PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
Carbonic baths, d. H. Baths in which carbonic acid develops and those in particular To play a role in the treatment of nervous ailments have previously been through solving Sodium bicarbonate in the bath water and the subsequent addition of sulfuric acid in the form acidic sulfuric acid salt or the introduction of hydrochloric acid. Also consisting of tablets from tartaric acid and bicarbonate with the addition of perfumed rice powder, which make up Carbonic acid developed in bathing water has become known. Adhere to these procedures considerable disadvantages: with the first two it is only unpleasant work with corrosive substances and the poor mixing of the acid with the diluted Carbonate solution and the irregular development of carbon dioxide caused by it are highlighted. An aromatization of these baths was only possible in such a way that the perfume To avoid decomposition, the bath was added separately, again a uniform Distribution of the perfume in the bath water was excluded. The tablet system on the other hand produces a purely local evolution of carbonic acid; there is no effect on the whole body.
The subject of the present invention is now a process for the production of carbonates Baths, which on the one hand completely avoids the disadvantages mentioned, on the other hand the The preparation of the bath is greatly simplified, as is the combination of the carbonic acid Bath with a spruce needle bath permitted, both as a result of the decomposition of the spruce needle extract due to mineral acids as well as its poor solubility was impossible.
A certain amount of sodium bicarbonate is used to carry out the present process dissolved in the bath water and now the appropriate amount of a solution of calcium chloride or an equivalent salt in acetic acid poured over the entire surface of the bath. This thick, clear solution, in which the calcium chloride only serves to increase the specific gravity of acetic acid, immediately sinks below the bath water, spreads in all directions and causes its gradual dilution by the bath water results in an even, non-local evolution of gas.
The use of acetic acid for the development of carbonic acid is also useful the advantage that acetic acid, in contrast to sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, is simultaneous is a good solvent for essential oils. By adding lavender oil, Eau de Cologne or other fragrant oils and essences for acetic acid and Mixing with calcium chloride, a clear solution is also achieved, as is the perfume evenly distributed in the bath water. Such a distribution of the perfume is also at Use of tablets excluded.
Just like essential oils, acetic acid also makes spruce needle extract good solved. Instead of the separate addition of acid and thick black spruce needle extract can therefore a single water
klare Lösung von Chlorcaicium und Fichtennadelextrakt in Essigsäure verwendet werden^ deren Vertheilung im Badewasser eine vollkommene ist.clear solution of chlorcaicium and spruce needle extract can be used in acetic acid; their distribution in bath water is perfect is.
So you can z. B. the bath first 750 g of sodium bicarbonate and then a solution of Add 300 g of chlorocicium in 600 g of acetic acid, which makes a perfume (e.g. 10 g of lavender oil) or 120 g Extractum pini silvestris are added.
It should be expressly noted that other acids take the place of acetic acid that are solvents for essential oils or pine needle extract. That too Chlorcaicium can be replaced by other inert salts that are soluble in acetic acid.
