Abstract
A sealable dispenser for the containment and orderly dispensation of napkins or handkerchiefs (19) of paper and the like, comprising a box (1) of comparatively stiff and lightweight cardboard or cardboard-like material, provided with overturning cover (2). The front (14) and upper walls of said box (1) are provided with a sealing element (17) which may be removed by a tear-off action, the removal of which causes the formation of side, front and top abutment means (116, 216, 114, 214) preventing any undesired escape of the paper napkins or handkerchiefs (19) contained in the dispenser.
Description
- The present invention relates to a sealable dispenser for containing and dispensing paper napkins or handkerchiefs, which may be obtained from a single diecut blank of thin cardboard.
- According to a main feature of the invention, the sealable dispenser for the containment and orderly dispensation of napkins or handkerchiefs of paper and the like, comprises a box of comparatively stiff and lightweight material, provided with overturning cover, the front and upper walls of said box being provided with a sealing element which may be removed by a tear-off action, the removal of which causes the formation of side, front and top abutment means preventing any undesired escape of the paper napkins or handkerchiefs contained in the dispenser.
- Further characteristics of the dispenser according to the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description thereof, made with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
- Fig. 1 is a planar development of the cardboard blank for making up the dispenser; and
- Figs. 2 to 6 show the assembled dispenser containing the napkins or handkerchiefs, in different steps of use.
- In the drawings, Fig. 1 shows the development of the cardboard blank for the construction of the dispenser according to the invention, namely the
box 1 provided with the overturningcover 2, shown in the Figs. 2 to 6. With reference to Fig. 1, the blank of cardboard or similar material, comprises one or more portions defined by folding lines and provided with glueing flaps, and a removable element defined by perforated or tear-off lines, as described better hereinafter. Thenumeral 3 indicates the part constituting the bottom of the dispenser, which is provided with two side extensions identical to each other and constituting theside walls extensions - Extending from the
bottom wall 3 is also the part constituting therear wall 7 of thebox 1, which is provided, in turn, with glueingflaps part 7 of the cardboard blank, in turn, has an extension constituting the rear stationary coveringpart 9 having pivotably connected thereto, along thehinge line 109, the part constituting the overturningcover 2. Said overturning cover part comprises apart 10 constituting the top wall of thecover 2 and apart 11 constituting the front wall thereof, in addition to a pair oftriangular gussets part 10, which are provided, in turn, with glueingflaps cover 2. The cardboard blank, on the side of thebottom wall 3 that is opposite to the side of therear wall 7, has afront wall part 14 provided with glueingflaps part 14 is the front stationary covering part of thebox 1. Formed partly on thefront wall 14 and partly on the coveringpart 16, is thesealing tab 17 which is defined by a perforated or tear-offline 117. The part of thetab 17 that is formed in thefront wall 14 has an isosceles trapezoid configuration, while the part of said tab extending in thecovering part 16 has a rectangular configuration. Thesealing tab 17, moreover, comprises asemicircular notch 18. All theparts 3 to 16 are separated from each other by folding lines, as shown in Fig. 1. By folding the cardboard blank described above along the illustrated folding lines, and by glueing the differents elements by the use of the glueing flaps 6, 6′; 8, 8′; 13, 13′ and 15, 15′ designed for this purpose, in a manner usual per se in the art, thebox 1 withcover 2 will be obtained which constitutes the dispenser according to the invention, shown in the Figures 2 to 6. - Said box is of substantially parallelepipedal shape. It accommodates therein a
stack 19 or a plurality of side-by-side stacks of tissue paper napkins or handkerchiefs, which are arranged therein prior to the final assembling of said box. By virtue of the fact that the overturningcover 2 is not hinged to the edge of the rear wall, but is hinged to theedge 109 of the rear stationary coveringpart 9, and by virtue of the fact that after removing thesealing tab 17 both the front stationary coveringpart 16 and thefront wall 14 of the box preserveside retaining portions napkins 19 cannot escape accidentally from the box. Moreover, the double creasing on theedge 109 of the cover permits the latter to stay open without turning, thus facilitating the withdrawal of the tissue napkins. - Figs. 2 to 6 show the different steps of use of the box according to the invention. More particularly, the
box 2 is shown in its initial condition, prior to the opening thereof, with thecover 2 closed, and with theremovable sealing tab 17 still secured to said box, as seen clearly in Fig. 3 wherein the cover has been overturned to its opened condition. Fig. 4 shows the initial step of removal of thesealing tab 17, and Fig. 5 shows the box according to the invention in its position of normal use, i.e. with thetab 17 completely removed. Finally, Fig. 6 shows the box in the condition of Fig. 5, with thecover 2 in its lowered position, covering both the top portion of the opening for the withdrawal of the tissues, and the opening in the front part of thebox 1. The advantages of the dispenser according to the invention will be apparent. It permits to dispenser a pack of tissue handkerchiefs or napkins in a sealed dispenser which may only be opened at the moment of the final use, while permitting, even when the dispenser has been opened, its temporary closure to protect its contents against dust or other pollution, and permitting at any moment an orderly withdrawal of the tissue handkerchiefs contained therein.
