Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Bepflanzungsmatte (10), deren eine Mattenseite (3) zur Anlage an einer Mauer (2) oder dergleichen vertikal orientierter Unterlage bestimmt ist und an deren anderer Mattenseite (4) ein Vegetationssubstrat (5) anbringbar ist. Die vorbekannte Strukturmattenbahn weist eine dreidimensionale Schlingmatte auf, die mit einem Vlies, einer Folie oder dergleichen poröser Unterlage unterlegt ist. Diese Strukturmattenbahn kann im Bereich ihrer Schlingmatte mit einem strukturstabilen Substrat verfüllt werden, wobei die Füllhöhe geringer als die Dicke bzw. Höhe der Strukturmatte sein soll, so dass eine Freizone verbleibt und die Freizone mit höheren und/oder niederen Pflanzen ausgefüllt werden kann. Nachteilig ist jedoch, dass den auch in höheren Standorten der Mattenbahn befindlichen Pflanzen die für das Pflanzenwachstum erforderliche Feuchtigkeit nicht in ausreichendem Umfang zur Verfügung gestellt werden kann. In DE 84 07 303 U1 wird daher vorausgesetzt, dass die aus den niederen und/oder höheren Pflanzen bestehende Vegetation bereits in der Kultivierungsphase eine sogenannte Stresskonditionierung erhält. Das bedeutet, dass die Pflanzen schon bei der Fertigstellung des Vegetationskörpers auf einen späteren Wassermangelstandort vorbereitet werden, in dem sie in bestimmten Rhythmen nicht gewässert werden und die Pflanzen steigende Salzgaben, insbesondere Koch- und Kalisalze sowie Salicylsäure, erhalten. Durch diese Maßnahmen werden in den Pflanzen physiologische Vorgänge ausgelöst, welche die Anpassungshärte der Stresskonditionierung kennzeichnen. Durch diese Stresskonditionierung sollen die Pflanzen auch an eine vertikale Anordnung der Strukturmattenbahn und somit an extreme Standorte mit Wassermangel angepasst werden.
