Abstract

The steps of an escalator are cleaned one at a time while the escalator is stationary, the top surface of one step and the nearly vertical surface of the next step being cleaned at the same time. These zones are enclosed by a sealing cover (9). Under the cover are cleaning fluid sprays (7) and a rotating cylindrical brush (1). The fluid is delivered by a pump, and is then collected by vessel (5) at the rear, after passing through filters. The cover is combined with a sealing strip (4) at the junction between the two steps. Im dritten Arbeitsschritt wird das Schmutzwasser über Grobfilter 8 und Feinfilter 5a abgesaugt und in der Auffangwanne 5 aufgefangen. Claims (4)

1. Vorrichtung zum Reinigen von Rolltreppenstufen mittels rotierender Bürste (1) und Reinigungsflüssigkeit in einem durch eine umlaufende Dichtung (9) gegenüber der Außenwelt abgeschlossenen Raum (A), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß,
  • a) die umlaufende Dichtung (9) die Tritt- und Stirnfläche einer voll ausgefahrenen Stufe umfaßt und zu den Nachbarstufen zusätzliche Dichtungsgummis (4) angeordnet sind und
  • b) für den Kreislauf der Reinigungsflüssigkeit eine Umwälzpumpe (11) vorgesehen ist, die auf einen Düsenbalken einwirkt, wobei das Schmutzwasser über Filter (5a, 8) in eine Auffangwanne (5) abläuft.
