Computer desk

The invention relates to a computer desk.

A conventional computer desk as shown in Fig. 4 comprises two upright support frame members A arranged on two opposite sides, a table top B connected to the upright support frame members A at the top and capable of supporting a computer, and a transverse support plate C arranged between and connected to the upright support frame members A near the bottom thereof and capable of supporting a printer D. This construction of a computer desk is not adjustable after assembly. Therefore, the height of the table top C cannot be adjusted to accommodate different users. The space between the top of the support plate C and the bottom of the table top B cannot be adjusted to accommodate different printers.

The present invention has been created to provide an adjustable computer desk that avoids the above problems.

According to the invention, the computer desk has a base part, two upright support sleeves, which rise from both sides of the base part, each of the upright support sleeves

sleeves having a longitudinal row of through holes, two upright support rods slidably inserted into the upright support sleeves, the support rods having a corresponding longitudinal row of through holes connected to the longitudinal row of through holes of the support rods, a first table top fixedly connected to the upright support rods at right angles and capable of supporting a computer, and a second table top perpendicularly connected to the longitudinal row of through holes of the upright support sleeves and the longitudinal rows of through holes of the upright support rods by screws and capable of supporting a printer. When the screws are loosened from the second table top and the upright support sleeves and the upright support rods, the height of the second table top and also the height of the first table top can be adjusted accordingly.

The invention is described below using an advantageous embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings. They show:

Fig. 1 is an exploded view of an adjustable computer desk according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention;

Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of a computer and a printer placed on the first and second table tops of the computer table according to the invention;

Fig. 3 is a similar view to Fig. 2, but the height of the upright support rods is set differently; and

Rg. 4 shows a perspective view of a previously known computer desk.

As shown in Fig. 1, the adjustable computer desk of the present invention generally comprises two upright support rods 1, two upright support sleeves 2, a first table top 3 adapted to support a computer, a second table top 5 adapted to support a printer, and a base 5. The upright support sleeves 2 rise from both sides of the base 5. The upright

Support rods 1 are slidably inserted into the upright support sleeves 2 from above. The first table top 3 is attached to the upright support rods 1 on the top at right angles to them. The upright support sleeves 2 and the upright support rods 1 have corresponding longitudinal rows of through holes 21,11. The second table top 4 is vertically and firmly attached to the longitudinal row of through holes 21 of the upright support sleeves 2 and the longitudinal row of through holes 11 of the upright support rods 1 by means of screws 6.

As shown in Figs. 2 and 3, when the screws 6 are loosened and removed from the longitudinal rows of through holes 11 of the upright support rods 1, the height of the upright support rods 1 can be changed with respect to the upright support sleeves 2. When this height is adjusted, the second table top 4 can be re-attached to the upright support sleeves 2.

The invention can be summarized as follows. The adjustable computer desk includes a base, two upright support sleeves rising from either side of the base, each of the upright support sleeves having a longitudinal row of through holes, two upright support rods slidably inserted into the upright support sleeves, the upright support rods having a corresponding longitudinal row of through holes connected to the longitudinal row of through holes of the upright support sleeves, a first table top fixedly connected to the upright support rods at right angles thereto and adapted to support a computer, and a second table top connected at right angles to the longitudinal row of through holes of the upright row of holes of the support sleeves and the longitudinal row of through holes of the upright support rods by means of screws and adapted to support a printer.

Claims (1)

Claim for protection 1. Computer desk with a base part, characterized in that it is adjustable and has two upright support sleeves (2) which rise from both sides of the base part (5), each of the upright support sleeves (2) having a longitudinally extending row of through holes (21), two upright support rods (1) which are slidably inserted into the upright support sleeves (2) and have longitudinally extending rows of through holes (11) which can be connected to the through holes (21) of the longitudinally extending row of through holes (21) of the support sleeves (2), a first table top (3) which is firmly attached to the upright support rods (1) at right angles, and a second table top (4) which is perpendicular to the longitudinally extending rows of through holes (21,11) of the upright support sleeves (2) and the upright support rods (1) by means of screws (6).
