Definitions
- the invention relates to a sales system according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Sales systems are known in which the individual lockers of a locker unit can be opened after a predetermined amount of money has been inserted. These known sales systems have the advantage that shopping can also take place after the shop closes. A disadvantage, however, is that the customer can only choose within the scope of the goods contained in the lockers.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to improve a sales system as mentioned at the outset in such a way that the customer who wishes to shop during or after the usual closing times is not limited to a range of goods offered by the dealer in the lockers, but can choose freely from the goods offered by different retailers.
- the main advantage of the sales system according to the invention is that the customer can also receive goods during the closing times, which he has previously selected freely from the entire range of goods offered in different shops.
- the customer can obtain access to the lockers equipped by one or more dealers after his order, especially during the closing hours, so that no additional sales personnel are required.
- Another important advantage of the invention is that the customer can place his orders for goods by telephone with one or more dealers without having to make any effort to do so in the shops.
- the telephone network of various shops is designed so that the customer after the telephone task an order in a retail store can be transferred from that retail store to another retail store. In this way it is ensured that the customer does not have to repeatedly select the different sales shops.
- Another significant advantage of the invention is that the customer is identified by the check unit through his check card, in particular through his euro check card or even his credit card, and that therefore after the respective amount of money and the respective dealer have been assigned to the account number, a debit from the customer's account can be made to a collective account of the sales community. This makes the payment process much easier for both the customer and the individual dealers in the sales community.
- the customer is advantageously assigned a special customer number which increases the security of the identification and with which he can gain access to this at a terminal of the locker room. In this way, possible vandalism is prevented since the group of people authorized to enter the sales room is significantly restricted. In addition, the limitation of Group of people a protective effect for the people in the locker room. It can also advantageously be ensured that only the persons for whom the goods are deposited have access to the locker room. This can be achieved by linking the computing unit, which the retailer enters the customer's account number, with the terminal at the entrance door to the locker room.
- part of the lockers is cooled by a special cooling unit, so that goods in need of cooling can be offered in this part.
- a special cooling unit it is therefore ensured that compartment doors are only released, but not open, so that no cold can escape.
- the customer is then given sufficient time by a time control to remove the goods.
- the compartment door is then closed automatically. If for any reason this time is not sufficient, the customer can reopen the compartment door by inserting his card again. Only through this special measure can it be achieved that several cooling compartments can be cooled by the same unit.
- the present sales system is suitable for the sale of various types of food, such as eg bakery, butchery and dairy products, as well as fruit and vegetables.
- various types of food such as eg bakery, butchery and dairy products, as well as fruit and vegetables.
- the present sales system it is also conceivable to use the present sales system to sell, for example, flowers or non-food goods, for example drugstores.
- the present system can distribute the goods of all retail areas.
- the present sales system essentially consists of a locker unit 1, which has a plurality of lockers 2, and a computing unit 3.
- Each locker 2 has a door or flap 4, which can preferably be locked electromagnetically.
- the computing unit 3 comprises at least one screen 5, a memory 11 and various control buttons 9, 10, 13, which will be explained in more detail later.
- the locker unit 2 and the computing unit 3 are located in a locker room 6, which is shown by broken lines in FIG. 1 and has an access door 7 also shown by broken lines.
- a terminal 8 Next to the access door 7 there is a terminal 8, in which a customer number assigned to a customer, for example a four-digit number, can be entered via a keyboard 8 'to open the door 7.
- a customer number assigned to a customer for example a four-digit number
- the opening of the access door 7 by inserting a credit or check card is preferably not thought of, since misuse of check or credit cards would be encouraged. For example, lost cards could be used by the finders to illegally gain access to the locker room 6.
- Entering the customer number via a keyboard 8 ' is advantageous because if a slot is provided for inserting a special magnetic card containing the customer number, the slot could be clogged very easily, for example by chewing gum. In this case, the entire system would be shut down.
- the Keyboard 8 'piezoelectric keys on which are not disturbing in this regard.
- the locker room 6 is located in a building in which there are several different shops which sell their goods in particular during the usual shop closing times via the lockers 2. But goods can also be bought unattended during store opening hours. This avoids long waiting times.
- the distribution of goods via the lockers 2 works in the following way. During normal sales hours, a customer authorized to purchase calls one of the stores mentioned and, after giving his name and customer number, which is the identifier for the purchase of goods, orders the goods he wants.
- the telephone system is preferably designed in such a way that each retailer of each shop can transfer an incoming call to any other shop after accepting an order, so that a customer who wants to order goods in various shops in the building can be referred directly. He therefore does not have to select every shop separately.
- the dealer After receiving an order, the dealer assembles the ordered goods and carries them into the locker room 6, to which the dealers have access, for example, via their own door or through door 7 after entering the dealer code at terminal 8.
- the dealer By pressing the key 9 'of a keyboard 9 on the computing unit 3, the dealer now enters various information into the memory 11 of the computing unit 3.
- This information relates to the customer number, the price of the goods to be stored in a locker 2 and information identifying the corresponding store or dealer (dealer code), which is provided by the dealer, preferably by inserting a magnetic card into the slot 12 of a reader and additionally entering a PIN Codes is entered into the keyboard 9.
- the last-mentioned information is preferably contained on a magnetic card, which the dealer pushes into a slot 12 in the computing unit 3.
- the computer of the computing unit 3 determines the detailed account number from the preferably 4-digit customer number. The dealer therefore does not have to enter the account numbers up to 10 digits or larger. The dealer can also use the keyboard 9 (special code) or by pressing a special key to enter whether he wants a cooled or no cooled compartment (Fig. 2).
- the computing unit 3 uses the majority of the lockers 2 to designate an empty locker 2 if no locker 2 has been provided for the corresponding customer or for the account number assigned to him. This locker 2 is displayed to the dealer on the screen 5.
- the computing unit 3 then delivers an unlocking signal to the electromagnetic locking mechanism of the designated locker 2, so that the flap 4 of this locker 2 can be opened (FIG. 2).
- this locker 2 which already contains goods, is displayed on the screen 5 and unlocked in the manner described above, so that the dealer can also add the new goods in can deposit the locker 2. If the opened locker 2 is already too full for storing the new goods, the dealer inputs this to the computing unit 3, for example by pressing a request button 10, whereupon a new, empty locker 2 is displayed on the screen 5.
- the computing unit 3 has the already mentioned read-only memory 11 '.
- this memory 11 ' for example, up to 10,000 or more customer numbers, as well as the corresponding account numbers and addresses of the persons authorized to purchase are stored. This information is entered into the memory 11 'for the first time when customers declare their participation in the system.
- the customer To remove the goods provided for him in one or more lockers 2, the customer first gets access to the locker room 6 in the manner already described above by entering his customer number into the keyboard 8 'of the terminal 8. The customer now leads to the computing unit 3 his check or credit card into slot 12 of an ID reader. After the account number of the customer has been read into the computing unit 3 or the memory 11 in this way, and the customer has identified himself preferably by additionally keying in his customer number, the screen 5 shows in which locker 2 or in which lockers 2 the provided goods are. At the same time, the amount to be paid is displayed. If the customer acknowledges this amount, he presses an acknowledgment button 13. Only after this acknowledgment button 13 is actuated is a signal for unlocking the electromagnetic locking mechanism of the corresponding locker 2 emitted det. The amount to be paid is stored in the memory 11 together with the account number of the customer and the information identifying the dealer (dealer code) (FIG. 3).
- an authorized person generates a command for data output to the memory 11, preferably by inserting a magnetic card into the slot 12 of the computing unit 3 and expediently by additionally entering a PIN code on the keyboard 9.
- the memory 11 transmits the information contained therein, which was stored for a predetermined past period of time and which corresponds to the booking data to be evaluated by the bank or by the sales community, to a diskette drive 16.
- the data mentioned are stored there on one or more diskettes written, which are given to the bank or the sales community for evaluation after removal from the floppy disk drive 16.
- the data mentioned include the address of the respective customer, his account number and the respective price for each sales transaction. In this way it is possible to debit the amounts due for the individual sales transactions from the accounts of the respective customers and to credit the account of the sales community.
- This long-term log 17 contains the following information for each sales transaction: name and address of the customer, account number of the customer, price and dealer code. In this way, based on this information, total account management for the dealer accounts can be carried out.
- all lockers 2 are cleared, for example, once a day, preferably in the morning.
- the cleared lockers 2 are then entered into the memory 11 as not occupied, so that the lockers 2 can subsequently be reassigned.
- a movement switch 15 can be provided in the room 6, which switches on the room lighting 16, which is switched on in the evening either when the customer number is entered at the terminal 8 or when the door 7 is opened for a predetermined switch-on time, for each movement detected in the locker room 6. This ensures that the lighting 16 is automatically switched on again after the predetermined switch-on time has elapsed will, as long as people are in the locker room 6 or move.
- a television camera can also be provided in the locker room 6, the image signals of which are recorded by a long-term recorder, so that processes which have taken place in the locker room 6 can be reproduced at any time.
- the lockers 2 to be cooled can be cooled by a single cooling unit, from which the cooled air is evenly conveyed to the individual lockers 2, because care is taken to ensure that when an electromagnetic locking mechanism is actuated by means of a release signal from the computing unit 3, each flap 4 released for opening by the customer is held in the closed position by a special mechanism. Since this mechanism also ensures that the opened flap 4 is immediately brought back into the closed position when released by the customer, it is always ensured that as little cold air as possible flows out during the opening operation. Only the measure described makes it possible to cool all lockers 2 to be cooled economically by means of a single cooling unit, because during the opening operations it is prevented that a flap is accidentally not closed again. In in this case, the cooled air generated by the cooling unit would be lost by flowing out of said open locker 2. This would cause the entire cooling function to malfunction.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a sales system according to the preamble of
Sales systems are known in which the individual lockers of a locker unit can be opened after a predetermined amount of money has been inserted. These known sales systems have the advantage that shopping can also take place after the shop closes. A disadvantage, however, is that the customer can only choose within the scope of the goods contained in the lockers.
The object of the present invention is therefore to improve a sales system as mentioned at the outset in such a way that the customer who wishes to shop during or after the usual closing times is not limited to a range of goods offered by the dealer in the lockers, but can choose freely from the goods offered by different retailers.
This object is achieved by a sales system as mentioned at the outset, which is characterized by the features specified in the characterizing part of
The main advantage of the sales system according to the invention is that the customer can also receive goods during the closing times, which he has previously selected freely from the entire range of goods offered in different shops.
Advantageously, the customer can obtain access to the lockers equipped by one or more dealers after his order, especially during the closing hours, so that no additional sales personnel are required.
Another important advantage of the invention is that the customer can place his orders for goods by telephone with one or more dealers without having to make any effort to do so in the shops. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the telephone network of various shops is designed so that the customer after the telephone task an order in a retail store can be transferred from that retail store to another retail store. In this way it is ensured that the customer does not have to repeatedly select the different sales shops.
Another significant advantage of the invention is that the customer is identified by the check unit through his check card, in particular through his euro check card or even his credit card, and that therefore after the respective amount of money and the respective dealer have been assigned to the account number, a debit from the customer's account can be made to a collective account of the sales community. This makes the payment process much easier for both the customer and the individual dealers in the sales community.
In addition to his account number, which is read from the check or credit card, the customer is advantageously assigned a special customer number which increases the security of the identification and with which he can gain access to this at a terminal of the locker room.
In a preferred embodiment, part of the lockers is cooled by a special cooling unit, so that goods in need of cooling can be offered in this part. According to a very important feature of the invention, it is therefore ensured that compartment doors are only released, but not open, so that no cold can escape. The customer is then given sufficient time by a time control to remove the goods. The compartment door is then closed automatically. If for any reason this time is not sufficient, the customer can reopen the compartment door by inserting his card again. Only through this special measure can it be achieved that several cooling compartments can be cooled by the same unit.
In particular, the present sales system is suitable for the sale of various types of food, such as eg bakery, butchery and dairy products, as well as fruit and vegetables. However, it is also conceivable to use the present sales system to sell, for example, flowers or non-food goods, for example drugstores. Generally speaking, the present system can distribute the goods of all retail areas.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention emerge from the subclaims.
- 1 shows a schematic representation of a locker room with a present locker unit and a computing unit; and
- 2 to 4 are illustrations for explaining the principle of the present invention.
The present sales system essentially consists of a
The
The
The distribution of goods via the
The telephone system is preferably designed in such a way that each retailer of each shop can transfer an incoming call to any other shop after accepting an order, so that a customer who wants to order goods in various shops in the building can be referred directly. He therefore does not have to select every shop separately.
After receiving an order, the dealer assembles the ordered goods and carries them into the
The
In the case in which a
In order to be able to perform the above operations, the
To remove the goods provided for him in one or
The payment process is now explained in detail below in connection with FIG. 4. First, an authorized person generates a command for data output to the
Information is sent from the
In order to prevent perishable goods from remaining in cleared
A television camera can also be provided in the
Of particular importance is the fact that the
