Die Neuerung betrifft einen Zahnzwischenraumreiniger bestehend aus einem Handgriff und einer damit gelenkig verbundenen Reinigungsspitze zum flexiblen Gebrauch in allen Regionen der Mundhöhle.The innovation concerns an interdental cleaner consisting of a handle and a cleaning tip connected to it in an articulated manner for flexible use in all regions of the oral cavity.

Bisher bekannte Geräte sind:Devices known so far are:

a) Die in der zahnärztlichen Prophylaxe und Therapie eingesetzten Sealer und Küretten aus Stahl zur Entfernung von harten und weichen Belägen auf Zahn- bzw. Wurzeloberflächen mit fest vorgegebenem Anstellwinkel für den jeweiligen Bereich der Mundhöhle, in dem das entsprechende Instrument zur Anwendung kommt.a) The sealers and curettes made of steel used in dental prophylaxis and therapy for the removal of hard and soft deposits on tooth or root surfaces with a fixed angle of attack for the respective area of the oral cavity in which the corresponding instrument is used.

Zu a) Derartige Instrumente sind zwar die effektivsten Handinstrumente zur Entfernung von Belägen auf Zahnoberflächen; sie sind aber ausschließlich der Anwendung durch den Zahnarzt vorbehalten und erfordern zudem viel Übung im Umgang.Regarding a) Although such instruments are the most effective hand instruments for removing plaque from tooth surfaces, they are reserved exclusively for use by dentists and require a lot of practice in handling.

Indem man das Zahnhölzchen etwas steiler in die Zahnfleischtasche einführt, erreicht man damit sogar den Grund der Tasche und die dort vorhandenen Ablagerungen, die durch Spülen allein nicht entfernt werden können. Der entscheidende Nachteil aber ist, daß diese Handhabung nur im Frontzahnbereich und im vorderen Seitenzahnbereich und nur von der Lippen- bzw. Wangenseite her funktioniert. Von Gaumen- bzw. Zungenseite her ist das Zahnhölzchen mit den bloßen Fingern nicht mehr zu betätigen, weil der enge Raum der Mundhöhle das nicht zuläßt. Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, ein Instrument zu schaffen, mit dem auch jeder Ungeübte wie mit einem Zahnhölzchen mit flachem dreieckigen Querschnitt Schabebewegungen ausfuhren kann, darüber hinaus aber aus entsprechender Position heraus in jeden Bereich von Zahnfleischtaschen gelangen kann ohne die Schwierigkeit, erst einen exakten Anstellwinkel einstellen oder einnehmen zu müssen.The object of the invention is to create an instrument with which even an inexperienced person can carry out scraping movements like with a toothpick with a flat triangular cross-section, but can also reach every area of the gum pockets from an appropriate position without the difficulty of first having to set or adopt an exact angle of attack.

Erreicht wird diese gelenkige Verbindung durch ein in einer Bewegungsrichtung (Ebene Z) eingeschränktes Kugelgelenk, bei dem die Gelenkkugel (1) mit zwei Achsstummeln (3 a und 3b) versehen ist, deren gemeinsame Drehachse (&agr;) in der Ebene Z liegt und die in einer zirkulären Rinne (6) im Gelenkgehäuse (7) geführt werden. Funktionsweise des Zahnzwischenraumreinigers:How the interdental cleaner works:

Der Anwender dreht die Reinigungsspitze vorab in die etwaige Lage (um die Achsen &agr; und ß), so daß er aus der einzunehmenden Position des Handgriffes die Reinigungsspitze mit dem flachen Rücken zum Zahnfleisch gerichtet in den zu reinigenden Zahnzwischenraum einfuhren kann. Da noch kein vertikaler Reinigungs-/Schabedruck auf die Spitze ausgeübt wird, dreht sich die Spitze aufgrund ihrer Keilform automatisch in die richtige Lage im Zahnzwischenraum. Der Anwender richtet nun durch entsprechende Dreh- und Neigebewegung des Handgriffes die Spitze in Richtung Zahnfleischtaschengrund und reinigt die Tasche durch nach vorn und aufwärts gerichtete Schabebewegungen. Dabei wird die Kugel (1) vermittelt durch den Achsstummel (3 a) als Hypomochlion in die Gelenkpfanne (4) gedrückt und aufgrund der Reibung an einer Ausscherbewegung gehindert. Die Schabebewegung erfolgt somit halbstarr im Gelenk.
