Description

Sheet material as a carrier for photographic emulsions, photographic Images and the like from carbohydrate derivatives with the addition of white, opaque ones Pigments The invention relates to a sheet material as a support for photographic materials Emulsions or photographic images made from cellulose or cellulose derivatives, which, as is well known, white, opaque pignients are eaten. the The invention aims to provide a sheet material by leaving the composition The mass is designed in such a way that it is made from relatively pure Celltilose in finely divided Condition exists. In addition to purified cellulose, you can also use cellulose esters or Use cellulose, compound compounds and gelatinizing or plasticizing agents for shaping use. It is also advantageous to use rubber, resins or oils in the cellulose mass add a small amount.

For example, the following details indicate the composition of masses for use in making sheet material: Eg p ie 1 1 Finely powdered cleaned Cellulose ............ 10 parts by weight Zinc oxide, titanium white or another pigment or mixtures of the same io Cellulose acetate ......... io Cedarwood Oil ........... 4 Acetone ................ ioo Plasticizers .... 4 Example 2 Cellulose acetate ......... 10 parts by weight Cedarwood Oil ............ 2 - Triphenyl phosphate ...... 3 - Boiled linseed oil ......... 0.5 - Acetone ............. 80 - Finely powdered cleaned Cellulose ............ 2 Titanium white ............. 15 Barium sulfate ............ 3 The relative amounts of the constituents of the compositions according to the above-mentioned examples can be varied within wide limits, just as the nature of the white pigments to be used can vary according to the desired requirements. The finished sheet material has considerable advantages over compositions containing cellulose derivatives, since the surface of the material is such that there is a firm connection between the substance and the coating on which the photographic image is to be applied. The surface is highly luminous and has the ability to reflect light to a considerable extent. For this reason, the material is more suitable than paper for serving as a support for images which are formed in different primary colors superimposed on one another, as is usual in photography in natural colors.
