Wegen der geringen vertikalen Erstreckung von Rost und Rahmen sind die Verriegelungsteile zwangsläufig sehr kurz, was dazu führt, dass die die Verriegelung bewirkende Ueberlappung verhältnismässig gering ist und dennoch zur Entriegelung eine beträchtliche Deformation der Verriegelungsteile in Kauf genommen werden muss. Dabei kann eine Verbesserung der Ueberlappung offenbar nur mit verstärkter Deformation beim Entriegeln erkauft werden. Starke Deformation ist jedoch wegen des bei der notwendig widerstandsfähigen Ausbildung der Verriegelungsteile erforderlichen hohen Kraftaufwands bei der Entriegelung sowie wegen der Gefahr einer Beschädigung oder Ermüdung des Materials unerwünscht. - Device for securing a covering which closes an opening and comprises a substantially dimensionally stable frame (1) and at least one cover or grating (2), also substantially dimensionally stable and manufactured in one piece, which device comprises at least one locking arrangement (7) having a locking part attached to the frame (1) or to the cover or grating (2), which locking part is formed as a web (8) elastically deformable in the plane of the cover or grating (2) and of the frame (1), respectively, and grips under a projection on the frame (1) and over a projection on the cover or grating (2), respectively, and can be unlocked by elastic deformation, characterised in that at least one locking arrangement (7) is arranged on one side of the cover or grating, while there is provided on the opposite side a swivel bearing (16, 38, 43), the swivel bearing comprising at least one pivot pin (16) fastened near the front ends of the cover or grating and a respective bearing groove (38, 43) in the frame (1) for receiving a pivot pin (16).
