Abstract

Description
本发明涉及用于将挥发性液体散布至大气环境中的装置。
一种用于将挥发性液体散布至大气环境中的非常常用的方法装置由多孔性转移构件组成,其中所述挥发性液体如芳香剂或杀虫剂,所述多孔性转移构件如多孔芯,其与储存器中的挥发性液体接触。液体沿此芯上升并且蒸发至大气环境中。该系统的缺陷是例如用于蒸发的表面积较低,并且芯具有将复合混合物如芳香剂分馏的倾向,从而一些组分比另一些组分较早散布,整体效果丧失。
已提出通过使用外部毛细管来解决这一缺陷,即,在适宜的基底中切割或模塑出毛细通道。US专利4,913,350中描述了一个实例,其中将含有外部毛细通道的构件插入液体中。在另一个实施方案中,如UK专利申请GB 0306449中所描述的,给已知的转移构件装配毛细作用片,即,所述片基本上垂直地从转移构件中伸展并且包含毛细管大小的通道,挥发性液体可以穿过这些通道并且沿其移动至蒸发。这种片通常借助片中的孔与转移构件接触,转移构件通过所述孔伸出,并且在孔中与其紧密地配合,至少一些通道与转移构件接触,从而可以使液体从构件中转移至片(“液体转移接触”)。
虽然这种技术比现有技术的多孔芯具有显著的优点,但是这些优点还没有得到完全实现。现已发现,通过结合某些基本参数,可以获得这种技术的全部有益效果。因此,本发明提供一种适合将挥发性液体从储存器中散布至大气环境中的装置,至大气环境的转移至少部分地借助具有外部毛细通道的转移构件来实现,其特征在于:
(a)含有挥发性液体的物质的至少30wt%具有最大175的分子量,并且挥发性液体的表面张力小于40达因/cm;和
(b)转移构件是表面能小于45达因/cm的塑料材料。
“至少30wt%”是指液体的所有组分,包括存在的任何溶剂。
当活性物质是芳香剂时,它可以由一种或多种化合物组成,例如,天然产物,如提取物、精油、净油、树脂状物质、树脂、凝香体等等,而且还可以是合成物质,如烃类、醇类、醛类、酮类、醚类、酸类。酯类、缩醛类、缩酮类、亚硝酸盐等等,包括饱和及不饱和化合物、脂族、碳环族和杂环族化合物。分子量范围为大约90至320。这种芳香剂物质在例如S.Arctander,Perfume and FlavorChemicals(Montclair,NJ.,1969)、S.Arctander,Perfume and FlavorMaterials of Natural Origin(Elizabeth,N.J.,1960)和“Flavorand Fragrance Materials-1991”,Allured Publishing Co.Wheaton,I11.USA中有记载。

挥发性液体的溶剂可以选自本领域已知的很多类型的挥发性化合物,例如,醚类;直链或支链醇类和二醇类;挥发性聚硅氧烷;双丙甘醇,柠檬酸三乙酯,乙醇,异丙醇,二甘醇一乙基醚,双丙甘醇,邻苯二甲酸二乙酯,柠檬酸三乙酯,肉豆蔻酸异丙酯等等,烃溶剂,如IsoparTM或其它已知的以前用于从基底中分配挥发性活性物质的溶剂。这些溶剂通常具有20-400的分子量。针对各挥发性液体具体选择它们,以便达到所指定的性能和安全性(例如,VOC和闪点)。
当活性物质是驱虫剂时,它可以由一种或多种化合物组成,例如,目前在蚊香中常用的除虫菊酯和拟除虫菊酯类型的物质可能最适用于本发明目的。可以使用其它昆虫控制活性物质,例如拒斥剂DEET,精油,如香茅醛、柠檬草油、熏衣草油、肉桂油、印度楝树油、丁香油、檀香木油和香叶醇。
当活性物质是抗微生物剂时,它可以由一种或多种化合物组成,所述化合物如精油,例如迷迭香、百里香、熏衣草、丁子香、老鹳草、茶树、丁香、柠檬草、薄荷或它们的活性组分,如茴香脑、麝香草酚、桉叶油素、金合欢醇、薄荷醇、苧烯、水杨酸甲酯、水杨酸、萜品醇、橙花叔醇、香叶醇及其混合物;苄醇、乙二醇苯基醚、丙二醇苯基醚、碳酸异丙烯酯、苯氧基乙醇、丙二酸二甲酯、琥珀酸二甲酯、琥珀酸二乙酯、琥珀酸二丁酯、戊二酸二甲酯、戊二酸二乙酯、戊二酸二丁酯、己二酸二甲酯、己二酸二乙酯、己二酸二丁酯或其混合物;一种或多种醛,选自肉桂醛、苯甲醛、苯乙醛、庚醛、辛醛、癸醛、十一醛、十一碳烯醛、十二醛、十三醛、甲基壬基醛、二癸基醛、茴香醛、香茅醛、香茅基含氧醛、仙客来醛、α-己基肉桂醛、羟基香茅醛、α-甲基肉桂醛、甲基壬基乙醛、丙基苯基醛、柠檬醛、紫苏醛、甲苯醛、甲苯乙醛、枯茗醛、LilialTM、水杨醛、α-戊基肉桂醛和HeliotropineTM。
其它挥发性活性物质可以单独使用或与上述活性物质结合使用,例如,解充血剂,如薄荷醇、樟脑、桉树油等,臭味冲消剂,如三甲基己醛,其它烷基醛,苯甲醛和香草醛,α-、β-不饱和单羧酸的酯,烷基环己基烷基酮,乙酸和丙酸的衍生物,4-环己基-4-甲基-2-戊酮,芳族不饱和羧酸酯等等。
当设计挥发性液体时必须要仔细,以便它们不对公众造成危险。这可以通过确保所述挥发性液体具有大于约60℃的闪点来做到,所述闪点通过试验方法ASTM D93来测定。
转移介质必须具有外部毛细通道,即,在介质的外部表面提供毛细大小的通道,以致于液体将在它们内部表现为毛细流动。这些可以通过任何适宜的手段来提供,例如模制和雕刻。转移介质可以是这种介质的任何适宜的形式,但优选以下两种类型中的一种:
1、第一种类型,其中带有外部毛细通道的构件直接接触储存器中的液体,并且液体在毛细通道中上升并且蒸发至大气环境中。这种类型的实例在US 4,193,350中有描述。
2、第二种类型,其中储存器中的液体通过与之接触的多孔芯带出,在芯上装有毛细作用片,其的外部毛细通道与芯液体转移接触,液体从芯进入毛细通道并且蒸发至大气环境中。这种装置的一个实例在UK专利申请GB 0306449中有描述。
为完成本发明,挥发性液体具有最大40达因/cm的表面张力并且塑料材料具有最大45达因/cm的表面能是必需的。据发现,这种参数结合使得液体特别良好地散布至大气环境中。因此,本发明还提供一种将挥发性液体散布至大气环境中的方法,包括将挥发性液体从具有表面毛细通道的转移构件中蒸发,所述挥发性液体应当是:含有其的物质的至少30wt%具有最大175的分子量,并且它具有小于40达因/cm的表面张力,和转移构件是表面能小于45达因/cm的塑料材料。
提供具有上述特征的挥发性液体是本领域技术人员力所能及的。
优选,液体的表面张力小于40达因/cm,并且更优选在20-35达因/cm范围内。本发明中所有的表面张力均是在第21型FisherSurface Tensiomat上于25℃下测定的。
进一步优选,挥发性液体的在25℃下的粘度小于10厘沲/秒,在Cannon-Fenske粘度计上按照试验方法ASTMD 445来测定的。
用于本发明的塑料材料优选具有15-45达因/cm的表面能。塑料材料的表面能取决于其的分子结构并且是表面能被润湿能力的量度。塑料材料越呈化学惰性,表面能越低。因此,例如聚乙烯、聚丙烯和PTFE的材料具有低表面能,而具有较多极性基团的塑料具有较高的表面能。优选,表面能在30-45达因/cm范围内,并且更优选30-35达因/cm。一些适宜于本发明的材料示于下表中:

实施例1
将聚丙烯BP400Ca 70的毛细作用片(测得2.5cm×7.5cm并且具有32达因/cm表面能)以1.25cm的深度浸入10g许多香草芳香剂中,这些芳香剂中含有不同量MW小于175的挥发性物质。通过称重含芳香剂和毛细作用片的容器的重量,测定扩散至空气中的芳香剂的量。以下结果是4天之后获得的:

结果显示,为使芳香剂有效传递至大气环境中,组合物中必须具有至少30%的分子量小于175的芳香物质。
实施例2
将两个截头圆锥形聚酯芯放入装在BarexTM容器的11.5g A1和A2芳香剂中,并且允许平衡过夜。在其上放置1.5mm厚的聚丙烯外部毛细作用片,其具有中心孔以便允许它们适配至芯上,并且每天测定扩散的芳香剂的量。6天后的结果示于下:

对于混合体系来说,即其中芳香剂的传送是通过多孔芯和扩散是经由外部毛细作用片,当芳香剂具有的MW<175的组分的量为大约30%或更高时,获得良好的扩散。
实施例3
将聚丙烯BP400Ca 70的毛细作用片(测得2.5cm×7.5cm并且具有32达因/cm表面能)以1.25cm的深度浸入10g一系列芳香剂中,这些芳香剂中的超过30%的组分具有MW<175,但具有不同的表面张力。表面张力使用21型Fisher Surface Tensiomat在25℃下测定。
通过称重含芳香剂和毛细作用片的容器的重量,来测定扩散至空气中的芳香剂的量。以下结果是2天之后获得的:

将聚丙烯BP400Ca 70的毛细作用片(测得2.5cm×7.5cm并且具有32达因/cm表面能)以1.25cm的深度浸入10g一系列芳香剂中,这些芳香剂中的超过30%的组分具有MW<175,但具有不同的粘度。粘度使用Cannon-Fenske粘度计按照ASTM D 445来测定。

实施例5
按实施例1,分别用芳香剂D(%组分MW<175 >30,表面张力37达因/cm并且粘度5.7Cs/s)和芳香剂E(%组分MW<175 >30,粘度2.9cS/s并且表面张力34.5达因/cm)设立具有不同表面能的毛细作用片。芳香剂中添加有油溶性染料,并且测定和记录6分钟后其上升的高度(按毛细管高度的百分比计),结果示于下表:

Claims (9)
1、一种适合将挥发性液体从储存器中散布至大气环境中的装置,至大气环境的转移至少部分地借助具有外部毛细通道的转移构件来实现,其特征在于:
(a)含有挥发性液体的物质的至少30wt%具有最大175的分子量,并且挥发性液体的表面张力小于40达因/cm;和
(b)转移构件是表面能小于45达因/cm的塑料材料。
2、权利要求1的装置,其中液体的表面张力为20-35达因/cm。
3、权利要求1的装置,其中塑料材料的表面能为15-45达因/cm。
4、权利要求3的装置,其中表面能的范围为30-45达因/cm。
5、权利要求4的装置,其中表面能的范围为30-35达因/cm。
6、权利要求1的装置,其中挥发性液体在25℃下的粘度为小于10厘沲/秒。
7、权利要求1的装置,其中转移构件带有外部毛细通道,其直接与储存器中的液体接触,和液体在毛细通道中上升并且蒸发至大气环境中。
8、权利要求1的装置,其中储存器中的液体通过与之接触的多孔芯带出,在芯上装有毛细作用片,该毛细作用片的外部毛细通道与芯液体转移接触,液体从芯进入毛细通道并且蒸发至大气环境中。
9、一种将挥发性液体散布至大气环境中的方法,包括将挥发性液体从具有表面毛细通道的转移构件中蒸发,所述挥发性液体是:含有其的物质的至少30wt%具有最大175的分子量,并且它具有小于40达因/cm的表面张力,和转移构件是表面能小于45达因/cm的塑料材料。
