Abstract

Combination cock 20 for use in a milking pipe layout in conjunction with the coupling of the milking set 17 to a milk line 11 and also to a vacuum line 15, which milk line 11 has an opening 18, and which vacuum line 15 has an opening 19. The combination cock 20 comprises a valve housing part 21 designed to be fastened to at least one of the lines 11, 15 and with an opening 28, which can be made to communicate with the opening 18, and an opening 40, which is connected to a channel 41 and a second channel 42, which second channel 42 can be made to communicate with the opening 19, and with a groove 75 extending in a lengthwise direction AB, which in a first transverse direction CD is at least partly bounded by a bottom surface 55, and a first valve element mounted at a front end of said groove 75 in the form of a sliding damper 33, provided with a first coupling element 98, which can slide from a first position, where it covers the opening 28, to a second position, where the opening 28 is at least partly exposed, and with a second valve element 97, which in a first position shuts a passage between the opening 40 and the second channel 42, and which can move into a second position, namely, in the channel 41, so that the passage between the opening 40 and the second channel 42 is at least partly open. The combination cock also comprises an opening part 60 with a milk pipe 61 and a vacuum pipe 62 with rear openings for connection to the milking set 17 and front openings 68, 69, and with a second coupling element 99 designed to be introduced through the groove 75 and intended to interact with the coupling element 98 of the sliding damper 33 and produce a shifting of the sliding damper 33, so that the front opening 68 in the milk pipe 61, via the opening 28 in the valve housing part 21, can be made to communicate with the opening 18 in the milk line 11, and with an opening mechanism 100, which is intended to be introduced through the opening 40 of the valve housing part 21 and drive the second valve element 97 into the channel 41, such that the front opening 69 in the vacuum pipe 62, via the channel 42 in the valve housing part 21, can be made to communicate with the opening 19 in the vacuum line 15. The combination cock is characterized in that the groove 75 is unbounded in a direction DC opposite the first transverse direction CD. Furthermore, the bottom surface 55 of the groove 75 at the front end, immediately upstream from the sliding damper 33, has a collection channel 117. This achieves advantages in terms of operation, ergonomics, and hygiene. Finally, the combination cock fulfils the current standards, also with respect to milking of two cows at the same time. <IMAGE>
