Description

The invention relates to a magazine for firearms with a plastic jacket having a rectangular cross section and a bottom connected to it, and a spring-loaded cartridge slide. The known magazines of this type have the disadvantage that there can be high friction between the cartridges and the magazine casing, since in most cases the coefficient of friction of the plastic used is high. It has already been proposed to convert the line contact into point contacts by beads in the magazine jacket, in order to thereby facilitate the sliding movement of the cartridges.

The invention aims to improve the advance of the cartridges in the magazine in a different way. According to the invention, the slide will guide the cartridges with their axes perpendicular to the front wall and the rear wall of the plastic jacket. This is provided with a metal insert anchored to it, which in the upper area has lateral guides that taper strongly towards the top, pushing the cartridge tips into the vicinity of the magazine level and thereby erecting the cartridges.

The position of the magazine bottom is important for achieving an advantageous direction of the spring force acting on the slide. In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the bottom is therefore arranged obliquely to the front wall and rear wall of the plastic jacket and essentially parallel to the uppermost cartridge and connected to the plastic jacket by means of tongue and groove. It has lateral recesses which cooperate with projections in the central area of the plastic jacket in the sense of a latching, contact surfaces being provided on the projections and / or recesses.

In Figures 1 to 4 of the drawing, the object of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in side, rear and front view and in plan view.

The cartridge magazine shown consists of a plastic jacket 401, a base 402 and a metal insert 403. As usual, the magazine is prismatic and the base 402 is set at an angle. It is pushed onto the lower end of the magazine by means of groove 404 and tongue 405 and held by a latching lock 406. A spring 407 is supported on it and urges a slide 408 upwards. The cartridges 410 are supported on its one-sided shoulder 409. They assume a position in the lower area of the magazine in which their axis is perpendicular to the front wall 411 and the rear wall 412. In the upper section of the magazine, the metal insert 403 forms lateral guides 413 in the area of the storeys, which taper sharply upwards and push the cartridge tips into the vicinity of the magazine center plane, so that the cartridges straighten up and finally assume a position essentially parallel to the magazine base 402 . The area 414 of the metal insert 403 assigned to the cartridge bottoms only converges towards the end of the magazine, so that the cartridge bottoms remain longer in their original staggering. This can be seen from a comparison of the dash-dotted zigzag line in FIGS. 2 and 3.

The training according to the invention has two major advantages. Due to the position of the cartridge bases, a rich contact between them and the magazine rear wall 412 is achieved, so that the friction is reduced and the resistance to movement is reduced. It is impossible to get caught on the rear wall. The second advantage is that the contact between the cartridges changes when they are erected in the upper section of the magazine. It changes from a line contact to a point contact, so that there is no mutual hindrance to the passage of the cartridges in the upper section of the magazine. The metal insert 403 has a plurality of openings 416 which widen from the outside inwards and result in the insert being firmly anchored in the plastic jacket 401 of the magazine.
