Abstract

The method involves measuring the deformation and load characteristic value for a partially laminar sample body (10) of a component. The characteristic value is converted to the crash parameter, which describes the deformation characteristics. The parameters are used for determining the crash characteristics of the component. The load acts on the sample body over a force-distribution medium (12) using a plunger (13). An independent claim is also included for a device for determining the crash characteristics of a component.
