Durch diese gegenüber der angestrebten Länge vergrößerte Länge ändert sich der Lenkkopfwinkel und der Nachlauf, d. h. die Fahrzeuggeometrie, wodurch das Fahrverhalten beeinträchtigt wird. Dies hat zur Folge, dass sich der Lenkkopfwinkel und der Nachlauf, d. h. die Fahrzeuggeometrie auch bei wiederholtem starkem Einfedern nicht verändert. Durch die Vermeidung größerer Temperaturschwankungen wird auch die Lebensdauer des Federbeins insgesamt erhöht.
