Description

The invention relates to an additional device for training purposes on a tennis net, which is held between side posts on a rope stretched horizontally between them, with vertical additional posts arranged on the side posts of the tennis net, which protrude independently of one another in a height-adjustable manner above the posts and each carry at their free end an additional rope that is stretched over the horizontal rope in order to form at least one ball passage window that can be selected in size and position over the tennis net.

For the training of tennis students and also for top tennis players, it is often desirable to specify certain ball flight positions in which the ball is to fly over the tennis net. It is generally not sufficient for the trainer to only give a rough indication of the flight position over the network; a marker is also required.

From US-A-3 993 306 an additional device for training purposes on a tennis net of the type mentioned has become known. The additional rope forms a continuous opening above the tennis net and forms a ball passage opening, which can optionally be divided by vertical strips attached to the additional rope. In the case of balls played quickly in particular, it cannot be determined whether the ball has flown through one of the openings formed or over the additional side. An actual control of the training result is not possible in case of doubt.

The invention has for its object to provide an additional device for training purposes on a tennis net, through which precisely determined, also asymmetrical flight openings of the ball over the net can be specified. The aim is to prevent the ball from flying over the net if the flight opening is not hit.

To solve this problem, it is proposed according to the invention in an additional device of the type mentioned at the outset that at least two, preferably more, additional nets are independently slidably attached to the additional rope and that the additional rope on the additional posts is mutually independent both below the height of the rope or the posts is adjustable in inclined positions in order to form ball passage windows and / or ball passage areas of different shape and position between the additional nets and / or above the additional rope.

With this additional device, the trainer has the option of specifying certain ball passage openings above the net for the training tennis player, which openings can be quickly adjusted according to size and position. It is only necessary to move the additional nets on the additional part accordingly. The balls not reached by the trainer through the flight window are caught by the additional nets, so that a reliable control of the success is possible. The fact that one side of the additional rope can be lower than the height of the tennis net when the additional rope can be adjusted obliquely, an asymmetrical flyover area can be formed over the tennis net, in which, for example, the front side is partially covered by the additional nets, so that this area can only be flown with topspin hit balls, while the backhand area has the normal net height and can be passed with slize hit balls. Further explanations of the setting options and the formation of the fly-through windows and flyover areas can be found in the drawings and the description below.

The additional nets are expediently suspended from the additional rope next to one another by means of sliders or rings and together have a width which corresponds approximately to the width of the tennis net, and each have a height (length) which corresponds at least to the height of the tennis net. As a result, only a single side-lying ball passage window can be formed in which one of the additional nets remains practically completely pushed together on one side, while the other additional nets are drawn adjacent to one another to form a fully covered area. The length of the additional nets should be greater than the height of the usual tennis net by at least more than twice the amount of the usual tennis net.

In a further expedient embodiment of the invention, the additional nets have hooks on their lower edge which can be hooked onto the tennis net under tension of the additional net. Furthermore, the vertical edges of the additional nets expediently carry a border and at least at the lower end of the border there is a hook in each case in order to tension and fix the edges of the additional nets which delimit the flight window formed in each case and to mark the flight window well by the border. The border may be contrasted in color with the additional network.

In a further expedient embodiment of the invention, the additional rope is designed as a flat band. The rings carrying the additional nets do not slip on such a band, in particular when the additional rope is stretched in a strong inclined position. The additional rope can be an inextensible band, which is stretched between the additional posts with a tensioning device. The additional rope or band can also be elastic to use a double hook according to a further embodiment of the invention, which can be hooked on the one hand on the additional rope and on the other hand at a point on the tennis net or the rope, in order to close the additional rope in a flat V-shaped position hold. This allows an overflight area to be formed over the tennis net, which has the normal height of the tennis net in the middle, but is increased on the sides by the additional nets, so that lateral balls can only be brought over the net in topspin.

The additional nets are expediently more finely meshed and more transparent than the usual tennis nets, so that they represent only a slight visual impairment, but nevertheless mark the unapproved areas above the tennis net well for the training tennis player.

Further expedient refinements of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

The usual tennis net 1 is suspended and stretched on a rope 3 stretched between two side posts 2. Vertical additional posts 5 are fastened to the posts 2 by means of brackets 4, on which support rods 6 are guided so as to be adjustable in height. The support rods 6 surround the additional posts 5 in a bowl shape and carry rings 7 at their upper ends, to which an additional rope 8 is fastened and is stretched essentially parallel to the rope 3. The height of the support rods 6 can be adjusted and locked, for example by means of locking screws 9, on the additional posts 5. On the additional rope 8, fine-meshed additional nets 10 and 11 are suspended via rings 12, 13 and can be moved horizontally, so that a ball passage window 16 can be formed between vertical borders 14 and 15 of the nets 10, 11, depending on the position of the nets. Hooks 17, 18 are attached to the lower edges of the nets 10 and 11 in order to be able to tension the additional nets downward by hooking them onto the tennis net 1.

The support rods 6 surround the additional posts 5 only so far that the support rods 6 can be pushed past the tabs 4 completely down. The additional rope 8 can thus be placed on one or both sides of the tennis net 1 in a position which is below the height of the rope 3 d. H. the upper edge of the tennis net 1.

An improved and refined handling for the height adjustability of the additional rope 8 is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. Because of their relatively large length, the additional posts 25 designed as a square hollow profile consist of two parts 21 and 23 of approximately 1.5 m in length, which are connected to one another via an inserted core piece 22. This makes the additional posts easier to transport if the additional device according to the invention is to be used optionally on different tennis nets on different systems. The additional posts 25 are inserted from above into insertion eyelets 27 on clamps 24 in their position of use. The holding clamps 24 are attached one above the other to the posts 2 of the tennis net 1. On the additional post 25, a guide clamp 26, which surrounds the additional post 25 and is guided on the additional post 25 by means of rollers 28, is arranged such that it can be adjusted in height. The guide clamp 26 carries a fastening eyelet 29 for the additional rope or band 8. The height adjustment of the guide clamp 26 on the additional post 25 is carried out by a circulating rope 30 which is guided over an upper deflection roller 31 and a lower deflection roller 32. The upper deflection roller 31 is mounted on a flange 33 at the upper end of the additional post 25. The lower deflection roller 32 is mounted on a flange 34, which is arranged on the upper clamp 24. The circulating rope 30 has at its ends an end loop 35, 36, both of which are releasably placed on the guide clamp 26 via a retaining pin 37. The height of the guide clamp 26 and thus of the additional rope 8 can thus be set at any additional post 25 by appropriate position of the circulating rope 30. To fix the height adjustment, a cable clamping device 38 is provided on the flange 34, which can be rotated in the flange 34 by means of a handle 39 and clamps the cable 30 against the deflection roller 32 with a nose 40.

Should the upper clamp 24 be attached to the post 2 of the tennis net 1 so high that the guide clip 26 cannot be lowered deep enough on the additional post 25 to bring the additional rope 8 into a sufficiently deep position below the tennis net rope 3, there is Possibility to bring the guide clamp 26 between the holding clamps 24. For this purpose, the end loop 35 of the circulating rope 30 is lifted off the pin 37 on the guide clamp 26, the additional post 25 is pulled out of the insertion eyelets 27 upward, the guide clamp 26 is removed downward from the additional post 25, and this is again inserted from above into the insertion eyelet 27 of the upper one Retained clamp 24 inserted, the guide clamp 26 below the upper clamp 24 again on the additional post 25 and this is then inserted into the insertion eyelet 27 of the lower clamp 24 again. The guide clamp 26 is then located between the holding clamps 24 and can be adjusted in its desired height by the rope 30, the guide Rungsschelle 26 hangs on the end loop 36 of the rope 30.

Parts already explained in the preceding figures are not explained again and provided with the same reference numerals. The construction for the height adjustment of the additional rope 8 on the additional post 5 is not shown in detail. Only the guide clips 26 and the retaining clips 24 of the construction according to FIGS. 4 and 5 are indicated. 6, four additional nets 41, 42, 43, 44 are shown, for example, which are suspended from the additional cable 8 via rings which are not specifically designated, but which correspond to the rings 12 and 13 according to FIG. 1. The borders 14, 15 according to FIG. 1 are not particularly shown on these additional networks. The hooks 45 provided for tensioning the additional nets 41, 42, 43, 44 are only shown, for example, on the outer lower corners of the additional nets. The additional networks are not specifically designated in FIGS. They are pushed together to form a closed network surface made up of several additional networks, for example 10 and 11 or 41, 42, 43 and 44.

In the arrangement according to FIG. 6, three ball passage windows 46, 47, 48 are formed, which have different outline shapes. For a right-handed player standing in front of the tennis net 1 as shown, the ball passage window 48 on the forehand side is narrowly limited in height, so that he is forced to hit balls that are placed precisely in the direction and are flying flat over the edge of the net. On the backhand side, the ball passage window 46 is higher so that it can also be passed with topspin hit balls, but only those that have the direction of the opening of the window 46. On the forehand side, topspin balls can be hit over the additional rope 8, which has a lower position on this side.

In the arrangement according to FIG. 1, the hitting of topspin balls can be practiced over the entire width of the net, balls not being stopped sufficiently high over the net edge by the additional net.

In the arrangement according to FIG. 8, an asymmetrical ball crossing area 49 is created, which enables training on the backhand side of balls hit flat over the net edge, while on the forehand side the net can only be overcome by topspin hit balls.

In the arrangement according to FIG. 9, a further variation possibility for the creation of an essentially flat V-shaped ball crossing area 50 is shown. For this purpose, a double hook 51 is provided with which the additional rope 8 is pulled down at a selectable point and hooked into the tennis net 1. As a result, the ball crossing area 50 has the normal net height in the middle, while an increased net height is specified on the sides, which can only be overcome by topspin-hit balls, while non-topspin-hit balls get stuck in the additional net.
