Abstract

A device for loading and unloading a rail vehicle (17) is described, longitudinally directed motor vehicles which are stored on pallets being moved by a transverse conveyor into the interior of the rail vehicle (17) so that they can be displaced there in the longitudinal direction and distributed in two rows lying one above the other, in which case grippers (10) which can be lowered in order to lift up the pallets (14, 15) from a chain conveyor circulating in the rail vehicle (17) are arranged on the transverse conveyor and can be lowered under the horizontal track of pins (16), which interact with said conveyor, on the pallets (14, 15). <IMAGE>
