CHEMISCHE FABRIK LADENBURG G.m.b.H. in LADENBURG, Baden.CHEMICAL FACTORY LADENBURG G.m.b.H. in LADENBURG, Baden.
Desinfektionsverfahren. Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 25. Mai 1909 ab. Disinfection process. Patented in the German Empire on May 25, 1909.
Halogennaphtolen. The present invention proposes, for disinfection purposes, halogenated naphthols, in particular the chlorinated and brominated ß-naphthols, which are particularly high bactericidal power to use. Extensive attempts to find out which Invention have shown that the disinfecting power of ß-naphthol itself against certain bacteria increases if up to 4 halogen atoms are introduced into it will. If more halogen atoms are introduced, these have no beneficial effect on the disinfecting effect achieved with 4 atoms. Furthermore, it has been found that the different halogen-ß-naphthols on the different bacteria are very different act strongly. E.g. tri- and tetrabromo- β -naphtol act on staphylo- and streptococci, Dichlor-ß-naphtol on Paratyphus bacilli, Dibrom-S-naphtol on Bact. coli. particularly strong. This strong disinfecting effect of individual halogen naphthols enables their use in certain cases expediently either alone or in mixtures with other disinfectants or halogen naphthols.
About these very essential properties of halogen-ß-naphthols as disinfectants Then there are two more circumstances which make these products very special for the above purposes make appear suitable, namely the non-toxicity to the human and animal Organism and the almost complete odorlessness.
As a result of the insolubility of the free halo-naphthols in water and due to the easy solubility of their salts in water, furthermore by the more or less easy solubility in Alcohol, oils, fats, solutions of salicylates, salt solutions of various sulfonic acids there is the possibility of an appropriate, comprehensive use of these disinfectants.
What makes the present invention particularly valuable is the fact that the First halogenate soap solution containing naphthols with water to form a clear solution supplies, which only after some time separates the disinfectant like an emulsion, without the cooperation of air or air carbonic acid necessary for this excretion were. In this way it is made possible that the disinfectant, since it is still in solution, deeper into the pores of the objects and bodies treated with it can penetrate. In the following Conversion of the aqueous liquid, which is a clear solution, into an emulsion in The disinfectant has a deeper and longer lasting effect in the depths of the pores What could not happen if the disinfectant immediately emulsified in the water would retire.
Die Ausführung des Verfahrens sei an folgenden Beispielen erläutert: Man löse Tribrom- ß-naphtol in der hinreichenden Menge Natronlauge und verdünne so weit, daß 1 g Tribrom-ß-naphtol in 100 1 Wasser enthalten istThe execution of the process is illustrated by the following examples: Dissolve tribromo- ß-naphtol in a sufficient amount of sodium hydroxide solution and dilute so far that 1 g of tribromo-ß-naphtol is contained in 100 l of water
Die Staphylokokken werden nicht zur Entwicklung kommen.(ι: iooooo); of this one puts 2 ecm by 2 ecm Broth and infect this 4 ecm with 2 drops of a 24 hour staphylococcal broth culture. The staph will not develop.
In a 1 percent solution of tribromos-naphtol a staphylococcus agar culture is killed within 3 minutes.
Man löse 5 g Dibrom-ß-naphtol in 100 g Spiritus saponat. Dissolve 5 g of dibromo-β-naphtol in 100 g Spirit saponat. Quay. and pour 1 ecm of it in 5 liters of water (1: 100000). Add 2 ecm of this dilution to 2 ecm of bouillon and infect with 2 drops of a 24 hour coli broth culture, the bacteria will do not develop.
Kai. 400 ecm Wasser, so daß die Lösung 1 Prozent Dibrom-ß-naphtol enthält, so tötet dieselben eine Coli-Agarkultur in 3 Minuten ab.Adds saponate to this solution of dibromo-naphthol in alcohol. Quay. 400 ecm Water, so that the solution contains 1 percent dibromo-β-naphtol, will kill you Coli agar culture in 3 minutes.
