Ihre Herstellung erfolgt bisher in der Weise, ' daß pulvriges, amorphen Kohlenstoff enthaltendes Material mit Teer angerührt und das Gemenge dann in die gewünschten Formen gepreßt und auf hohe Temperatur erhitzt wird. Um nun dem Formling die nötige Festigkeit zu geben, wird er mit einer reinen Zuckerlösung durchtränkt und vorsichtig auf höhere Temperatur erhitzt; dieses Verfahren wird mehrfach wiederholt.
