Description

The present invention relates to a device for lifting the lifting platform of an installation for landing or watering ships.

There are known installations for landing or launching ships comprising a lifting platform which can be moved vertically in a dry dock. The lifting platform is suspended from cables which are operated by lifting winches. When the ship is afloat, the lifting platform is submerged under the ship. The latter comes to rest on the platform when the latter is hoisted from the submerged low position to the high position. The vessel can thus be raised from the afloat position to the dry position at ground level and vice versa. It can then be moved horizontally to a garage position.

In the installation of this type described in French patent 1,241. 681, the hoisting winches are mounted on the two longitudinal sides of the hold in equal quantities. When it is desired, in an installation of this type, to move the ship, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the lifting platform, it is necessary to bury the winches on the side of the evacuation edge of the ship, below the ground level of the refit wedge. The hoisting winches are then very close to the water level and are sometimes even submerged. When using this arrangement, then the fixing and sealing problems have to be solved. Furthermore, access to the winches is relatively difficult, which complicates maintenance.

The present invention relates to a lifting device which avoids the installation of winches on one of the two longitudinal edges of the wedge so as to clear the ground which is limited by this edge. The vessels can then be moved between the lifting platform and the ground, passing over the ledge not comprising the winches. The hoisting winches are mounted on the other longitudinal edge of the hold, on the opposite side to that above which the ships pass when they are evacuated and brought.

The device according to the invention is suitable for lifting, in a hold, an elevating platform using cables hooked to fixed points and maneuvered by hoisting winches after winding on pulleys mounted on the platform and on pulleys mounted fixed on the wedge, and it is essentially characterized by the fact that the fixed hooking points are arranged on one side of the refit wedge and that the hoisting winches are arranged on the other side of the wedge, each cable being wound up 'at least one pulley mounted on one side of the platform and under a pulley mounted on the other side in a horizontal strand and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the platform.

According to a characteristic of the invention, at least one of the cables, forms a single strand between its point of attachment and a pulley of the platform and is wound, on the side of the winches, on at least one pulley d '' a lower block fixed to the platform and on at least one pulley of an upper block fixed to the upper part of the wedge and on the other hand at least one other cable is wound from the side of the hooking point on at least a pulley of a lower block fixed to the platform and on at least one pulley of an upper block fixed to the upper part of the block and forms, on the side of the winches, a single vertical strand between a block of the platform and the winding winch.

The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to an embodiment given by way of example and represented by the accompanying drawings.
  • FIG. 1 represents a vertical section of an installation for earthing ships equipped with the lifting device according to the invention.
  • FIG. 2 schematically represents the hauling of the lifting device according to the invention.

The installation represented by FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises an elevating platform 2 which extends horizontally so as to be able to support a ship. This platform is moved vertically between the sides 12 and 13 of the dry dock 1 which is hollow relative to the ground 11 on which the ships can be moved dry. The vertical movement of the platform is carried out by the lifting device according to the invention between a low position where the platform is immersed and a high position where the top of the platform is flush with the ground. The lifting platform is suspended from cables 4 which are maneuvered by hoisting winches 3. These winches are anchored to the ground 11 surrounding the dry dock. The platform 2 is equipped on each of its two longitudinal sides with pulleys and blocks 5 and 6. The pulleys 5 and 6 rotate respectively around the axes 51 and 61 which are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the platform.

These attachment points are located at a level higher than the high position of the platform, near the ground level 11. They are located near the longitudinal edge 14 of the refit block, the hoisting winches being arranged near the other longitudinal edge 15 of the block. The cables are wound on upper pulleys 7 arranged on the side of the fixed attachment points. These pulleys 7 rotate around a fixed axis 71 parallel to the longitudinal axis of the platform. The cables are also wound on pulleys 8 arranged on the side of the hoisting winches. These pulleys rotate around a fixed axis 81 parallel to the longitudinal axis of the platform. The axes of pulleys 7 and 8 are located substantially above the p OSi high tion near the flanges respectively 14 and platform 15. The upper pulleys 7 disposed on the opposite side to the winches are disposed substantially at or below from the ground 11 so as to allow the movement of the ship perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the platform. The upper pulleys 8 can be located at a higher level than the ground level 11.

Preferably the axis 51 of the pulleys 5 of the platform and the axis 71 of the fixed upper pulleys are located in a substantially vertical plane. Similarly, the axis 61 of the platform pulleys6 and the axis 81 of the fixed upper pulleys are located in a substantially vertical plane. The winches 3 are then located outside with respect to this latter vertical plane.

The winches 3 are installed in pairs on the floor of the hold near the edge 15 opposite to the direction of evacuation of the ships indicated by an arrow 9 in FIG. 1. Each pair of winches is associated with the same main cross member of the platform. Each pair of winches can consist either of two identical winches or of a device towing two cables. Hoisting winches are of the wire rope type and can be electrically, hydraulically or pneumatically operated. The cable can be driven by the winch by drum or by any other traction system.

Le bout de câble situé en aval du mouflage est tracté par un treuil 3.The cables 4 are stretched between the pulleys 5 and 6 by forming horizontal breaks 43 substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the platform. Each horizontal strand is preceded upstream by a pulley 5 or 6, with a single substantially vertical strand. This strand is suspended from a winch or a hooking point and is followed on the other hand, downstream from the opposite pulley 5 or 6, by a block. The cable is wound downstream of the horizontal strand, alter natively on the pulleys of a fixed upper block and on the pulleys of a lower block fitted to the platform. The end of the muffle side cable is suspended from a winch or a hooking point. Starting from a hooking point, the horizontal cable strand is preceded either by a single strand or by hauling. This provision is an alternative. The cable 4 starting from the fixed attachment point 41 descends, by a substantially vertical strand, to the lower pulley 5 of the platform. After being wound on the pulley 5, on the attachment point side, it is wound once on a pulley 6 of the platform block. Between the pulley 5 and the pulley 6 it forms a horizontal strand 43. From the lower pulley 6 of the block, the cable rises, by a substantially vertical strand to a pulley 8 of the fixed block located on the side of the winches. The cable forms a number of loops between the pulleys of the lower platform block and the pulleys of the fixed upper block. The end of the cable located downstream from the haulage is towed by a winch 3.

A partir du brin horizontal le câble s'enroule sur la poulie 6 avant d'être tracté directement par un treuil 3.The cable 4 starting from the fixed point 42 descends, by a substantially vertical strand, to a pulley 5 of the movable block of the platform. It is wound up by forming a number of loops, on the pulleys of the movable lower block and on the pulleys 7 of the fixed upper block. From the pulley 5 of the movable block of the platform, the cable is wound on a pulley 6, forming a strand 43 horizontal and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the platform. From the horizontal strand the cable is wound on the pulley 6 before being pulled directly by a winch 3.

Le mouflage formé du côté des points d'accrochage - par des poulies 5 et les poulies 7 est identique au mouflage formé - côté treuils - par des poulies 6 et 1es poulies 8.The hauling formed on the side of the attachment points - by pulleys 5 and the pulleys 7 is identical to the hauling formed - on the winch side - by pulleys 6 and the pulleys 8.

It is understood that you can; without departing from the scope of the invention, imagine variants and refinements of details and envisage the use of equivalent means.

Cables and pulleys could be replaced with chains and sprockets.
