Dachgerüste üblicher Bauart sind aus Stahl gefertigt und daher nur mit großer Kraftanstrengung auf ein Dach zu montieren. Durch einen vorgegebenen Abstand der Fixiebohrungen in den verschiedenen Holmen sind die bekannten Gerüsten nicht stufenlos auf jede Dachneigung einstellbar. Die Befestigungshaken zum Einhängen des Geüsts an den Dachlatten sind entweder nur in in der Stückzahl zwei vorhanden, was für eine sichere Befestigung des Gerüsts als sehr wenig bemessen angesehen wird oder wenn vier Haken vorhanden sind, nicht im Abstand verstellbar, so daß ein unterschiedlicher Lattenabstand nicht eingestellt werden kann. Außerdem sind diese Gerüste nicht in der Länge erweiterbar. Ein weiterer Nachteil der bekannten Gerüste ist die Tatsache, daß die als Laufbrett benutzten Holzbretter bei Feuchtigkeit nicht rutschfest sind und außerdem die Befestigung dieser Bretter nicht so erfolgen kann, daß diese gegen das wegrutschen gesichert sind. Auf die Bretter gelegtes Werkzeug ist nicht gegen Herunterfallen gesichert.Roof scaffolds of the usual design are made of steel and can therefore only be mounted on a roof with great effort.
