A financial online system comprises a host computer and a business office system. The transaction data is sent to the host computer through the terminal control device. The host computer processes the transaction data and updates the ledger file as needed. In synchronization with the transmission of the transaction output data obtained as a result of the processing to the terminal control apparatus, the host computer transmits update information for updating the customer information of the business office to the terminal control apparatus in accordance with the update of the general ledger file. The terminal control device outputs the transaction output data to the terminal device, and updates the customer information of the business office in the business office database according to the update information.
Description
The present invention relates to a financial online system for managing customer information in a business office of a financial institution such as a bank, and more particularly to a financial online system for updating a customer information database in accordance with customer information that changes one after another in accordance with transactions such as deposits and loans of customers.
In an online financial system used by a financial institution such as a bank, a central host generally manages data on deposits and loans in a unified manner throughout a business office. The host computer receives the transaction input data from the terminal device arranged in each business office, then carries out data processing, updates the general ledger file according to the needs, generates transaction output data and then sends the transaction output data to the terminal device. Each business office acquires customer information necessary for business activities from a central general ledger file, holds the customer information in a terminal device, and periodically updates the customer information. For example, the following method may be employed: that is, the host writes customer information for each office into a Flexible Disk (FD) at a time using a general ledger file as an input source, and aggregates the customer information concerning a plurality of FDs onto a magnetic tape Cassette (CMT) using a converter. The CMT thus prepared is distributed to each office, and customer information of the office is used by a terminal device. For this reason, much labor, time, and cost are required for generation and distribution of customer information in a business office. Further, there is a problem that it is necessary to store and modify a plurality of pieces of customer information of the FD in the CMT, and it takes time to post the generated CMT to each business, and it is difficult to obtain a reflection of the latest transaction situation.
The invention aims to provide a system for updating customer information of a business office reflecting the latest transaction state of a customer without manual intervention when the customer information is acquired at the business office.
In a preferred embodiment, the financial online system of the present invention includes a host computer (hereinafter, simply referred to as a "host") provided on a central side, a business office system provided in a business office, and a channel connecting the host computer and the business office system. The host has a general ledger file. The business office system comprises a terminal device for inputting transaction data and a terminal control device connected with the terminal device. The terminal control device has a business office database for storing business office customer information on customers installed in the business office. In such a system, the transaction data input through the terminal device is transmitted from the terminal control device to the host computer. The host computer processes the transaction data and updates the general ledger file according to the requirement. In synchronization with the transmission of the transaction output data obtained as a result of the processing to the terminal control device, the host transmits update information of the customer information of the business office updated in accordance with the update of the general ledger file to the terminal control device. The terminal control device outputs the transaction output data to the terminal device, and updates the customer information of the business office in the business office database according to the update information. Therefore, the office customer information in the office database is updated substantially in synchronization with the update of the main machine-side general ledger file.

Fig. 1 is a configuration diagram of a financial online system according to the present embodiment. The host 8 is a host computer provided in a computer center. The general ledger document 9 is stored on a storage device connected to the host computer 8, and is a main document holding information on the deposit relationship, loan relationship, and the like of all the offices. The terminal control device 2, an ATM (automatic transaction device) 6, and a terminal device 7 for a cashier are installed in a business office. The terminal control device 2 is connected to a host computer 8 via a communication circuit 5 and a communication control device not shown. The terminal control device 2 is a terminal device viewed from the host 8. The ATM6 and the terminal device 7 for the cashier are connected to the terminal control device 2 via a transmission line. The customer information log file 14 is a file for temporary storage that stores data for updating the customer information sent from the host computer 8. The customer information database 17 is a database storing customer information. The customer information log file 14 and the customer information database 17 are stored in a storage device connected to the terminal control device 2. The terminal control device 2 is an information processing device that looks like a server from the ATM6 and the terminal device 7 for a cashier, and has a text transmission/reception section 11, a form editing section 12, a customer information updating section 16, and a DBMS (database management system) 18. In the present embodiment, the text transmitting/receiving section 11, the form editing section 12, the customer information updating section 16, and the DBMS18 are implemented as programs stored in a storage device carried by an information processing device constituting the terminal control device 2, respectively, in order to achieve functions to be described later. The upstream text 3 is an inquiry message transmitted from the terminal control device 2 to the host computer via the communication line 5. In the upper text 3 is included input data resulting from transactions conducted at the offices. The downlink text 10 is a reply message transmitted from the host computer 8 to the terminal control device 2 via the communication line 5. The downward text 10 includes transaction output data such as form data and data for updating customer information. The text transmission/reception section 11 transmits transaction data input from the ATM6 and the terminal device 7 for cashier to the host computer 8 in the form of the upstream text 3. The text transmission/reception section 11 also separates the downward text 10 received from the host computer 8 into transaction output data and data for updating customer information, transmits the transaction output data to the form editing section 12, and stores the data for updating customer information in the customer information log file 14. The form editing section 12 edits form data among the transaction output data and transmits the edited form data to the ATM6 and the terminal device 7 for the cashier. The text transmitting/receiving section 11 and the form editing section 12 operate in an online real-time manner. The customer information updating section 16 is a program that is activated at regular intervals and operates off-line, reads data for updating customer information from the customer information log file 14, and updates the customer information in the customer information database 17 by the DBMS 18. Further, the programs of the text transmitting/receiving section 11 and the customer information updating section 16 according to the present invention may be stored in a storage medium such as an optical disk or a magnetic tape, read into the terminal control device 2 by a magnetic tape device or the like, and executed.
The host computer 8 receives the upstream text 8 from the terminal control device 2, processes the input transaction data, updates the general ledger file 9 as necessary, generates transaction output data, and transmits the transaction output data to the terminal control device 2 as the downstream text 10. If the transaction is to update the general ledger file 9, the host computer 8 adds data for updating the customer information to the transaction output data and transmits the data to the terminal control device 2.
Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram showing a data structure of the customer information log file 14. The customer information log file 14 is composed of a management section 14a and a data section 14 b. In the data section 14b, data for updating the customer information for each received downlink text 10 is stored. The data for updating the customer information is variable in length, and the data length of the data is added to the head of the data. In the management section 14a, a recording end pointer and an updating end pointer are stored. The record end pointer indicates the address of the last data recorded in the customer information log file 14. The update end pointer indicates the address of the last data of the customer information database 17 at which the update is ended. The two pointer values can be expressed by, for example, relative byte addresses of the last data bytes of data to be indicated when the forefront of the data portion 14b is 0.
Fig. 3 is a diagram showing a data structure of the customer information database 17. Each record of the customer information database 17 has a counter service person, a head number, and a subject as main keys, and has data item values such as the following name, legal/individual distinction, age, address area, deposit balance, and the like. The address area is, for example, an area classification in a business office area. In order to understand the progress of the transaction, the year, month, and day of the transaction, the division of deposit/loan, and the transaction amount may be added to each record only for the most recent specified number of times, for the same account number and subject. The data for updating customer information sent from the host computer 8 includes counter service personnel, account numbers and subjects as necessary data items, and data item codes and data item values of the updated data items are appended.
Fig. 4 is a flowchart showing a processing flow of the text transmission/reception section 11. The text transmission/reception section 11 receives transaction data input from the ATM6 or the terminal device 7 for cashier (step 41), generates an upstream text 3, and transmits the upstream text to the host computer 8 (step 42). The host computer 8 checks the transaction data received from the terminal control device 2, and updates the general ledger file 9 as necessary. When the transaction output data and the general ledger file 9 are updated, the host computer 8 generates data for updating the customer information and transmits the data as a downstream text 10 to the terminal control device 2. The text transmission/reception section 11 receives the downstream text 10 sent from the host computer 8 (step 43), and performs data check (step 44). After the data inspection, the text-transceiving part 11 separates the data included in the downward text 10 into the form data as the output data output to the display device or the printer of the ATM6 or the terminal device 7 for cashier and the data for customer information update (step 45). A code for identification is inserted in advance between form data and data for updating customer information, and the beginning of the data for updating customer information is identified based on the code for identification. The text-transceiving part 11 transmits the form data to the form editing part 12. The form editing section 12 edits the form data into a display screen, a slip or a passbook, and transmits the edited form data to the ATM6 or the terminal device 7 for a cashier. On the other hand, data for updating the customer information is stored in a buffer area for editing in the main memory. The text transmission/reception section 11 performs editing such as code conversion between the transmission code and the internal processing code on the customer information update data once stored in the buffer for editing (step 46), and then stores the data in the customer information log file 14 (step 47). When storing data in the customer information log file 14, the text transmission/reception section 11 acquires a record end pointer with reference to the management section 14a of the customer information log file 14, and records the data length and data at a storage position indicated by a value obtained by adding 1 to the record end pointer value. The end of recording pointer of the last management section 14a is updated (step 48) to indicate the last data byte. Further, in step 43, the terminal control device 2 may receive data for updating the customer information in synchronization with the reception of the transaction output data. Therefore, the transaction output data and the data for updating the customer information may be transmitted as separate messages instead of being transmitted as the same message.
Fig. 5 is a flowchart showing a processing flow of the customer information updating section 16. The customer information updating section 16 starts an action by a timer task started at a certain time interval (step 51). When the customer information update unit 16 starts operating, the management unit 14a of the customer information log file 14 is first read (step 52). The customer information updating section 16 compares the record end pointer and the update end pointer of the management section 14a that have been read (step 53). When the two are not in agreement, that is, when there is not updated data, the customer information updating section 16 reads the data length and the data from the storage location indicated by the value of adding 1 to the update end pointer (step 54). And, the update of the customer information database 17 is instructed in the DBMS18 based on the data that has been read (step 55). The DBMS18 retrieves the customer information database 17 using the counter attendant, the account number, and the subject specified by the instruction from the customer information updating section 16 as keys, and updates the values of the data items specified by the appropriate records. During the additional transaction duration, the latest transaction year, month and day, the payment/payment differentiation and the transaction amount specified by the corresponding record are written. Finally, the customer information updating section 16 updates the update end pointer of the management section 14a so as to indicate the last data byte of the update end data (step 56). Thereafter, the customer information updating section 16 returns to the process of step 52.
In step 53, when the recording end pointer and the update end pointer of the management section 14a coincide, that is, when there is no non-updated data, the customer information updating section 16 terminates the processing.
Since the text-transceiving part 11 and the customer-information updating part 16 can generate a state of simultaneously accessing the customer-information log file 14, exclusive control is performed for the access of the customer-information log file 14. In the present embodiment, the customer information database is updated after the customer information updating unit 16 is activated at regular time intervals, but if it is determined in step 53 that there is no unrefreshed data, the processing loop may be returned to step 52 and the processing loop of step 52 and step 53 may be executed to be in a standby state. At this time, if the priority of the processing of the customer information updating portion 16 is made lower than the priority of the processing of the text transmitting/receiving portion 11 and the form editing portion 12, the processing of the customer information updating portion 16 is started as background processing, and the processing of steps 54 to 56 is performed as long as there is no updated data.
In the present embodiment, the content of the data for updating the customer information is not particularly limited, and may include information that can be used by a salesperson in a business office, for example, information on a bonus payment day of a specific individual or information on a new house. These pieces of information are inputted from a terminal device 7 for a cashier, transferred to a host computer 8 through a text transmission/reception section 11, registered in a general ledger file 9, transferred to a terminal control device 2 as data for customer information update, and finally registered in a record of a corresponding individual in a customer information database 17.
In addition, regarding a transaction (called a pure transaction) generated in a business other than the management source, the host 8 transmits transaction output data to the terminal control device 2 of the business where the transaction is generated, and if the transaction output data is update data, transmits data for updating the customer information to the terminal control device 2 of the management source business. The text transmission/reception section 11 of the terminal control device 2 of the management source office recognizes only the data for updating the customer information and stores the data in the customer information log file 14 as described above.
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to acquire customer information reflecting the latest transaction status without manual intervention using a storage medium such as FD or CMT in order to generate customer information for a business office.
