Abstract

An electronic public transport time table information system with information columns (2) at stops which continuously provide data from the appropriate transport bodies´ operations centres (1), i.e. without the need for interrogation by passengers. Hand-held terminals (3) operated by a microprocessor have only receivers (31) to receive these data (23), at least some of which can be stored in the hand-held terminal. The data are divided into data groups, one of which contains the names of all the places and possibly the streets in a region covered by a public transport system, another contains a description of the relevant public transport systems lines and another contains the time tables.
