Dieses Rohr ersetzt das elektrisch und magnetisch ohnehin inaktive Spulenrohr aus Kunststoff, wie es normalerweise in Spulenkörpern vorhanden ist. Der Wickelraum oder der Kernquerschnitt werden dadurch nicht verändert. Durch den auf diese Weise erreichbaren kleinen Durchmesser und durch die Länge über den ganzen Bereich zwischen beiden Spulenflanschen läßt sich für das Kurzschlußrohr ein AR-Wert (Widerstandswert der Kurzschlußwindung) in der Größenordnung der Erregerwicklung erzielen. Als Isolationsschicht zwischen dem Kurzschlußrohr und dem Wickeldraht kann beispielsweise eine dünne Spritzhaut aus dem gleichen Kunststoff wie die Flansche dienen. Das Kontaktstück 7 am freien Ende der Feder 6 wirkt mit einem im Sockel verankerten Gegenkontaktelement 8 zusammen. Eine Kappe 9 bildet zusammen mit dem Sockel 1 ein geschlossenes und abdichtbares Gehäuse.
