Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for forming a leno selvedge consisting of mutually moving heald frames, a needle holder being attached to one heald frame and a thread guide device being attached to the other heald frame, and the needle holder having two parallel frame rails having a thread guide element that is movable and braked relative to the thread guide device.
From DE-GM 79 31 872 a device for forming a leno edge of the type mentioned is known. It has been shown that the thread guide element is subject to relatively high wear due to its small lateral contact surface on the frame rails. In addition, however, the rack rails provided for guiding the thread guide element also wear out extremely quickly, because the magnets are in direct contact with the metal of the rack rails.
The invention is therefore based on the object to change the device of the type mentioned so that the wear of both the thread guide element and the frame rails is reduced.
This is achieved according to the invention in that the thread guide element has an enlarged sliding surface.
By increasing the sliding surface, the surface pressure of the thread guide element on the frame rails is reduced, so that there is a reduction in wear. A further reduction in wear is achieved in particular in that the thread guide element has magnets in the region of the enlarged sliding surface, the magnets being embedded in the sliding surface in such a way that the upper edge of the magnets lies lower than the sliding surface. The thread guide element known from the prior art has the tendency to tilt due to the arrangement of the magnets and the magnetic forces that occur. This inclination is counteracted by the arrangement of the magnets on only one side of the thread guide element, so that the thread guide element now has the endeavor to lie flat on the respective frame rail. The opposite frame rail only serves to guide the thread guide element to the front and back; touching the sliding edge of this frame rail by the thread guide element is virtually impossible. Should a frame rail wear out despite the special design of the thread guide element, it is possible to use a new thread guide element so that its sliding surface now lies against the frame rail, which is not yet worn.
According to a further feature of the invention, the thread guide device consists of a carrier for receiving a second thread guide element, driving elements being arranged on both sides at a distance from the thread guide element on the carrier, which in the assembled state of the needle holder and carrier are in the two parallel frame rails of the needle holder protrude into the formed space. This causes the relative movement of the thread guide element arranged in the frame rails to the second thread guide element arranged in the carrier.
In order to ensure that the entrainment elements arranged on the carrier can always grasp the thread guide element guided in the frame rails from the broad side, the ends of the sliding surface of the thread guide element guided in the frame rails are chamfered. It is hereby avoided that the driving elements run against the front edge of the sliding surface.
In order to further ensure that the sliding surface is always in the area of the carrier elements of the carrier, the sliding surface has a length which corresponds approximately to the distance between the two carrier elements to one another plus their length.

According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the device for forming a leno selvedge consists of reciprocally moving
The needle holder 2 has two
According to FIG. 4, the
5 in Berührung stehen. The sliding
The length of the
