Description

The subject matter of the invention relates to a dishwasher with a ventilation duct that starts from the wash cabinet and can be closed by a program-controlled shut-off valve to remove the moist air from the wash cabinet during the drying process, the ventilation duct opening into a separate fresh air duct and for transporting the exhaust air from the wash cabinet and the fresh air a blower is provided through the fresh air duct.

Such a dishwasher is known from DE-OS 3 418 304.

In the known dishwasher, the shut-off valve in the ventilation channel is opened to remove the moist, hot air from the wash cabinet in the drying program section, so that the moist exhaust air from the wash cabinet can be released into the surroundings of the appliance without any significant steam being produced, with the addition of dry fresh air. A blower, which is assigned to both channels, supports the transport of the exhaust air through the ventilation duct and the fresh air to be mixed in and guided in the door-side fresh air duct.

If the drying air is discharged directly from the wash cabinet into the surroundings of the machine, it may be possible to perceive a disruptive odor development, for example the chlorine in the detergent or rinsed food residues such as egg residues or the like that are caught on the radiators.

The invention has for its object to form a dishwasher of the type mentioned with simple means so that no annoying odor occurs in the drying program section.

The object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen gehen aus den Unteransprüchen hervor.Advantageous configurations emerge from the subclaims.

Due to the arrangement of a secondary air duct connected in parallel to the ventilation duct, which on the one hand attaches to the ventilation duct in front of the shut-off valve and on the other hand is returned to the wash cabinet, pure air recirculation mode can be carried out in the drying program section when the shut-off valve is closed, so that no odors can escape from the wash cabinet . This secondary air duct can be manufactured quickly and easily without great design effort. On the other hand, it is also possible to carry out the drying process in time-controlled air recirculation / exhaust air mode, with the shut-off valve being kept closed for a certain time when the dishes start drying and only opened by the machine program after this time has expired. In many cases, a brief recirculation mode is sufficient to eliminate unpleasant smells inside the machine. In addition, an exhaust air operation is optionally possible with additional odor elimination through the use of exchangeable odor filters.

The following description serves to explain the subject matter according to the invention, of which an exemplary embodiment is shown in the drawing.

The figure shows a detail of a dishwasher (1) in a side view in longitudinal section. With (2) the washing compartment of the dishwasher (1) is designated, which can be closed via a door (3). To remove the moist air from the wash cabinet during the drying process, the upper part of the door (3) has a ventilation channel (4) extending from the wash cabinet (2), which opens into a separate fresh air channel (5). Both channels are separated from each other in terms of flow by an intermediate wall (6), the fresh air channel (5) being connected to the ambient air via an inlet opening (not shown), preferably located in the lower part of the door (3). The ventilation duct (4) and the fresh air duct (5) are followed by a mixing chamber (7) which is provided with a ventilation opening (8) of the dishwasher (1) leading to the outside. A shut-off valve (9) is arranged in the ventilation duct (4) or in the opening to the fresh air duct (5), which can be controlled by a program into an open position or into a locking position, as shown.

A secondary air channel (10) is also connected in parallel to the ventilation channel (4), which on the one hand ends in the wash cabinet (2) below the inlet opening of the ventilation channel and on the other hand opens into the ventilation channel (4) in front of the shut-off valve (9).

When the shut-off valve (9) is closed, a drying process in circulating air mode is possible, whereby no odors can escape from the machine due to the drying air circulating inside the machine. A time-controlled, combined exhaust air-recirculation mode is also possible, the shut-off valve (9) in the drying program section only being opened after a predetermined period of time has elapsed. This period of time is dimensioned so that any odors that may occur during drying of the dishes are automatically removed within the machine. As an additional measure for odor control, the exhaust air from the washing compartment (2), via a preferably removable odor filter (11), such as a carbon filter or the like., Can be performed, which, for example, seen in the ventilation duct (4) in the flow direction of the exhaust g behind the Abzwei for the secondary air duct (10) is arranged. The odor filter (11) can also be installed in the ventilation opening (8) of the dishwasher. This means that odor removal is possible even with pure exhaust air operation.

To circulate the drying air in the wash cabinet (2) during recirculation mode or to convey the exhaust air from the wash cabinet (2) during exhaust air operation and to convey the fresh air from the ambient air, there is a common fan (12) with two separate impellers (13 and 14) provided in a manner known per se. This is an impeller (13) Vent channel (4) and the other impeller (14) assigned to the fresh air channel (5). The two impellers are matched to one another in such a way that they convey air quantities in a coordinated ratio, the impeller (13) on the suction side being connected to the washing compartment (2) and the impeller (14) on the suction side being connected to the fresh air duct (5) or the ambient air. The delivery rates of the two impellers (13 and 14) of the blower (12) are determined so that the dew point of the air mixture emerging from the machine during exhaust air operation is not undercut, so that no disturbing condensation can occur outside the machine.

The above-mentioned secondary air duct (10), which branches off from the ventilation duct (4) on the pressure side of the impeller (13) of the fan (12), is expediently designed as a flexible, detachable hose line, the outlet opening (15) of which ends in the lower door region, for example on the inside of the door installed detergent or rinse aid dispenser (not shown) could be provided. This arrangement of the outlet opening (15) of the continuously open secondary air duct (10) is advantageous because no additional mounting openings on the inner door panel of the dishwasher (1) are required.
