Abstract

A medicinal pill or tablet can be easily cut into halves by means of a device consisting of two arms (1,2) which are hinged together by a pin (3). The lower part (1) has a recess (5) at the end opposite to the hinge. This recess is shaped to receive the pill or tablet. The upper arm (2) is provided with a centrally positioned blade (4). The device is used by swinging the upper arm (2) away from the lower arm (1) and placing the pill or tablet in the recess (5). The upper arm (2)is then swung back over the lower arm and pressed against it so that the blade (4) cuts the pill or tablet into two parts.
