Description
Centrifuge vessel with collecting attachment Centrifuge vessels are used to To separate substances based on their different specific gravity. Around To be able to measure or recognize the separation product of interest better, brings so-called collection approaches are often found on the centrifuge vessels, which are usually smaller Have a diameter than the centrifuge tube and a tapered extension represent the same. The invention relates to an improvement of such centrifuge tubes, above all else. then occurs when centrifugation in a such a position of the tube takes place that its axis coincides with the axis of rotation of the centrifuge does not form an angle of go °, but rather a smaller angle the process of separating two substances of different specific gravity faster, if the vessel is arranged at an acute angle to the centrifuge axis, because then the heavier particles closed on the side remote from the centrifuge axis wander along the vessel and, as it were, add up their tendency to move. at the tube according to the invention, the collecting vessel is so eccentric to Axis of the Zentrifugiergefäles attached to this that part of the inner wall of the Centrifuge tube straight into the adjoining part of the inner wall of the collection attachment passes over, as the figure suggests. The particles initially move away in Direction of arrows 1 from centrifuge axis 2 and then move parallel to the wall 3 of the centrifuge vessel 4 in the direction of arrows 5. Since according to the invention of Collection approach 6 is arranged eccentrically, the particles migrate in the device Arrows 5 directly into the collecting vessel 6 without leaving their - direction of movement to be distracted. If the collecting vessel 6 were to be arranged centrally to the vessel 4, so the particles would have to change their direction of travel before entering the vessel 6. The consequence would be a congestion, an unwanted accumulation in the bend or a vortex formation that nullifies the separation.
Since it is important with the tubes according to the invention, after which Direction the collecting vessel 6 is arranged eccentrically in the extension of the pipe 4, according to the invention, the holder of the centrifuge tube 4 is designed so that only a certain position of the tube is possible. In this example this is done in that the sleeve 7 carries a bottom plate 8 with an eccentric Lochöffnun 9 is equipped. Insertion of the centrifuge tube 4 is therefore only possible if the collecting vessel is inserted into the hole 9, d. H. if the The correct position of the tube is selected.
The invention can of course also be applied to such centrifugation vessels transferred, in which the collecting attachment is arranged at the upper end of the vessel, around better prove or measure a lighter component can. In this case the unbound path is on the centrifuge axis to be provided on the facing side.
Has the collection or measuring vessel flat, z. B. oval cross-section, so the vessel is arranged in such a way that the major cross-sectional axis is in one plane comes to rest with the centrifuge axis of rotation. That way you get a better one Separation of the rising and falling parts of the liquid.
