Description

The invention relates to a method and a device for transferring a sheet of material from an upstream assembly to a downstream receiver assembly, in particular when the supply of the sheet by the upstream assembly and its reception by the downstream receiver assembly takes place at different speeds.

It finds, more particularly but not exclusively, application in the transfer of sheets of paper or blanks of cardboard from one printing or cutting machine to another whereas in these machines, the linear speeds can vary in great proportions and that compared to the two machines, it is also necessary to respect the register of the sheet.

For machines with such speed differences, it is known to use either an additional feeder, or a balance throwing the sheet towards the downstream receiver assembly, or also pushing cleats mounted on chains.

The document FR-A-2 418 168 detects a product and a device for its implementation, of the type stated in the preamble of claims 1 and 2. In this document, it is provided between the upstream assembly and the downstream receiver assembly, two successive conveyors, one of the two aforementioned conveyors moving at a substantially constant speed equal to the speed of one of the assemblies, while the other conveyor is intended to be accelerated to pass the sheets which it receives from the speed of the aforementioned assembly at the speed of the other assembly, speed which is greater than that of the first assembly, then to be decelerated from the speed of this other assembly to the speed of the first so as to receive a new sheet at to transfer. The acceleration and then the deceleration are communicated to the conveyor which in the kinematic chain is upstream, which in addition is pivotally mounted for picking up the sheets one by one before disappearing, such a method and device has the drawback of be complex and expensive.

A result which the invention aims to obtain is a method and a transfer device which are simple guarantee the register with respect to the two sets. To this end, it relates to a transfer process of the type mentioned above, characterized in that:
  • - the upstream conveyor is made to move at substantially constant speed
  • - the sheets to be transferred are communicated with an adhesion which, on an equal contact surface, is higher on the downstream conveyor than on the upstream conveyor,
  • - the downstream conveyor is accelerated from the speed of the upstream conveyor to the speed of the downstream receiver assembly, when each of the sheets to be transferred arrives on the downstream conveyor and covers it with a sufficient part of its length for the forces d adhesion of this part of the sheet on the downstream conveyor is already greater than that still has the rest of the sheet on the upstream conveyor.

It also relates to the device for implementing this process.
characterized in that the downstream conveyor is connected, on the one hand, to the upstream conveyor by a freewheel clutch which, like a bicycle wheel, ensures the drive of the downstream conveyor at a speed always at least equal to that of the upstream transporter without prohibiting its movement at a higher speed and, on the other hand, by means periodically driven by the same movement by another freewheel which, as soon as this means has reached a speed greater than that of upstream carrier, takes over from the downstream carrier's drive.

Together and in particular a printing or cutting machine, CHARACTERIZED in that it is provided with at least one device as above defined as defined above.

It will be clearly understood with the aid of the description below. by way of nonlimiting example with regard to the attached drawing. which schematically represents the device seen in profile.

Referring to the drawing, it can be seen that the device 1 ensures the transfer of sheets 2 coming from an upstream assembly such as a machine 3, at the outlet of which a belt or roller conveyor 4, 5 has communicated to it a certain linear speed V 1 , and going to a downstream receiver assembly 6, in the entrance of which a conveyor belt 7 or roller 9, 10 will communicate to it another linear speed V 2 resulting for example from a difference between the diameters D 1 ' D 2 of those of the respective rollers 4, 9 which nevertheless should make a full turn to process the same sheet. In order to ensure the transfer:
  • - at least two successive carriers 11, 12 are coupled, including an upstream carrier 11 and a downstream carrier 12, which are chosen so that, with even contact surfaces, the sheet has a higher coefficient of adhesion on the carrier downstream 12 than on the upstream conveyor 11, and,
  • - first of all, we adapt the speed of these conveyors to that of the sheet when arriving on the upstream conveyor, then,
  • - when the sheet is released from the upstream assembly having supplied it to the upstream conveyor and covers the downstream conveyor by a sufficient part of its length so that the adhesion forces of this part of the sheet on the downstream conveyor are already greater to those which the rest of the sheet still has on the upstream conveyor, the speed of the downstream conveyor is modified until reaching the speed V 2 at which the downstream conveyor must deliver the sheet and,
  • - finally, as soon as the sheet has left the downstream transporter, the speed of the downstream transporter is reduced to that of the upstream transporter to enable it to receive a new sheet.

It is understood that, therefore, the transfer method according to the invention has the advantage, during transfer of the sheet, of adjusting its speed so that it leaves the device with the speed V 2 required by the assembly. downstream receiver while guaranteeing the register with respect to the two assemblies 3, 6.

The device for implementing this method firstly comprises at least two successive conveyors 11, 12, including an upstream conveyor 11 and a downstream conveyor 12.

These belts are passed, in known manner, on drive pulleys 17, 18 and return 19, 20 ensuring their guidance and their drive.

Preferably, the tables 15, 16 consist of the active wall of suction boxes 21, 22 making it possible to apply the sheet 2 against the belts so as to increase their respective adhesion forces.

Les deux transporteurs sont pourvus de moyens qui, à surfaces de contact égales, donnent au transporteur aval 12 une force d'adhérence sur la feuille supérieure à celle donnée au transporteur amont 11The two conveyors are provided with means which, with equal contact surfaces, give the downstream conveyor 12 an adhesive force on the sheet greater than that given to the upstream conveyor 11

These means may consist of a greater depression in the box 22 of the downstream conveyor 12 than in the box 21 of the upstream conveyor 11 and / or in belts differing in such a way that those of the downstream conveyor 12 offer a greater coefficient of friction than those of the upstream conveyor 11, for example following differences in materials and / or surface states and at least one of which may be notched.

The drive pulleys 17, 18 are obviously connected by any known means to their drive means 23, 24.

The device further comprises a detector 25 of the support of a sufficient part of the sheet 2 on the downstream conveyor 12 so that the adhesion of this part on the latter is already greater than the adhesion than the rest of the sheet. still has on the upstream conveyor 11.

Ce détecteur pilote un régulateur 26 de la vitesse du moyen moteur 24 du transporteur aval 12.This detector controls a regulator 26 of the speed of the motor means 24 of the downstream conveyor 12.

Due to the stronger adhesion of the downstream conveyor, it is ensured that, during the modification of the speed, the sheet will follow the speed of the downstream conveyor and will then slide on the upstream conveyor.

The sheet therefore follows a very precise law of motion and this is of course what makes it possible to respect the register between sets 3 and 6.

For the adaptation of the speed of the downstream conveyor sometimes to that of the upstream conveyor 11, sometimes to that at which this downstream conveyor must supply the sheet, in one embodiment, the device comprises clutches 27, 28 by which, under the control of the regulator 26, the motor moven 24 is connected, sometimes to the motor means 23 controlling the upstream conveyor, sometimes to the motor means 29 of the downstream receiver assembly 6.

When the downstream receiver assembly 6 comprises a means 31 periodically driven by the same movement such as a plate 31 carrying a counterform 32 and driven by a reciprocating movement under a cylinder 9, in a preferred embodiment, the downstream conveyor 12 is connected, on the one hand, to the upstream conveyor 11 by a freewheeling clutch which, like a bicycle wheel, ensures the drive of the downstream conveyor 12 at a speed always at least equal to that of the upstream conveyor without however prohibit its movement at a higher speed and, on the other hand, to the marble by another freewheel which, as soon as the marble has reached a speed higher than that of the upstream conveyor, takes over from the drive of the downstream conveyor .
