Definitions

  • the invention relates to a table with a table top that is adjustable in height and / or inclination relative to the table base and a torsion bar spring attached to the table base, to which two radial arms are attached, which are supported on the underside of the table top in order to compensate for its weight.
  • Such a table is known from DE-A-2 010 592.
  • An embodiment of the known table is a drawing table with a tabletop designed as a drawing board, which is pivotally mounted at one edge on the table frame, so that it can be brought into different inclined positions.
  • the table top can be locked in the inclined positions by clamping the radial arms of the torsion bar in the area of their storage.
  • the table top is fastened to the ends of vertical supports which are guided so as to be telescopically displaceable in the feet of the table frame.
  • the table top is locked at the desired height by clamping the radial arms attached to the torsion bar in the area of their swivel bearings.
  • the known table has the disadvantage that it allows only the pivoting or only the raising and lowering of the table top. Furthermore, the locking of the table top by clamping the swivel arms requires an extremely stable design and in particular also connection of these arms, which should not only more or less compensate for the weight of the table top. but also determine the position of the table top in the selected position. In the known table, the arms are therefore attached to the ends of a stable tube which surrounds the torsion bar spring formed by a leaf spring assembly and is mounted at its ends in the table frame. The known table is therefore very complex and still has only a limited use value.
  • a height-adjustable table is also known, in which a table top is arranged between two cheeks, which protrude above the table top.
  • the table top is suspended from belts in the area of the center of its edges adjacent to the cheeks. which in turn are adjustably attached to the cheeks.
  • the table top In the area of its front edge, the table top has lateral pins which penetrate the cheeks and onto which clamping screws are screwed from the outside.
  • a suspension. which facilitates the adjustment of the table top is not available on this table. Furthermore, it is readily apparent that the suspension of the table top on belts gives the table only limited stability.
  • Coil springs have an unfavorable spring characteristic because the spring force is proportional to the compression of the spring, so that relatively long springs must be used in order to avoid excessive changes in the pressure force when the plate is adjusted in height. Similar problems also exist with gas springs, since the changes in the pressure force are proportional to the enclosed gas volume. In addition, gas springs are relatively expensive, so that there are certain limits to their use. Such feathers also have in common that they take up a considerable amount of space in the leg parts of the table frames.
  • the invention has for its object to design a table of the type described above so that it offers a variety of adjustment options for the table top, has a simple structure and still has a high stability.
  • the tabletop is connected at its edge to the table frame by detachable catches and / or clamps, that the detachable catches and / or clamps on one edge of the tabletop are at least one parallel to the plate plane and perpendicular to this edge extending pin and on another edge adjacent to this edge have further pins extending perpendicular to the latter edge, each of which engage in a vertical slot of an adjacent hollow profile of the table frame and cooperate with devices for locking the table top in the selected position.
  • a guide of the table top is used which, despite the simplest construction, leads to very high stability.
  • the pegs attached to the table top which engage in vertical slots in the table frame, enable perfect vertical guidance of the table top and furthermore a simple and secure locking of the table top.
  • this makes it possible to use very simple latching or clamping means, which also take up little space, on the edges of the table top, which can be actuated individually one after the other, since the table top does not need to be moved parallel when lifting or lowering. This fulfills all of the above requirements at the same time.
  • a particularly good distribution of forces is achieved if at the ends of the torsion bar spring two mutually parallel arms which are attached to the same component of the table are attached and the torsion bar spring has an arm which is in contact with the other component in the region of its center. In this way, the spring on one component and the arms that transmit the forces have a large support base on the other component, thereby preventing the occurrence of unfavorable tilting moments.
  • the torsion bar spring is fastened to a part of the table frame which is parallel to an edge of the table top and has at least one arm which extends up to approximately the center line of the table top which is parallel to said edge.
  • the rotary rod spring can be arranged parallel to the long side of the table top and rest against the table top with arms attached to its ends.
  • the table frame has two side cheeks and a spar, which is preferably designed as a cable duct and connects the side cheeks, because the torsion bar spring can then simply be attached to the lower part of this spar.
  • the at least one arm which is supported on the component of the table to which the torsion bar spring is fastened, that is to say for example on a spar connecting the side frame of the table frame, can be provided with an adjusting screw which rests on this component and enables the spring tension to be adjusted .
  • the torsion bar spring is mounted in a support tube and carries one arm at each of its ends protruding from the support tube.
  • the arms attached to the ends of the torsion bar spring can run parallel to one another and the support tube can have a slot in the region of its center from which a further arm attached to the torsion bar spring protrudes.
  • the support tube can be attached to the underside of a mounting plate, so that the spring arrangement forms a structural unit which is manufactured independently of the rest of the table and can be attached to the table if necessary, in particular attached to a spar of the table frame.
  • the arm protruding from the slot of the support tube can then be provided with the set screw and the set screw supported on the underside of the mounting plate, so that it is ensured that the set screw always has a sufficiently strong abutment.
  • the torsion bar spring has a triangular or polygonal, preferably square, cross section.
  • Profile bars made of a suitable steel for the manufacture of the torsion bar spring are readily available commercially. They offer the advantage that no special measures need to be taken to fix the arms on the torsion bar in a rotationally fixed manner. Rather, it is sufficient to make corresponding recesses in the arms with a cross-section corresponding to the torsion bar spring and to fasten them, for example, by means of clamps on the torsion bar spring in order to produce a rotationally fixed connection as a result of the prismatic profile.
  • the torsion bar spring is formed by a stack of leaf springs lying on top of one another, which preferably together form a square profile.
  • a torsion bar spring composed of leaf springs has an even more favorable spring characteristic than a solid torsion bar, that is to say an even less change in the spring force when the arms transmitting the forces are pivoted relative to one another. It is sufficient to hold the leaf springs together by means of the openings in the arms which are adapted to the cross section of the leaf spring assembly.
  • a particularly simple embodiment of the invention results if the arms are formed directly by angled sections of the torsion bar spring. There is then no need to attach arms made of a rigid material to the ends of the torsion bar spring. If such a torsion bar spring has an arm attached in the region of its center, it can be formed by a U-shaped section of the torsion bar spring. Such a spring can also be attached to the underside of a mounting plate, however, split bearing blocks will be used for this, since the torsion bar spring with its angled ends cannot be inserted into carrier tubes, unless the carrier tubes are inserted onto the torsion bar spring before the ends are bent on.
  • sliding shoes instead of rollers is particularly suitable, which then simply on the Ends of the sections of the torsion bar angled as arms can be plugged on.
  • sliding rollers can also be attached to sections of the torsion bar spring that are angled again.

  • the spring engages the flanks of the teeth on the pin and at the same time presses the pin on the opposite flank of the vertical slot. In this way, a completely play-free locking of the table top is achieved.
  • This arrangement is particularly advantageous if the table frame has a cable duct adjoining the rear edge of the table top, because the slide can then be arranged inside this cable duct, in which there is sufficient space for accommodating the slide and in which the Slider is easily accessible after removing the cover of the cable duct, without external actuators having to be provided for moving the slider.

Abstract

In a table comprising a table-top that can be adjusted in height and/or inclination relative to the trestle, and a spring arrangement provided between the trestle and the table-top and serving to counterbalance the weight of the table, the table-top (6) is connected to the trestle at its rear edge by disengageable stops and at its front edge by clamps. The spring arrangement comprises a torsion bar spring (11) mounted preferably on the trestle (1) and provided with at least two radial arms (15, 21) bearing against the trestle (1) and the lower face of the table-top (6), respectively. Such a spring arrangement is of particularly simple design and requires only little space. Further, the torsion bar spring offers a favorable spring characteristic. A particularly soft spring effect can be achieved by the use of a stack of leaf springs (31) as torsion bar spring. The stop arrangement comprises pins (61) projecting from the rear edge of the table-top into a cable duct (2) where they are held by a toothed slide (64). The clamps are formed by clamping pieces (90) which can be displaced in opposite directions by rotating a threaded spindle (82) seated at the front edge of the table-top, coacting with fixed abutments (88,89), the said clamping pieces (90) and abutments (88,89) bearing against opposite faces of the wall (86) of a hollow section (5) of the trestle (1).

Description

The invention relates to a table with a table top that is adjustable in height and / or inclination relative to the table base and a torsion bar spring attached to the table base, to which two radial arms are attached, which are supported on the underside of the table top in order to compensate for its weight.

Such a table is known from DE-A-2 010 592. An embodiment of the known table is a drawing table with a tabletop designed as a drawing board, which is pivotally mounted at one edge on the table frame, so that it can be brought into different inclined positions. The table top can be locked in the inclined positions by clamping the radial arms of the torsion bar in the area of their storage. In another embodiment of the known table, the table top is fastened to the ends of vertical supports which are guided so as to be telescopically displaceable in the feet of the table frame. Here, too, the table top is locked at the desired height by clamping the radial arms attached to the torsion bar in the area of their swivel bearings.

The known table has the disadvantage that it allows only the pivoting or only the raising and lowering of the table top.

From DE-U-76 30 881 a height-adjustable table is also known, in which a table top is arranged between two cheeks, which protrude above the table top. The table top is suspended from belts in the area of the center of its edges adjacent to the cheeks. which in turn are adjustably attached to the cheeks. In the area of its front edge, the table top has lateral pins which penetrate the cheeks and onto which clamping screws are screwed from the outside. A suspension. which facilitates the adjustment of the table top is not available on this table. Furthermore, it is readily apparent that the suspension of the table top on belts gives the table only limited stability.

In contrast, there is a need for tables which have a table top which can be adjusted for adjustment to the working height and / or the optimum inclination and nevertheless have a very high stability. so that they are suitable as tables for data processing devices. In such tables, spindle drives in particular have been used to adjust the table top. However, such drives are again very expensive and are therefore out of the question for simple designs of such tables. Here, simple catches are then provided on leg parts which can be moved relative to one another in order to hold the table top at different heights and / or inclinations, and the table top must be adjusted by hand. To the extent that suspensions have previously been used in such tables, they were helical or gas springs arranged in the leg parts of the table frame. Coil springs have an unfavorable spring characteristic because the spring force is proportional to the compression of the spring, so that relatively long springs must be used in order to avoid excessive changes in the pressure force when the plate is adjusted in height.

In contrast, the invention has for its object to design a table of the type described above so that it offers a variety of adjustment options for the table top, has a simple structure and still has a high stability.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the tabletop is connected at its edge to the table frame by detachable catches and / or clamps, that the detachable catches and / or clamps on one edge of the tabletop are at least one parallel to the plate plane and perpendicular to this edge extending pin and on another edge adjacent to this edge have further pins extending perpendicular to the latter edge, each of which engage in a vertical slot of an adjacent hollow profile of the table frame and cooperate with devices for locking the table top in the selected position.

In the table according to the invention, in conjunction with a torsion bar spring which has a very favorable characteristic, a guide of the table top is used which, despite the simplest construction, leads to very high stability. because the pegs attached to the table top, which engage in vertical slots in the table frame, enable perfect vertical guidance of the table top and furthermore a simple and secure locking of the table top. In particular this makes it possible to use very simple latching or clamping means, which also take up little space, on the edges of the table top, which can be actuated individually one after the other, since the table top does not need to be moved parallel when lifting or lowering. This fulfills all of the above requirements at the same time.

A particularly good distribution of forces is achieved if at the ends of the torsion bar spring two mutually parallel arms which are attached to the same component of the table are attached and the torsion bar spring has an arm which is in contact with the other component in the region of its center. In this way, the spring on one component and the arms that transmit the forces have a large support base on the other component, thereby preventing the occurrence of unfavorable tilting moments.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the torsion bar spring is fastened to a part of the table frame which is parallel to an edge of the table top and has at least one arm which extends up to approximately the center line of the table top which is parallel to said edge. Such an arrangement is particularly space-saving and at the same time particularly simple to carry out. In particular, the rotary rod spring can be arranged parallel to the long side of the table top and rest against the table top with arms attached to its ends. Such an arrangement is particularly expedient if the table frame has two side cheeks and a spar, which is preferably designed as a cable duct and connects the side cheeks, because the torsion bar spring can then simply be attached to the lower part of this spar.

Since the end of the arm, which rests on the component of the table that is movable relative to the torsion bar spring, in particular on the underside of the table top, also performs a movement transversely to the named component when the table top is adjusted because its end describes an arc it is advantageous to provide this arm with a sliding roller at its end in order to prevent a disturbing friction between the end of the arm and the said component.

Furthermore, the at least one arm, which is supported on the component of the table to which the torsion bar spring is fastened, that is to say for example on a spar connecting the side frame of the table frame, can be provided with an adjusting screw which rests on this component and enables the spring tension to be adjusted .

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the torsion bar spring is mounted in a support tube and carries one arm at each of its ends protruding from the support tube. In particular, the arms attached to the ends of the torsion bar spring can run parallel to one another and the support tube can have a slot in the region of its center from which a further arm attached to the torsion bar spring protrudes. The support tube can be attached to the underside of a mounting plate, so that the spring arrangement forms a structural unit which is manufactured independently of the rest of the table and can be attached to the table if necessary, in particular attached to a spar of the table frame. The arm protruding from the slot of the support tube can then be provided with the set screw and the set screw supported on the underside of the mounting plate, so that it is ensured that the set screw always has a sufficiently strong abutment.

It is particularly expedient if the torsion bar spring has a triangular or polygonal, preferably square, cross section. Profile bars made of a suitable steel for the manufacture of the torsion bar spring are readily available commercially. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the torsion bar spring is formed by a stack of leaf springs lying on top of one another, which preferably together form a square profile. Such a torsion bar spring composed of leaf springs has an even more favorable spring characteristic than a solid torsion bar, that is to say an even less change in the spring force when the arms transmitting the forces are pivoted relative to one another. It is sufficient to hold the leaf springs together by means of the openings in the arms which are adapted to the cross section of the leaf spring assembly.

A particularly simple embodiment of the invention results if the arms are formed directly by angled sections of the torsion bar spring. In such an embodiment of the invention, the use of sliding shoes instead of rollers is particularly suitable, which then simply on the Ends of the sections of the torsion bar angled as arms can be plugged on. However, sliding rollers can also be attached to sections of the torsion bar spring that are angled again.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a horizontally adjustable slide is guided in the hollow profile, in which the pin extending parallel to the plate plane engages, which has a toothed edge defining locking positions and in its edge position engages around the pin with a pair of teeth. In this embodiment of the invention, however, a catch is provided on this edge of the table top, in which the pin on the edge of the table top is held in a positive manner in the horizontal direction through the vertical slot and in the vertical direction by the pair of teeth encompassing it on the edge of the slider and is thus perfectly fixed. The particular advantage of this arrangement is that no external elements for holding the table top are disruptive and the slide arranged within the hollow profile of the table frame can have the shape of a flat plate, which does not take up any significant space. At the same time, this arrangement is very simple in its design and can therefore be produced at low cost.

In this embodiment of the invention, the teeth can have a triangular profile, and the slide can be resiliently biased towards its rest position. In this way, a completely play-free arrangement is achieved because the spring engages the flanks of the teeth on the pin and at the same time presses the pin on the opposite flank of the vertical slot. In this way, a completely play-free locking of the table top is achieved.

This arrangement is particularly advantageous if the table frame has a cable duct adjoining the rear edge of the table top, because the slide can then be arranged inside this cable duct, in which there is sufficient space for accommodating the slide and in which the Slider is easily accessible after removing the cover of the cable duct, without external actuators having to be provided for moving the slider.

As already mentioned at the beginning, the table top can also be connected to the table frame by clamping. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the pegs, which extend parallel to an edge of the table top, are formed by the ends of a rotatably arranged spindle which has opposite threads at its ends, which interact with corresponding threads in non-rotatably guided clamping pieces, for the clamping mounting of the table top can be moved by rotating the threaded spindle in the direction of an abutment which is immovable relative to the spindle. In this arrangement, the abutment is on one side and the clamping piece on the other side of the slot having the wall of the associated hollow profile, so that this wall between the abutment and the clamping piece can be firmly clamped to the table top in the desired position receive. This arrangement also has no significant space requirement, since the SpindeLinjJie__ table top can be embedded and, moreover, the hollow profiles of the table frame offer sufficient space for accommodating the components of the clamping device arranged therein.

In a particularly simple manner, the threaded spindle can be arranged in a rectangular tube attached to the edge of the table top and held therein by the clamping pieces which are formed by blocks guided in the rectangular tube. The abutments can be attached in a simple manner to the ends of the threaded spindle projecting into the hollow profiles of the table frame. In this embodiment of the invention, neither special bearings for the threaded spindle nor special measures for attaching the abutments are required. The abutments can be formed, for example, by simple lock nuts at the ends of the threaded spindle, or also by nuts fixed in another way, for example by pinning or welding. In this case, a disc can be arranged between the nuts and the adjacent wall of the hollow profile, the size of which corresponds approximately to the cross section of the clamping pieces, and this disc can also be provided with teeth on the side facing the wall of the hollow profile in order to fix the table top to ensure compared to the table frame even with large loads.

The threaded spindle must be provided with some device that allows it to be turned. Such devices can consist of flattened areas or a transverse bore, which enables the insertion of a key or the insertion of a rod as a lever for rotating the threaded spindle. However, the threaded spindle can also be provided with a permanently attached, radially projecting handle. However, the attachment of such a handle would require a relatively great precision in the manufacture of the clamping arrangement, so that it is ensured that a perfect jamming and loosening is guaranteed on the available swiveling path that hardly exceeds a range of 180 °. Nevertheless, it can happen that the lever protrudes from the underside of the table top into the footwell of the table and disturbs there. A preferred embodiment of the invention therefore provides that such a handle is connected to the threaded spindle via a ratchet which can be changed in its direction of action. It is about ratchets are devices consisting of toothed segments and locking members, which are often used in tools for transmitting a rotational movement in one direction.

The risch shown in Fig. 1 to 3 has a table frame which consists of two side parts 1 and a spar connecting the side parts 2, which is designed as a cable duct in the illustrated embodiment. The side parts 1, of which only one is visible in FIG. 1, are essentially C-shaped and consist of a foot 3, a leg part 4 attached to the rear end of the foot and an upper frame part 5 extending parallel to the foot. The spar 2 and the frame parts 5 form a square open to the front of the table, in which a table top 6 is arranged. The mixer plate 6 is fastened to the spar 2 and to the frame parts 5 by means of latching and clamping members and can be raised from the lower position shown in FIG. 1 to the upper layer 7 indicated by dash-dotted lines and also, as indicated by dashed lines, into an oblique position 8 to be brought. Several intermediate positions are possible.

For attachment to the spar 2, the mixer plate 6 is provided on its rear edge with two spaced-apart pins 61 which extend parallel to the plane of the table top and engage in vertical slots 62 which are arranged in the front wall 63 of the spar 2 designed as a cable duct are. On the inside of the front wall 63 there is a slide 64 which comprises two plates 65 arranged essentially next to the slots 62, the edge of which faces the slots 62 forming teeth 66 with an essentially triangular profile. In the position shown in FIG. 2, two of these teeth 66 each grasp the associated pin 61 and thereby determine its position in the longitudinal direction of the slot 62. The two plates 65 are connected to one another by a rail 67 and are brought into the locking position shown by a helical tension spring 68 drawn. The tension spring 68 engages with one end on a bolt 69 attached to the notes 67 and with the other end on a bolt 70 attached on the wall 63 of the cable duct. A handle 71 fastened in the area of the middle of the notes 67, for example by welding, enables the slide to be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the cable duct 2. The handle 71 is accessible after the cover 72 of the cable duct has been removed.

The slider 64 is displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the cable duct 2 against the force of the tension spring 68 in the position indicated by dash-dotted lines, in which the teeth 66 no longer cover the slot 62, so that the pin 61 is freely moved in the longitudinal direction of the slots 62 for height adjustment of the table top can be. After the slide is released, the pins 61 again come to lie between two teeth 66 and are positively held by these teeth in the selected latching position. The wedge-shaped flanks of the teeth 66 bear against the force of the spring at two opposite points of the pin 61 and at the same time press the pin against the opposite flank of the slot 62, thereby ensuring that the pin 61 is held without play.

The slider 64 is held in the cable duct 2 by guide members 73 which overlap the upper and lower edges of the plates 65.

As can be seen in particular from FIG. 3, the front plate 6 is provided at its front edge with a rectangular tube 81, in which a spindle 82 is arranged, which at its ends has threads 83 and 84 in opposite directions, which are preferably high pitch ratchet threads acts. The spindle 82 protrudes from both sides of the rectangular tube 81 and engages with its protruding sections in vertical slots 85, which for this purpose in the inner walls 86 of the frame parts 5 formed as hollow profiles are attached. The spindle 82 ends on both sides in pins 87 of reduced diameter, on each of which a washer 88 held by a nut 89 is placed. The washers 88 are each supported on the shoulder between the pin 87 and the adjacent section of the spindle 82 provided with threads 83 and 84, respectively. On these sections there are blocks 90, each serving as a clamping piece, the cross section of which is adapted to the cross section of the rectangular tube 81, so that they are non-rotatable in this tube with little play, but are displaceable in the longitudinal direction thereof. The blocks 90 have a thread 83 or 84 interacting Internal thread. At the same time, these blocks form a bearing for the spindle 82. It can be seen that the blocks 90 can be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the rectangular tube 81 by rotating the spindle 82. They can therefore be moved symmetrically in the direction of the disks 88 attached to the ends of the spindle 82, which abut against the inner sides of the walls 86 of the frame parts 5 as connected by the spindle 82 and thus in a fixed position, while the blocks 90 act as clamping pieces on the Outside of these walls are pressed. As a result, the walls are firmly clamped between the disks 88 and the blocks 90, so that displacement of the spindle 82 in the longitudinal direction of the slots 85 relative to the frame parts 5 is not possible and, as a result, the table top is held securely at its front edge relative to the frame parts 5 . In order to further increase the clamping effect of the arrangement, the disks 5 can be provided on their side facing the walls 86 with a serration or corrugation which can dig into the material of the walls.

By rotating the spindle 82 in the opposite direction, the blocks 90 can be removed from the abutments 88 to such an extent that the clamping is released. Then the spindle 82 is displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the slots 85 for height adjustment of the table top at its front edge. By tightening the clamping device, the front edge of the table top can be plagued at any height. It can be seen that this arrangement enables a continuous adjustment, in contrast to the locked adjustment of the table top at the rear edge.

Denkbar ist das Anbringen von Abflachungen, die das Ansetzen eines Schlüssels ermöglichen, oder das Anbringen einerIf a height adjustment of the table top is not often to be expected, it may be sufficient to form the spindle 82 at an accessible location in a manner that enables a tool to be attached. It is conceivable to provide flats that allow a key to be attached, or to attach one

Cross hole that allows the insertion of a lever-like handle. It is of course also possible to provide the spindle 82 with a radially protruding handle which allows the spindle 82 to be actuated at any time. In the exemplary embodiment shown, such a handle 91 is connected to the spindle 82 via a ratchet 92, which is only indicated schematically and whose direction of action can be changed. For this purpose, the handle 91 is angled through 90 ° and can be pivoted through its radial section 93 to the spindle 82 through 180 °. Ratchets which can be changed in their direction of action are known in many embodiments and are used in particular in the case of tools which are used to transmit a rotary movement at points which permit only a slight pivoting of the tool. The use of such a ratchet in the clamping device described has the particular advantage that it does not have to be taken into account during manufacture which position the hand lever assumes when full clamping is achieved, because the back and forth movement of the hand lever means that in any case Desired clamping can be achieved and then the hand lever can be brought into a position in which it is not a hindrance, in particular abuts the underside of the table top, as shown in the drawing.

The locking means described make it possible to adjust the height of the table top at the front and rear edges independently of one another, so that the table top can always be brought into the desired position by changing the height of the table top at one edge by the captured other edge is pivoted. The existing in the described embodiment pin arrangement on the rear edge of the table top allows pivoting without further ado, while the jamming at the front edge of the table top could be loosened somewhat in order to reduce the frictional forces that occur during pivoting. Such adjustment is particularly easy when there is a suspension that strives to always bring the table top to the top position, so that it is always sufficient to exert a certain pressure on the table top to achieve the desired position. For this purpose, a suspension is provided in the table according to the invention, which is able to absorb the weight of the table top.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 6, the suspension comprises a torsion bar spring 11 which is mounted in tube sections 12 which are located on the underside of a mounting plate 13, for example welded to it. The ends 14 of the torsion bar spring 11 protrude from the tube sections 12 and each carry an arm 15 which is provided with a sliding roller 16 at its end. The sliding rollers 16 are each mounted on an axle bolt 17 screwed into the end of the arm 15.

Im Bereich des Schlitzes zwischen den beiden Rohrabschnitten 12 befindet sich auf der Drehstabfeder 11 ein weiterer Arm 21, der sich von der am Rand der Montageplatte 13 angeordneten Drehstabfeder 11 parallel zurThe torsion bar spring 11 has a square cross section, and the arms 15 have corresponding square recesses at their ends connected to the torsion bar spring 11, each of which a slot 16 runs to the adjacent end of the arm 15. In the area of this slot, clamping screws 19 are arranged, which allow the arms 15 to be clamped onto the ends 14 of the torsion bar spring 11. The recesses in the arm 15 are arranged such that a diagonal extends in the longitudinal direction of the arm 15. In the area of the slot between the two tube sections 12 there is a further arm 21 on the torsion bar spring 11, which is parallel to the torsion bar spring 11 arranged on the edge of the mounting plate 13

Mounting plate 13 extends and ends near the opposite edge of the torsion bar spring 11 of this mounting plate. This arm 21 is provided at its free end with an adjusting screw 22 which is supported on the adjacent side of the mounting plate 13. For attachment to the torsion bar spring 11, the arm 21 is also provided with a square recess 23 (FIG. 6), but two side surfaces of this recess extend parallel to the longitudinal direction of the lever 21. The lever 21 is in its position by a on the torsion bar spring 11th pressing set screw 24 held.

Due to the different arrangement of the recesses in the levers 15 and 21, the arms 15 and 21 enclose an angle of 45 ° when the torsion bar spring 11 is relaxed. In the extended position shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, which also corresponds to the operating position shown in FIG. 1 with the table top 6 lowered, the torsion bar spring 1 is therefore under tension. This tension is such that the force exerted by the ends of the two arms 15, which abut with the sliding rollers 16 on the underside of the table top 6, as shown in FIG. 1, on the underside of the table top 6 is somewhat greater than the weight the table top. The adjusting screw 22 makes it possible to change the spring force by changing the position of the middle arm 21 with respect to the mounting plate 13 and thus also with respect to the operating positions of the outer arms 15 and to adapt it, for example, to table tops of different sizes or to table tops made of different materials, so that the same Spring arrangement for tables of different designs can be used.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, the spring arrangement described is attached to the mounting plate 13 on the underside of the spar 2. The arms 15 attached to the ends of the torsion bar spring 11 have such a length that they lie with the sliding rollers 16 approximately in the longitudinal center of the table top on the underside thereof. As a result, the table top is supported essentially along an axis running through the center of gravity, so that it can easily be transferred to the desired position. Fig. 1 also shows in dash-dotted or dashed lines the positions of the arms 15, which correspond to the positions 7 and 8 of the table top 2.

As already mentioned, it is important for good handling of the table top that the torsion bar spring is "as soft as possible", i.e. a constant force torsion bar spring already has a favorable characteristic in this regard, the characteristic of the torsion bar spring can be further improved by the fact that as a leaf guide example, the torsion bar spring 17, as can be seen in FIG. 4, consists of six superimposed leaf springs 31, which are caused solely by the openings in the attached arms 15 and 21 are held together to form a package.

In the embodiment of a suspension for a table according to the invention shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the torsion bar spring 41 is in turn attached to the underside of a mounting plate 43, which in turn is intended to be attached to the frame of a table, as in the previously described embodiment is the case.

The torsion bar spring 41 here consists of a bar with a circular cross section, which can have a diameter of 8 mm, for example. In this case, the torsion bar spring 41 is not supported in pipe sections but in bearing blocks 42 which are attached to the underside of the mounting plate 43, for example welded back on. However, the bearing blocks are divided in a plane parallel to the mounting plate 43, so that a type of bearing cover 141 is formed, which are connected by means of screws 242 to the sections of the bearing blocks 42 connected to the mounting plate 43 and allow the torsion bar spring 41 to be inserted into the open bearing blocks. The arms 45 attached to the ends of the torsion bar 41 are simply formed in this embodiment of the invention from angled ends of the spring bar, which in turn are angled again at their ends, so that parallel to the section of the torsion bar 41 mounted on the mounting plate 43 arises parallel stub 47 , on which rollers 46 are arranged.

In the area of its center, the torsion bar spring has a U-shaped section 51, which is located approximately in the same plane as the arms 45 when the spring is in operation, but extends in the opposite direction to these arms and with a slightly angled from this plane End 52 rests on the side of the mounting plate facing him. By changing the angle that the end 52 forms with the remaining part of the U-shaped angled section 51, the pretension of the spring can be influenced.

It can be seen that this spring arrangement is distinguished by a particularly simple construction and can also be used in the same way as the spring arrangement according to FIGS. 4 to 6.

In the case of spring arrangements for tables of conventional size, the mounting plate can have a base area of approximately 100 x 260 mm 2 . The spring arms can have a length of about 300 mm and there is also a value of about 300 mm for the arm spacing. While a diameter of 8 mm is generally sufficient when using solid round material to produce the torsion bar spring, a bar cross section with a side length of 12 mm has proven to be expedient for the use of a square leaf spring package. In general, however, these dimensions will have to be based on the properties of the material used for the torsion bar spring, the table size, the shape and attachment of the spring arrangement and the forces to be absorbed.

It is understood that the invention is not based on the exemplary embodiments shown is limited, but deviations therefrom are possible without leaving the scope of the invention. It would be readily possible to attach the torsion bar spring to the underside of the table top and to provide it with arms which are supported on upwardly facing surfaces of the table frame, for example on a support arranged below the table top. It would also be conceivable to angle the torsion bar spring only at its ends to form the arms, so that it has only two arms. If a symmetrical arrangement is desired, as in the exemplary embodiments, two such springs could, for example, be used in a position symmetrical to one another. Instead of rollers, the arms could also be fitted with sliding shoes at their ends. If angled ends of the torsion bar spring are used as arms, such arms could rest against an adjustable abutment instead of being provided with an adjusting screw. The table top can also be locked in a different way. In particular, it would be possible to provide similar locking means on two opposite edges of the table top. The arrangements to be chosen will depend to a considerable extent on the design of the table frame, the type of which the invention is independent of.
