Description

In the previously known constructions of large area lights for Fluorescent lamps are fluorescent lamps preferably in a housing that in extension of the candelabra, installed vertically or at an angle. The installation is usually arranged in such a way that the tubes are standing around you arranged reflector are attached around. In addition, there are many in this Housing covering roof additionally arranged radially and 'lying horizontally Tubes attached. The special location of these tubes requires a glass cover against snow and driving rain. In addition, this glass cover has the major disadvantage that penetrating dust and penetrating insects in the lamps the light emission by depositing on the glass and absorbing significant amounts of light. Another disadvantage of this known construction is that the free radiation of the vertically or horizontally arranged tubes through mechanical built-in parts the luminaire or the neighboring tube is severely hindered.

Diese bekannten Nachteile soll die in Abb. i und 2 dargestellte Großflächenleuchte dadurch beheben, daß die Leuchtstoffröhren i in einem tiefstrahlerartigen Dach 2 z. B. in drei Gruppen in Dreieckform (s. These known disadvantages are to be found in the large-area luminaire shown in FIGS fix in that the fluorescent tubes i in a downlight-like roof 2 z. B. are arranged in three groups in a triangular shape (see Fig.2) and the arrangement the tubes i is terraced (see Fig. i), so that one is not handicapped Radiation downwards or in the direction of the road, directiona and direction b (see Figure 2), is guaranteed. The fluorescent lights are also shaped around a tulip Arranged around reflector 3, which is designed like a deep radiator upwards and on the candelabra below the roof is pulled down to create a to achieve additional scatter, as indicated by 4 ati @. The lamp is after Open at the bottom, i.e. without a glass cover. In order to avoid glare, there is an angular Support frame 5 provided with opal glass or cathedral glass panes. Another The advantage of this triangular arrangement of the tubes (Fig. 2) is that. that the lamp can be rotated so that the tube group b and the tube group a both with radiate their broadside in the direction of the roadway and the tube group c in the direction of the sidewalk, so that two-thirds of the light energy is inevitably towards of the roadway and a third is directed towards the sidewalk.

As is well known, large area lights are used in; almost all cases tight next to the curb 6 of the sidewalk, as shown in Fig. 2. Damage to the tubes by driving rain is prevented by the Tubes can be attached to the downlight-like reflector 3 so high that that horizontal driving rain cannot reach them.
