Eine spätere zusätzliche und aufwendige Montage der einzelnen Funktionselemente am Seitenwandelement kann dadurch entfallen, wodurch sich die Montage der Seitenwand allgemein vereinfacht. Durch die Ausbildung des Seitenwandelements als Leichtmetalldruckgussteil ist darüber hinaus eine nahezu frei wählbare Formgebung möglich, wobei Leichtmetall darüber hinaus den großen Vorteil des geringen Gewichts besitzt, was im Kraftfahrzeugbau allgemein und insbesondere im Sportwagenbau von besonderer Bedeutung ist. Die Aussteifungskonturen, welche bspw. als Verstärkungsrippen ausgebildet sein können, bilden dabei ebenfalls einen integralen Bestandteil des Seitenwandelements und können vorzugsweise vorab mittels eines entsprechenden Berechnungsprogramms bspw. eines finiten Elementprogramms, exakt berechnet bzw. bestimmt werden. Als Leichtmetall kann hierbei insbesondere Aluminium in Frage kommen, welches darüber hinaus den großen Vorteil bietet, durch die Bildung einer Oxidschicht korrosionsbeständig zu sein.
