The use of ethanolamides of formula R-CO-NH-CH2CH2OH as solvents in the prodn. of emulsion-concentrates in plant protection is new where R is -CH3, -C2H5 -C3H7, -OCH3, -OC2H5 (-OC2H5=CH3-CHOH- or HOCH2CH2-). A typical compsn. is tactic acid ethanolamide in combination with triflorin and a surface active material such as polyoxyethylene-fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene-fatty acid alcohol ether alkylsulphonate and aryl sulphonate. Fungicides, insecticides or herbicides contain 10-40% of an opt. active agent 50-80% of the ethanolamide and 3-20% of a surface active agent.
