Definitions
- the invention relates to manhole covers with a hinge and mechanical or hydraulic / pneumatic opening aid and a lock in the closed state.
- manhole covers are often installed where they must serve as an escape and entry cover. For this purpose, they must be able to be opened and closed easily from above and below.
- screw fasteners As a closure for such manhole covers.
- These screw fasteners consist of a bolt to be operated from above and a sash tongue which, when the bolt is actuated, swivels into the closed position under a frame projection and is then braced against this projection. So that the sash does not automatically release itself when shaken, the stop surface under the projection is provided with the opposite inclination (DE-GM 75 24 138).
- the screw bolt which is extended beyond the cam tongue, has a screw lever which can be engaged with the screw bolt which is rotatably mounted on the screw bolt.
- the screw bolt can now be easily operated from below, so that the sash tongue can be loosened or tensioned.
- a cross pin inserted into the screw bolt and cross recesses cooperating therewith on the hub of the screw lever preferably serve as the engagement element.
- the screw lever is at rest preferably disengaged by a compression spring. To tighten or loosen, the screw lever is pulled down into the catches and then turned. If the screw bolt is actuated from above, the screw lever is also rotated by friction until it hits the wall of the shaft, but can then continue to rotate freely.
- the screw lever has a hub that contains the cross recesses for the cross pin, and that the hub is connected via a horizontal joint to the screw lever having a fork head, which thus hangs freely when not in use and is actuated of the bolt can turn.
- the hub then no longer contains a compression spring and is constantly engaged. To move it by 90 ° it only needs to be lifted slightly.
- the shaft lever 1 contains, in a bracket 2, a guided screw bolt 3 with a double-sided sash tongue 4, the rear end of which is supported on an adjustable screw 5.
- a projection 7 is provided on the frame 6, which is undercut by the sash tongue 4.
- the projection 7 has an angular extension 8, against which the sash tongue strikes when the screw bolt is tightened.
- a screw lever 9 with hub 10 is freely rotatable.
- the lower end of the hub 10 has two cross slots 11, which can cooperate with a cross pin 12 when the screw lever 9 is pulled down and locked against the force of the compression spring 13. After a quarter turn, the screw lever is raised, turned back and snapped back into place. This is possible both in the open and in the closed position. The force to open or close the sash is very low due to the reduction in the thread and the lever ratio.
- the screw bolt 3 can be smooth without thread in the lower section. This enables better guidance of the hub and reduces the risk of the screw lever tilting.
- Fig. 2 shows the manhole cover 1 and the guidance of the bolt 3 unchanged.
- the hub 10 'of the screw lever 9' is constantly engaged. Instead of the horizontal lever arm, the hub has a hinge joint 14 in which the fork-shaped head 15 of the screw lever 9 'is mounted.
- the screw lever hangs down when not in use and does not hit the shaft wall when the screw bolt is turned. To loosen or close the sash from below, swing it up and then turn it 90 °. It can then be snapped out and snapped in again at a 90 ° offset. A special guidance of the hub on the screw bolt is not necessary here.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 3 contains, at the lower end of the screw bolt 23, a hexagon 24 fastened by means of a transverse pin 22, to which a hexagon socket in the hub 25 of the screw lever 26 corresponds. In the rest position, the screw lever 26 lies on the projecting transverse pin 22.
- a compression spring 28 and a tubular sleeve 29 are inserted between the collar 27 of the hexagon 24 and the cam tongue 4. The compression spring is used to limit the lower position of the sash tongue, and the compression spring is used to transmit the torque from the hexagon to the sash tongue so that it is pivoted into the release position the moment it is released from the underside of the frame.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to manhole covers with a hinge and mechanical or hydraulic / pneumatic opening aid and a lock in the closed state. Such manhole covers are often installed where they must serve as an escape and entry cover. For this purpose, they must be able to be opened and closed easily from above and below.
It is known to use so-called screw fasteners as a closure for such manhole covers. These screw fasteners consist of a bolt to be operated from above and a sash tongue which, when the bolt is actuated, swivels into the closed position under a frame projection and is then braced against this projection. So that the sash does not automatically release itself when shaken, the stop surface under the projection is provided with the opposite inclination (DE-GM 75 24 138).
In order to enable the cover to be opened from below, this is the case with a previously known manhole cover of this type Cam tongue extended on the other side as a handle. In the event of flight, the sash can be released from below by swiveling the handle (DE-OS 32 48 525). It can easily be reclosed from above by pivoting the cam tongue into the closed position and then tightening it by operating the screw bolt.
This type of closure has several disadvantages. The above-mentioned inclination of the stop surface cannot be used here, because then the lock could no longer be opened from below in an emergency. The force to open the tensioned cam is very high despite the long lever arm. And finally, reclosing from below is not possible because this requires more than just a quarter turn of the sash tongue.
The object of providing a lock which can be easily opened and closed both from above and from below is now achieved according to the invention in that the screw bolt, which is extended beyond the cam tongue, has a screw lever which can be engaged with the screw bolt which is rotatably mounted on the screw bolt. With this screw lever, the screw bolt can now be easily operated from below, so that the sash tongue can be loosened or tensioned. A cross pin inserted into the screw bolt and cross recesses cooperating therewith on the hub of the screw lever preferably serve as the engagement element. The screw lever is at rest preferably disengaged by a compression spring. To tighten or loosen, the screw lever is pulled down into the catches and then turned. If the screw bolt is actuated from above, the screw lever is also rotated by friction until it hits the wall of the shaft, but can then continue to rotate freely.
Another design provides that the screw lever has a hub that contains the cross recesses for the cross pin, and that the hub is connected via a horizontal joint to the screw lever having a fork head, which thus hangs freely when not in use and is actuated of the bolt can turn. The hub then no longer contains a compression spring and is constantly engaged. To move it by 90 ° it only needs to be lifted slightly.
Of course there are other types of actuation for the hub, e.g. in the form of a lug, which can be adjusted with an adjusting lever to loosen or tighten the screw bolt.
In the drawings, the three designs are shown in detail in the vertical longitudinal section. 1, the
On the extended end of the
The
Fig. 2 shows the
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 contains, at the lower end of the
