by shaping between a punch (10) and a die (11) in the shape of a truncated cone, that the second stage is effected by a punch (14) and die (15) which produce a guillotine-shearing effect, and that the third stage is effected using a bevelled press surround (19) and a cylindrical punch (23) and die (20), the said punch (23) having a diameter (d) less than that (D) of the said die (20).
