The invention relates to a hollow body, in particular a pipe or a pipe fitting, which consists of consists of several parts cast from basalt.

The disadvantage of hollow body parts cast from basalt, especially for pipes or pipe fittings, is due to their short length and insufficient mechanical strength, so that in most cases it is not possible to use them without protective sheaths in which they are enclosed during laying is. The use of basalt casts without such a protective jacket for pipelines in industrial plants is too dangerous from the standpoint of operational safety while using it for waterworks pipelines because of the costly connection of the individual basalt pipe parts and because of their insufficient resistance to internal pressure is in question.

The invention is concerned with making such basalt casts more usable and usable to a greater extent to make, and suggests that the cast basalt parts from a common, with a binder, e.g. B. a curable synthetic resin, soaked glass textile layer are encased, any connecting elements of the hollow body, e.g. B. flanges or sleeves, in a known manner are attached to the envelope in particular by gluing.

It is generally known to assemble pipes from individual pieces and then through these pieces to hold together and strengthen a common coat.

It is common to use a screw-shaped concrete pipe, which is not very resistant to tensile forces wound reinforcement under tensile prestress.

There are also pipes made of brittle material, such. B. carbon tubes, which have a relatively small diameter have, surrounded with a jacket made of synthetic resin-bonded glass fiber fabric, with the pipe flange on this fiberglass fabric layer is attached.

It is not obvious to use the well-known reinforcement of carbon pipes on the formation of basalt casts composite, considerably larger hollow bodies, especially in this case the glass textile layer also has to connect the individual basalt casts with one another.
