Description
Process for the production of bitumen emulsions It has so far not been There is a lack of attempts to convert solid or semi-solid bituminous substances into stable, aqueous ones To transfer emulsions. A wide variety of substances are used for this purpose Help taken, such as fatty and resinous soaps, gum, carbohydrates, tannins, Silica, metal hydroxides, carbonate of lime, magnesia, clay and many others more. It has also been proposed to use humic substances as emulsifying agents. but there is only one of these bitumen emulsions produced in a known manner limited shelf life and shelf life too, and besides, they are so different Emulsions containing emulsifiers are not equally good for all uses suitable. It has now been found that you can be extremely durable and about one Can be stored for a very long period of time, for all previously known purposes suitable bitumen emulsions can come from using the solid or semi-solid. Bitumina in the molten state in a mixture of incompletely saponified montan wax and condensation products as they are after. the patent 721 003 from lignite extracts and sulphite liquor are obtained, enters.
The emulsions obtained in this way can be diluted with water as desired without the bitumen forming and settling. as These bitumen emulsions have proven particularly advantageous in the production of Bitumen cardboard proved to be the condensation products contained in this emulsion according to patent 7231003 the size of the paper in the fabric according to its intended use able to influence favorably. In addition, the cellulose residues can be in the wastewater: recovering it much more easily than if. other bitumen emulsions, which do not contain the abovementioned condensation products are used for sizing have been..
However, the emulsions prepared according to the invention can just as well also used for the impregnation of textiles as well as for road construction purposes will.
The striking emulsifying effect of the condensation products obtained in accordance with patent 721 003 is all the more surprising since there was also the opinion that water-soluble humic substances would be less suitable as emulsifiers for bitumens than water-insoluble humic substances.
It was therefore not foreseeable that the inventively used, Water-soluble condensation products per se can be used in the manner indicated and that especially valuable products for the manufacture of bitumen cardboard can be obtained.
Example 771: g of montan wax are melted in a kettle equipped with a stirrer and 182 kg of water at 60 to 70 ° are gradually added. Then 5.5 kg of sodium hydroxide solution from q.2 ° Be are gradually stirred into the aqueous suspension. After a light brown, homogeneous mass has arisen, 82.5 kg of a dry condensation product made from brown coal extract and sulphite waste liquor, as obtained according to patent 721003, are added in small portions. 378.5 g of molten bitumen are slowly stirred into this mass and, when the addition is complete, about zoo kg of water are added to the mass. The mixture is boiled for 2 to 3 hours and after this time the emulsion is adjusted to a bitumen content of about 50% by adding water at about 60 °. Then it is again vigorously boiled for a short time, whereby the initially thick porridge becomes thin and even. This sign represents the end of the reaction. By adding more water, the emulsion can be applied to any. Salary can be adjusted.
