Container with inset bottom and/or lid, more especially packaging box for food, chemical, industrial or other products, particularly for pressurized products or products necessitating thermal processing such as pasteurization or sterilization and consisting of a composite tubular body (2), a base (4) and/or a lid (6) made up of a sealing flange (16), a collar (17) and an annular rim (19) curving back from the circumference of the ends (3) and (5) of the tubular body (2), the said container additionally comprising a thermoplastic connection (31) for fastening the bottom (4) and/or the lid (6) extending over the whole height of the collar (17), bestriding the upper and/or lower edges (38) of the tubular body (2) and covering the ends of the latter to a depth corresponding to the height of the curved end (22) of the annular rim (19) of the bottom (4) and/or of the lid (6), characterized by the fact that the annular rim (19) of the bottom (4) and/or of the lid (6) has an outer circumference receding from the outer circumference (11) of the tubular body (2), the edge (33) of the said annular rim (19) engaging in a peripheral groove resulting from local crushing of the outer circumference (11) of the tubular body (2) by the said annular rim (19).
