Description
The present invention relates to an arrangement for connecting several transmitters and receivers assigned to different frequency channels to a common antenna with the aid of circulators connected in chains, one transmitter and one receiver being connected to one of the circulators via a filter branch.
Eine derartige Anordnung ist aus PATENT ABSTRACTS OF JAPAN, Band 9, Nr. 47 (E-299) [1770], 27. Februar 1985; & JP-A-59 182 408 (NIPPON DENKI K.K) 22-10-1984 bekannt. Such an arrangement is described in PATENT ABSTRACTS OF JAPAN, Volume 9, No. 47 (E-299) [1770], February 27, 1985; & JP-A-59 182 408 (NIPPON DENKI K.K) 22-10-1984. Here the circulator chain with its start and end circulator is connected to the antenna via a further circulator. This additional circulator has the effect that the transmitted signals and the received signals reach the antenna from the transmitters or the receivers in separate ways. In this known arrangement, one circulator is always required more than there are transmitter / receiver pairs.
A connection of transmitters and receivers to an antenna known from DE-B-26 41 875 consists of a chain of circulators, to the gates of which a transmitter or a receiver is connected. The transmitters and receivers are connected to the circulator chain either individually or in groups. With n receivers and m transmitters, at least (n + m) -1 circulators are required here.
The invention is based on the object of specifying an arrangement of the type mentioned at the outset which manages with as few circulators as possible in order to keep the attenuation of the transmit and receive signals low.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of
Appropriate embodiments of the invention emerge from the subclaims.
The arrangement of the invention manages with n transceiver pairs with n-1 circulators. In contrast, the state of the art requires n + 1 circulators for n transmitter / receiver pairs.
B. in Richtfunkstationen eingesetzten Anordnung auswirkt.Compared to the prior art, the invention saves a considerable number of circulators, which is particularly advantageous in terms of the space required for such a z. B. affects arrangement used in radio stations.
Based on an embodiment shown in the drawing, the invention is explained in more detail below.
The arrangement shown in the figure consists of a chain connection of several circulators Z1 ... Zn-1, an antenna A connected to an arm of the first circulator Z1 of the chain and several transmitters S1 ... Sn and receivers E1 ... assigned to different frequency channels. En. A transmitter / receiver pair S1 / E1, ..., Sn / En is connected to each circulator arm that is not connected to an adjacent circulator in the chain or to antenna A. For each transmitter / receiver pair of transmitters S1, ..., Sn and receiver E1, ..., En are connected via a filter branch W1, .., Wn to a common output or input connected to a circulator arm . The filter branching W1, .., Wn has two frequency passbands, one of which is tuned to the frequency channel of the connected transmitter S1, ..., Sn and the other to the frequency channel of the connected receiver E1, ..., En. All other frequency channels from neighboring transmitter / receiver pairs are reflected at the filter junction.
For example, in the directions of rotation of the circulators Z1 ... Zn-1 shown in the drawing, a reception signal picked up by the antenna A and intended for the receiver E2 is first switched through from the first circulator Z1 to the last circulator Zn-1, then from the last circulator Zn -1 of the chain connected to the filter branch Wn of the last transmitter / receiver pair Sn / En, reflected on it and fed back to the last circulator Zn-1, which forwards it back to the penultimate circulator. In this way, the received signal finally arrives after reflections on all the filter branches that are not tuned to its frequency band, from the end of the circulator chain back to the crossover that is tuned to pass for the received signal frequency.
A transmission signal that is to be emitted by antenna A is, in the circulator direction of rotation specified in the present exemplary embodiment, switched through through the circulator chain to the first circulator Z1 of the chain and from there to antenna A. The path of the signal leads over all filter branches reflecting the signal of those transmitter / receiver pairs which are connected to the circulator chain between the transmitter which emits the signal and the antenna.
If two radio stations of a communication link are equipped with arrangements of the type described above and shown in the figure, it is ensured that all signal transmission paths assigned to the existing frequency channels between transmitters and receivers of the two radio stations have the same number of circulator passes, that is to say they experience the same attenuation. The total number of circulators that a signal emitted by a transmitter in one radio station travels to the radiating antenna of this radio station and the circulators that the signal received in another radio station travels from the antenna to the receiver is the same for all frequency channels .
The arrangement of the invention can be easily supplemented by further transmitter / receiver pairs by inserting one or more circulators with transmitter / receiver pairs into the circulator chain. This does not change the principle that all signal transmission paths have the same number of circulator passes.
