the first and second floor elements ( 2 , 3 ) each have bevelled edges ( 6 , 7 ) on the first and second sides (4, 5) of the floor element, so that when the first and second floor elements ( 2 , 3 ) are connected, a groove ( 8 ) is formed on the upper side of the floor covering ( 1 ),
characterized in that
the first and the second floor element ( 2 , 3 ) have different width dimensions (b ₁ , b ₂ ).

Floor covering ( 1 ) according to claim 1, characterized in that the groove ( 8 ) has a V-shape, wherein the angle ( 9 ) between the surface of the floor element ( 2 , 3 ) and the side of the V-shaped groove ( 8 ) is between 5° and 85°, preferably between 25° and 50° and particularly preferably about 35°.

3. Floor covering ( 1 ) according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the sides of the groove ( 8 ) have rounded transitions with the surface.

4. Floor covering ( 1 ) according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the depth of the groove ( 8 ) is between 5% and 50%, preferably between 5% and 30% and particularly preferably about 10% of the thickness (d) of the floor elements ( 2 , 3 ).

5. Floor covering ( 1 ) according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the first and second floor elements ( 2 , 3 ) are rectangular and can be connected mechanically and without glue at the long sides (4, 5).

6. Floor covering ( 1 ) according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the corresponding part of a snap, click or swivel closure is formed on the first and second sides (4, 5) of the first and second floor elements ( 2 , 3 ).

7. Floor covering ( 1 ) according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the width dimensions (b ₁ , b ₂ ) of the first and second floor elements ( 2 , 3 ) differ between 10% and 90%, preferably between 30% and 60% and particularly preferably by about 50%.

8. Floor covering ( 1 ) according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the first and second floor element ( 2 , 3 ) is designed such that it cannot be connected to an identical floor element ( 2 , 3 ) on its first or second side (4, 5).

Floor covering ( 1 ) according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the first and second floor elements ( 2 , 3 ) are designed on sides (12, 13) adjacent to the first and second sides (4, 5) in such a way that the floor element ( 2 , 3 ) can be connected mechanically and without glue to another floor element.

Floor covering ( 1 ) according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the first and second floor element ( 2 , 3 ) comprise wood and/or fiber material such as MDF, HDF and/or plastic and/or laminate and possibly additionally a wood veneer and/or imitation veneer and/or a decorative layer and/or linoleum and/or PVC and/or cork and/or paper and/or wax and/or plastics and/or colors and/or agents which provide liquid and/or moisture resistance and/or repellency, in particular against water.

11. Kit for producing a floor covering ( 1 ) according to one of claims 1 to 10 consisting of one or more packages.

12. Construction kit according to claim 11, characterized in that construction instructions for producing a floor covering with floor elements having different width dimensions are included.
