Elektronische Wegfahrsperren nach dem Stand der Technik sind in die Elektronik von Kraftfahrzeugen in der Weise integriert, dass dort ein geschlossener Stromkreis Voraussetzung dafür ist, dass betriebsnotwendige Aggregate mit Strom versorgt werden. Damit, dass die Zündung abgestellt wird, wird dieser Stromkreis automatisch unterbrochen mit der Folge, dass das Fahrzeug nicht betriebsbereit ist. Geschlossen wird dieser Stromkreis mittels eines RFID-Systems: Im Zündschlüssel ist ein passiver Transponder integriert, der mit dem Lesegerät der Elektronik korrespondiert. In der Elektronik wird das Kabel getrennt, das den Stromkreis für die serienmäßige Wegfahrsperre bildet.
