Über dem Schuppenstrom 9 sind drei Preß­ bänder 10 angeordnet, die um auf den Wellen 11 und 12 sitzende Umlenkrollen 13 und 14 geführt sind, wobei die Welle 12 ange­ trieben ist. Die Bänder 2 und 10 sind mit gleicher Geschwindig­ keit angetrieben, wobei die Preßbänder 10 den Schuppenstrom 9 gegen die Transportebene 8 pressen, so daß die einzelnen Druckbogen relativ zueinander nicht verschiebbar sind. Seit­ lich schließen an das Gleitblech 7 zwei ortsfeste Gegenmes­ ser 14 bzw. 15 an, die mit ihren oberen Schneidkanten 16 in der Transportebene 8 liegen. Über jedem der beiden Gegenmes­ ser 14 bzw. 15 ist je eine Messerscheibe 17 bzw. 18 angeordnet, welche auf zugeordneten Antriebeswellen 19 drehfest aufgesetzt sind. Jede der Messerscheiben 17, 18 besteht aus einem Träger­ teller 20, an dem eine Vielzahl von Messern 21 radialstrahlig befestigt sind. Die Messer 21 sind mit einer vorangehenden Schneidkante 22 versehen, die mit den Schneidkanten 16 der Ge­ genmesser 14, 15 zusammenwirken.
