The present invention relates to a pile fleece, in particular for tennis hall surfaces made of needle felt with a structure formed on its surface consisting of elevations produced by needling and depressions running between them.
Tennis halls in particular are now fitted with carpet floor coverings. A fleece floor covering based on needle felt, which has a dimpled structure on its surface, is becoming increasingly popular. A granulate, preferably a rubber granulate, is sprinkled into this dimpled structure of individual elevations and the depressions formed between them, which results in a floor covering with characteristics similar to those of clay tennis courts. The well-known fleece floor covering has the disadvantage, however, that a large amount of rubber granulate is required to produce the desired flooring properties, in particular the required sliding properties. This results in high production and maintenance costs.
The present invention is based on the object of improving the known pile fleece covering based on needle felt in such a way that, while maintaining good sliding properties,
higkeit der Granulatbedarf wesentlich verringert wird. The need for granules is significantly reduced.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the elevations have an approximately hexagonal, octagonal or circular shape with a surface area of at least 100 mm 2 and are arranged in rows, the elevations of one row being offset from the elevations of the row below or above in such a way that a honeycomb-like structure is obtained and the depressions form continuous, interconnected grooves.
This inventive design significantly reduces the proportion of the surface area of the depressions in relation to the total surface area, so that the amount of granulate required for spreading is significantly reduced. This results in significant cost savings. However, the inventive design does not impair the sliding properties of the floor covering, because the channel-shaped depressions filled throughout with granulate ensure a uniform distribution of the granulate over the entire floor surface. Since the channels do not form right angles with one another, the granulate can move within the channel-shaped depressions without jamming, so that unhindered sliding on the inventive covering is possible without the occurrence of stopping points.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are contained in the subclaims.
Es zeigen:The invention will now be explained in more detail using the embodiment shown in the accompanying drawings. They show:
Fig. 1 eine Aufsicht auf einen Abschnitt eines erfindungsgemäßen Polvlieses,Fig. 1 is a plan view of a section of a pile fleece according to the invention,
Fig. 2 eine perspektivische Ansicht eines erfindungsgemäßen Polvlieses undFig. 2 is a perspective view of a pile fleece according to the invention and
Fig. 3 einen Schnitt entlang der Schnittlinie III-III in Fig. 1.Fig. 3 is a section along the line III-III in Fig. 1.
Die Breite der rinnenartigen Vertiefungen 3 beträgt vorteilhafterweise ca. 3 bis 7 mm, vorzugsweise wieA pile fleece 1 according to the invention is made of needle felt. This is a felt made from non-felting fibers using a so-called needle machine. On the top side, the pile fleece 1 has elevations 2 and groove-like depressions 3. In the embodiment shown, the elevations 2 have the shape of an approximately equilateral hexagon. The surface area of the elevations 2 is approximately 2.5 to 3.5 cm 2 . The elevations 2 are arranged in rows in a uniform manner, with the elevations 2 of each row being offset from those of the row above or below in such a way that a honeycomb structure of the pile fleece 1 results. The groove-like depressions 3 present between the elevations 2 form a continuous groove system. Due to the design according to the invention, the groove sections never run at right angles to one another, so that granulate located in the grooves can be displaced or moved freely within the grooves without the occurrence of stop points and the resulting jams. A similar honeycomb structure can also be achieved with octagonal elevations 2 or approximately circular elevations 2, whereby the surface area of the elevations can advantageously be between 100 mm 2 and 900 mm 2 according to the invention. The width of the groove-like depressions 3 is advantageously approximately 3 to 7 mm, preferably as
im dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel 5 mm.In the illustrated embodiment 5 mm.
The elevations 2 are, as can be seen from Fig. 3, formed from beads 5 lying next to one another, made of a large number of loops, which are pressed out of the needle felt material by needling. In the embodiment shown, the respective elevation 2 is formed from five beads 5, with the middle bead having a length of 25 mm and the two outer beads 5 having a length of approx. 10 mm. In the embodiment shown, the height of the beads 5 is approximately 5 mm with a thickness of the pile fleece 1 of approx. 10 mm. On its back, the pile fleece 1, which is not shown, can be provided with a conventional coating of rubber in a known manner.
The design of the pile fleece 1 according to the invention results in the advantage that the amount of granulate scattered into its surface, in particular rubber granulate, which is required to produce a certain sliding ability for use as a tennis hall flooring, is significantly reduced compared to known pile fleece floorings.
