Claims (6)

1. Apparatus for heating heat-accumulating food-warmer plates (4), including a housing (1) into which a plurality of food-warmer plates (4) may be slid through slots (3) in a wall (2) of the housing, and in which an electrical heating device is located, characterized in that the heating device comprises heating elements (8) which are each individually associated with a respective one of the food-warmer plates (4) in the housing (1) for heating this foodwarmer plate, in that a switch (15, 17) is provided for switching each heating element (8) on and off, said switch being actuated by the respective associated food-warmer plate (4) in the inserted position thereof, and in that each heating element (8) is arranged to also be switched off by an associated thermostatic switch (14) located in the housing (1), said thermostatic switch being controlled by a temperature sensor (10) which is arranged to sense the temperature of the respective associated food-warmer plate (4).
2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that each temperature sensor (10) comprises a heat transfer body which is arranged to be moved by the respective associated food- warmer plate (4) in the inserted position thereof and to which the thermostatic switch (14) is attached, and in that terminals (15) of the thermostatic switch (14) together with stationary contacts (17) form the respective first-named switch (15, 17).
3. Apparatus according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a pilot lamp (19) is associated with each heating element (8), said lamp being lit when the heating element (8) is switched on.
4. Apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a pilot lamp (20) is associated with each heating element (8), said lamp being lit when both the first switch (15,17) is closed and at the same time the thermostatic switch (14) is open.
5. Apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that locking means (21) are mounted in the housing (1) for each food-warmer plate (4), so as to lock the food-warmer plate (4) in the fully inserted position.
6. Apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that each heating element (8) is mounted in the housing (1) beneath the respective associated food-warmer plate (4), and an associated heat radiation shield (9) is provided beneath the heating element (8).
