Abstract
本实用新型有关一种电连接器,包括若干个并排堆叠在一起的极板,每个极板包括一个信号装置和一个紧覆在信号装置上的屏蔽装置。信号装置包括一个绝缘体和若干个固持在绝缘体上的信号端子。绝缘体上具有若干个狭槽和与之对应的相同数量的切口。屏蔽装置包括一块金属板,金属板具有若干个第一肋部及相对侧与之对应的相同数量的第二肋部。第一肋部和第二肋部分别插入对应的狭槽和切口中,并且第一肋部的底端和第二肋部的顶端位于一公共平面上,从而使该屏蔽装置不但能屏蔽相邻极板的信号端子之间的电磁干扰,还可以有效屏蔽同一极板上相邻信号端子之间的电磁干扰。
Description
【技术领域】
本实用新型有关一种电连接器,尤指一种内连接于印刷电路板间的具有改良屏蔽装置的电连接器。
【背景技术】
背板连接器通常用于背板系统中以将子板或插卡电性内连接于与其垂直并在两板间传输高速信号或数据的背板或母板上,背板连接器通常包括一个安装在背板上被称作端头的插座连接器及一个安装在子板上与插座连接器匹配的插头连接器。美国专利第5993259,5860816及5980321号案均揭露有这种背板连接器。插座连接器包括若干个并排堆叠在一起的极板,每个极板包括一个绝缘体、形成于绝缘体上的若干个信号端子及一个遮覆在绝缘体上用以屏蔽掉相邻极板上信号端子间的电磁干扰的导电屏蔽装置。随着计算机的发展,背板连接器趋向小型化而背板系统中传输信号和逻辑的速度将越来越快。因此,背板连接器的信号端子的密度将变得越来越高。所以有效地克服背板连接器相邻信号端子间的电磁干扰和串音是一个非常重要的问题。然而,前面提到的美国专利只揭露了运用导电屏蔽装置屏蔽掉相邻极板信号端子间的电磁干扰,而没有揭示如何屏蔽掉每块极板上相邻信号端子间的电磁干扰。因此,这种具有改良防电磁干扰的屏蔽装置的背板连接器变得非常必要。
【发明内容】
本实用新型的目的在于提供一种具有改良屏蔽装置的电连接器,该屏蔽装置容易制造、成本低廉且不但能屏蔽相邻极板的信号端子之间的电磁干扰,还可以有效屏蔽同一极板上相邻信号端子之间的电磁干扰。
为了实现上述目的,本实用新型采用如下技术方案:本实用新型电连接器包括信号装置及屏蔽装置,其中信号装置包括绝缘体及若干设置于绝缘体上的信号端子,屏蔽装置遮覆在信号装置的一侧,其包括金属板,其中上述绝缘体具有若干个狭槽和与之对应的相同数量的切口,狭槽和切口将绝缘体分割成若干部分,并且每个部分具有至少一支信号端子,而屏蔽装置还包括设于金属板一侧且与绝缘体的狭槽数目相同的若干个第一肋部及设于另一侧的若干个与第一肋部相对应的第二肋部,第一肋部和第二肋部分别插入与之对应的狭槽和切口中,并且第一肋部的底端和第二肋部的顶端位于一公共平面上。
与现有技术相比较,本实用新型电连接器通过在相邻极板间设置屏蔽装置,从而屏蔽掉相邻极板间及每块极板上的相邻信号端子间的电磁干扰和串音。

【具体实施方式】
首先请参阅图3与图4,它是本实用新型电连接器1的第一实施例,该电连接器一般被称为插头连接器,其通常被安装在子板(未图示)上与安装在与子板垂直的背板或母板上的插座连接器对接,通过这种方式实现子板与母板间的电性连接。电连接器1包括若干个具有相同结构且并排堆叠在一起的极板10。因此,下面仅描述一块极板10。
请参阅图1与图2,极板10包括一个信号装置11及一个附着在信号装置11上用以提供电磁干扰屏蔽作用的屏蔽装置21,其中信号装置11包括一个绝缘体12和若干个成型在绝缘体中的信号端子14。在本实用新型的较佳实施例中每8个信号端子14设于一个绝缘体12上,并且每个端子14均包括一个嵌入绝缘体12内的保持部、一个从保持部一端延伸出来的压接尾端142及一个从保持部的另一端延伸出来的叉状配合部144。信号端子14的具体构形将在下面的交叉引用过程中做详细描述。压接尾端142延伸超出绝缘体12的侧面122以插入设置在子板上的相应开口(未图示)中;叉状配合部144是从绝缘体12的底面124延伸出来与安装在母板上的插座连接器的相应端子尾端(未图示)配合。绝缘体12具有若干个延伸贯穿于两相对侧表面127的狭槽15,以此将绝缘体12分成若干部分。在本实施例中绝缘体上具有三个狭槽15将绝缘体12分成四个部件121,其中每一部件121均包括两个信号端子14;在绝缘体的底面124上对应于三个狭槽15处还设有三个切口16(如图3所示),并有一细长梁123将每个切口16与对应的狭槽15相互区隔。请参阅图5,实际上,狭槽15的底部尖端152和切口16的顶部尖端162是位于同一垂直于电连接器的平面上,如虚线20所指的位置便是该平面所处位置。
请再参阅图1与图2,屏蔽装置21是从一金属片上冲压形成的,其结构与信号装置11的结构对应,包括一块金属板22,金属板22上具有若干个分别与狭槽15、切口16相对应的狭缝221与开口223(如图6、7所示),其中每个狭缝221及开口223分别通过压铸成型的方式形成第一肋部23及第二肋部25。请参阅图5至7,第一肋部23及第二肋部25分别具有与狭槽15及切口16完全相同的结构,并且对称设置于金属板22上,两肋部23、25分别具有与狭槽15及切口16完全相同的宽度。因此,每个第一肋部23及第二肋部25均可分别插入信号装置11的相应狭槽15及切口16的一半深度处。如图5所示,每个第一肋部23的底端234与和它对应的第二肋部25的顶端254之间形成一个通道222。第一肋部23的底端234位于第一公共平面20上,第二肋部25的顶端254位于第二公共平面20’上,其中第一公共平面20和第二公共平面20’是重叠在一起的。若干个压接形状的接地尾端24是从金属板22的侧面延伸出来并压接到设于子板上的对应接地孔(未图示)中。从金属板22的底侧27延伸出若干对接地脚26用来对接插座连接器的对应接地端(未图示),这些接地脚被若干个凸片29相互分隔开。金属板22又具有若干个从金属板22的外围垂直延伸的凸缘30,通过这种方式在凸缘30之间形成了一收容空间31以紧覆在信号装置11上。
请参阅图3至7,每个信号装置11和相应的屏蔽装置21首先通过将屏蔽装置上与凸缘30位于同一侧的只有半个宽度的第一肋部23和第二肋部25分别插入对应信号装置11的狭槽15和切口16的一半深度处,使信号装置11与屏蔽装置21组装于一起形成极板,然后,每个极板10的第一肋部23和第二肋部25的另一半分别插入相邻极板10的对应狭槽15和切口16中;通过这种方法,使若干个极板10并排组装在一起。另外,极板10的凸缘30紧覆在相邻极板10的信号装置11上,从而形成整个电连接器1,如图4所示。
利用这种装置,本实用新型电连接器1的每块极板10均提供了一种极佳的电磁干扰屏蔽功能。如图4所示,利用设置在信号装置11间的屏蔽装置21上的金属板22,每个信号装置11均被安全遮蔽起来。请进一步参阅图6与图7,通过将两个相关屏蔽装置的两条第一肋部23和两条第二肋部25分别插入于对应的狭槽15和切口16中,从而使得每个部件121上的每两个信号端子14被相互屏蔽开来。请参阅图5,由于第一肋部23和对应的第二肋部25位于一公共平面20上,因此他们可一起将每个部件121上的信号端子14间的串音和电磁干扰完全屏蔽掉。
请参阅图8,电连接器1’为本实用新型的第二实施例。除了信号装置11’的狭槽15’和切口16’以及屏蔽装置21’的第一肋部23’和第二肋部25’外,电连接器1’与电连接器1具有完全相同的结构。在此仅介绍两者的不同之处。每个狭槽(第一肋部)15’(23’)和一对应的切口(第二肋部)16’(25’)分别有一个底端152’(234’)和一个顶端162’(254’)。每个底端和对应的顶端重叠,从而为信号装置11’的每个部件121’间的信号端子14’提供了一种更有效的电磁干扰和串音的屏蔽装置。
Claims (6)
1.一种电连接器,包括:信号装置与屏蔽装置,其中信号装置包括绝缘体及若干形成于绝缘体上的信号端子;屏蔽装置遮覆在信号装置的一侧,其包括金属板,其特征在于:绝缘体具有若干个狭槽和与之对应的相同数量的切口,狭槽和切口将绝缘体分割成若干部分,并且每个部分具有至少一支信号端子,而屏蔽装置还包括设于金属板一侧且与绝缘体的狭槽数目相同的若干个第一肋部及设于另一侧的若干个与第一肋部相对应的第二肋部,第一肋部和第二肋部分别插入与之对应的狭槽和切口中,并且第一肋部的底端和第二肋部的顶端位于一公共平面上。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘体上的每个狭槽与对应的切口间有一连接部件。
3.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:狭槽和切口延伸贯穿绝缘体的两个相对侧表面。
4.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:屏蔽装置的每个第一肋部和第二肋部延伸到金属板的相对侧表面,并且均匀分布在金属板上。
5.如权利要求4所述的电连接器,其特征在于:第一肋部和第二肋部具有相同的第一宽度,狭槽和切口具有与第一宽度完全相等的第二宽度。
6.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:金属板设有若干紧覆在信号装置上的凸缘。
