Description

The invention relates to a sieve drum device for flowing heat treatment of gas-permeable webs, such as textile goods, with an essentially closed housing, the interior of which is divided by a wall into a treatment and a fan room, with at least one under suction in the treatment room as a transport element , rotatably supported in the peripheral area not covered by the material, and this is assigned a fan on the front side in the fan space, which blows the treatment gas extracted from the screening drum after heating by means of an associated heating device back into the treatment area via a perforated screen cover concentrically surrounding the screening drum.

A device of this type is known from DE-A-3006758. The screen cover concentrically surrounding the screen drum has the advantage that the air flowing into the screen drum is not only stowed in front of the screen cover, but also flows more evenly over the circumference onto the screen drum. A disadvantage of this construction, however, is that if any material to be treated should jam on the sieve drum, a knot could possibly arise in the narrowed space between the sieve cover and the sieve drum, and then this knot can hardly be untangled. It is also only possible to clean the screen cover under difficult conditions, because the screen cover surrounds the screen drum tightly all around and thus cleaning devices cannot get to the underside of the screen cover.

On the basis of the device initially mentioned, the object of the invention is to build a screen drum device in which the advantages of the concentric arrangement of the screen cover are preserved, but the disadvantages of which are avoided.

To achieve this object, the invention provides that the screen cover away from the sieve drum, is pivoted in the treatment room. Thus, for example, when cleaning the screen cover of fluff, this can easily be reached on the underside of the screen cover, or if the material is jammed, these knots can easily be removed from the screen drum. It is expedient to effect the movement of the screen cover from a point outside the housing, for which purpose the screen cover should be suspended on a chain or the like which runs over a wheel which can be moved from the outside.

A particularly favorable construction is conceivable for a sieve drum device in which a plurality of sieve drums are arranged one behind the other and the sieve cover of the first sieve drum is pivotably mounted in the well running area and the sieve cover of the second sieve drum is pivotable. In such a case, the mutually facing ends of the two screen covers are firmly connected to one another via a chain or the like, and this chain is deflected around a wheel which is arranged at a distance from the screen covers in the treatment room. If the wheel around which the chain or the like is placed is now rotated from the outside, then at the same time both sieve covers either move outwards, that is to say away from the assigned sieve drum, or in the opposite position again into the operating position.

The construction of a screen drum device is generally known. The web 2 drawn off from a dock 1 is guided into the screening drum device, the screening drums of which are surrounded by the housing 3. Within this housing, two screening drums 4, 5 are arranged horizontally one behind the other and are wrapped in a meandering shape by the textile material 2. After the heat treatment on the two sieve drums 4, 5, the textile material 2 runs over a cooling drum 6 back onto a dock 7.

According to FIG. 2, the housing 1 of the screen drum device is divided by the wall 8 into a treatment room 9 and a fan room 10. At the end of the sieve drums 4, 5, the fan 11 is arranged centrally to each of these in the fan chamber, which ventilates the treatment air from the sieve drum and blows back into the treatment chamber 9 according to the arrows. On the way from the fan 11 to the treatment room, the air is heated by means of the heating device 13. In the area of the screening drums 4, 5 not covered by the material 2, the respective screening drum has an inner cover 12.

The sieve cover 14 arranged in the treatment room to equalize the treatment air over the working width of the sieve drum is arranged concentrically around the two sieve drums 4, 5 according to FIG. Because of this constant distance between the screen cover 14 and the respective screening drum 4, 5, a more uniform distribution of the treatment air over the working width and also over the circumference of the screening drum is ensured. In order to be able to remove the screen covers from this operating position, the two screen covers 14, 15 are each pivoted about a joint 16, 17. The joint 17 is provided in the first sieve drum 4 in the well running area and in the second sieve drum 5 the joint 16 is provided in the well running area of the drum. Thus the mutually facing ends of the two screen covers 14, 15 can each be pivoted upwards or downwards. As can be seen from FIG. 1, these free ends of the screen covers are firmly connected to a chain 18 which is placed over a gear wheel 19 above the two screen drums 4, 5. If this pinion 19 now rotates to the left according to FIG. 1, then both screen covers 14, 15 are pivoted away from the assigned screen drum. With the opposite rotation, the screen covers can easily be brought back into the operating position without the operator having to reach into the treatment device. To achieve this, the gears 19, 19 'according to Figure 2 are arranged on an axis 20 which penetrates through the housing 1 to the outside and is therefore easily rotatable from there according to the arrow 21.
