Description

Zunächst -wird die Rohgrünfaser in einer Kammer mit Chlorgas unter Druck gebleicht (s. die Abbildung).Process for bleaching raw, machine-made green vegetable fibers of all kinds Experience has shown that the structure of the green natural fibers is impaired when bleached with staxl, hypochlorite liquor. For the treatment of these fibers it was therefore necessary to look for a suitable method to bleach them well without changing the structure. Experiments were made with dry chlorine gas. Thereby exceptional successes were achieved. The treatment according to this method proceeds as follows: The green raw fibers obtained with the various deflashing machines in use are subjected to four processes - i. First, the raw green fiber is bleached in a chamber with chlorine gas under pressure (see illustration).

The fibers bleached in this way are then treated at 'about 30' with chlorine liquor, which has been produced using the chlorine-containing exhaust gases from the chlorine gas bleaching and which may contain glycerine.

3. The fibers bleached and treated in this way are rinsed thoroughly with cold water in a centrifuge and then centrifuged.

The fibers coming out of the centrifuge are almost dry Kiln or air dried to the desired level of humidity.

In this way of working, the fiber is refined without Damage to the fiber structure.

The drawing serves to illustrate the Bleichkauuner. The chamber consists of a cylindrical container, the front side of which is closed by a door. Clinkerite inlays and safe nut screw connections enable an absolutely tight seal. After the sieves S have been filled with green fibers, the door T is tightly closed and chlorine gas is introduced from the bottle F. The air initially in the chamber is displaced by the chlorine gas and escapes through the valve V. Through the manometer III and through the pressure in the chamber is regulated by regulating valve R. After a short time the bleaching is finished. The chlorine gas is pressed by a pump into a tub B (not shown). After the gas has been completely sucked out of the chamber, the door T is opened. The fibers are lowered onto the prepared bath where they are briefly exposed to the action, followed by rinsing and spinning.
