Abstract

A fashion trim article for the protection and decoration of corners of cloth such as collars and ties comprises an angled enclosure formed and stamped from a sheet and having a front plate with bent-up and -over side sections and a back plate spaced from the front plate for receiving therebetween the cloth corner. The back plate has outwardly bent parallel bearing wall sections with opposite bores receiving the bearing pins of a pivotable retaining flap provided with a tab projecting into the opening defined between the bearing wall sections for engaging the cloth material introduced into the space between the front and back plates. The tab on the retaining flap not only engages the material to retain the material but also moves the material further into the trim member when the flap is closed.

Description

The invention relates to fashionable edging corners for protecting and decorating the corners of clothing, such as collars and cuffs of jackets and shirts, jackets, ties, etc., consisting of a pocket converging at an obtuse to acute angle, formed from a plate forming the front side, over side stripes is connected to a back plate, on the back plate, bridging an opening in the back plate, pivotably arranged a locking flap which engages in the pocket during its pivoting movement.

Such edging corners have hitherto been produced in a very complex manufacturing process only as shirt collar edging corners. So the bags are first produced as castings, with bearing blocks formed on the opening of the rear plate, if these bearing blocks are drilled through, if a safety flap is also made using the casting process, this safety flap is also drilled accordingly and then both parts are articulated together by inserting a wire. Not only is the production of the castings quite complex, but also their cleaning and in particular the drilling of the holes in these parts. It is then difficult again to insert the articulated wire together with its cutting and overcasting. Border corners manufactured in this way have therefore not yet been widely used, simply because they are much too expensive until they can ultimately be bought by the end user.

In addition, the safety flap or the hinge-like connection between the safety flap and the pocket in this construction represents a one-armed lever, i.e. when pivoting the safety flap, only prick the mandrel tips attached to it into the fabric of the shirt collar and thus hold the edging corner. However, if the corner is not completely pushed onto the tip of the shirt collar, this valuable part can still be lost.

The object of the invention is therefore to significantly reduce the cost of producing such edging corners and also to design them in such a way that a loss is not to be feared.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the pocket is a stamped part, formed from the end face plate, the sides of which converge at an angle and are bent back to form the back plate, and that bearing plates for receiving the securing flap are bent on the side edges of the opening.

The production of such edging corners as a stamped part is due to the manufacturing process much cheaper than the cast manufacturing process. Such stamped parts can be produced fully automatically in large numbers on automatic punching presses without manual reworking being necessary. The same applies, of course, to the securing flap which, according to the invention, has an L-shaped design and, on the bending edge, should have bearing pins projecting outwards on both sides, which can engage in bores in the bearing plates. This design of the safety flap allows for an equally cheap production as for the bag, but it is also achieved, on the other hand, through the L-shaped design of the safety flap, that when swiveling the safety flap the fabric of the shirt collar etc. is grasped and the Tip of the shirt collar is pushed deep into the pocket, so that a loss of these edging corners is almost impossible. If the safety flap is pivoted into the holding position, the L-shaped bent tab, which is provided with prongs or an elastomer bead, engages in the shirt fabric etc., which is generally slightly elastic. Characterized in that this flap is pivoted relative to the back plate over its vertical position, it already holds itself in this position due to the elasticity of the material, so that additional locking means per se are not necessary. According to the invention, however, it is proposed as a precaution that an inwardly facing knob is formed on at least one bearing plate, which can retract when the safety flap is pivoted, following the elasticity of the bearing plate, and thus locks the safety flap in the holding position. In addition, the L-shaped securing flap can also be bent at an acute angle, as a result of which the free end of the securing flap can rest on the shirt fabric etc. in the holding position, thus securing the fit of this edging corner again.

Since the edging corner according to the invention can now be produced very inexpensively, its area of application is no longer limited to shirt collars as before, but these fashionably appealing edging corners can also be used for other items of clothing, such as collars and cuffs for jackets and shirts, for jacket revers, for Ties etc. are made and used.

The figure schematically shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely:
  • Figure 1 is a rear view and
  • FIG. 2 shows a view according to II of FIG. 1.

According to the invention, the edging corner 1 is a stamped part, formed from a plate 2 forming the front side, from side strips 3 drawn up from it, of which tabs are bent to form a rear plate 4, from which in turn bearing plates 5, laterally delimiting an opening 6, are bent are. In openings 7 of these bearing plates with a bearing pin 8 on both sides there is an L-shaped bent safety tion flap 9 pivotally inserted. The L-shaped bent tab 12 of this safety flap 9 is provided with prongs 10 on its front edge.

When pivoting the safety flap 9 into the holding position (dash-dotted line in Fig. 2), the flap 9 comes into the area of an inward-facing knob 11 attached to the bearing plates, so that the safety flap 9 is securely locked in this holding position. When the safety flap 9 is pivoted, the L-shaped flap 12 of this safety flap 9 swings into the interior of the pocket 13, detects when swiveling in the fabric of the shirt collar inserted into this pocket 13 and pushes it again to the tip of the corner 1, so that the tip of the shirt collar is securely held in this pocket 13. At the same time, the safety flap 9 is placed on the shirt fabric, so that this is again secured.
